Breaking 1992 Corrado 2.0 16v - Prices Lowered To Clear!
josh.c replied to pettsy's topic in Cars for Breaking
Hey provided you have enough of the bits I need, I'll collect: bonnet, slam, bumper, bumper irons + mounts, rad, rad fan + cowlings, indicators, fogs, headlights Let me know, cheers, Josh -

Bristolbaron, Apparently this one is tornado, probably not mind you. I'd be getting fogs and indicators from the same late 'rado anyway! Gaz, the whole appeal was the donor car is tornado red so no spraying required! I'm just going to wait and collect up early parts. I think I prefer the early front end anyways. -

I get what you're saying. Hmm.. might wait for a early tornado to get split for parts then. A pic would be appreciated :) -

Thanks for letting me know Gaz. Maybe one day I'll invest in late wings aswell.. How noticeable is the difference when using late bumper and early wings mind you? If it's like a sore thumb then I may have to rethink my plan of action. -

Hey rodmax, Thank you for the offer + bloody good price but I've found a front end in the right colour for a little more. Sorry about the delayed reply. All I need now are late headlights to go with the late slam + bonnet + bumper + indicators and fogs :D To anyone that knows, will a late bumper fit an early 'rado fine? From what I've read, the bumper is a bit wider so protrudes a bit more than my early arches will. -

Thanks Jamie :D Yeah they'll bend back fine, thanks for the tip on the bumper aswell! Water pipe is actually fine :) Critical Mass, if you mean the scuffs on the bottom left that look white, they're literally just scuffs so hopefully will be fine, advice appreciated though :) Already on eBay having a good look and contacting those who are breaking C's. I wonder if I can source all parts before next monday haha. Hopefully rodmax's bits will be the right colour aswell, that'd save alot of money + searching! -

Jamiehamy fair enough :) Sorry for not replying to your previous post, It gave me a bit more confidence about everything I've gotta do. We should be able to get away with using this rad for now then. I'll upload a few more pics now the bumper irons are off. -

Well spent the past few hours trying to get the slam off because it was so warped and whatnot! More bad news, top left mount for rad has snapped and the fans plastic leg things have mysteriously vanished.. so rad + fan to the list! 50 sounds more than fair, what colour is it all? So much love for the Corrado Forum right now. Also Wompa, made us laugh so thank you for that! This whole thing couldn't have come at a worse time, got a holiday to pay for aswell so money is properly tight :( -

Again, thanks all for the comments. Critical_Mass thanks for the advice, I'm going to get on with that today. It's so depressing because I've only just taken out insurance on her aswell. Rodmax, I may take you up on that offer, how much would you be looking for? Need to speak to the insurance people and see what they say.. -

Thanks guys. Bit worried about the extent of the damage I may uncover tomorrow, out of interest, what is the actual name of the black bar behind the bumper and does anyone have a spare for sale?! I've already had a look on the marketplace and cars for breaking but it would help if I knew what it is I'm looking for! Was supposed to be driving down to Centre Parcs next Monday for my 18th on Wednesday. Grrr -

That I recieved a phonecall from a rather distraught mother telling me she'd been in an accident :'(. She was turning onto the A4 (Bath Road) in Slough off of Leigh Road whilst the other driver was turning off a side road to go onto Leigh road... Although he was trying to go left from his road and straight over the Bath road to Leigh Road, his indicators hadn't turned off so the mother had presumed he was turning left onto bath road also. Mum was indicating so I can only presume he didn't see her.. Red - Him Yellow - Mum The whole front end seems to be pretty fooked, all lights knackered, bumper knackered along with the reinforcement bar, slam panel knackered, bonnet knackered, surprisingly though, the radiator actually seems to be retaining coolant, there is a coolant leak from the thin pipe from the top of the rad that goes to the expansion bottle, I'm presuming that's because of the pressure of the bent radiator hose that you'll see in attached pics.. What do people recommend to be the best course of action? We've yet to get on the phone to the insurance people. Opinions more than welcome. I'll upload pics in a min.. And to finish on a positive note: 'Rado made the 5 or so miles back home without so much as a grumble!

Bit of a cheeky spot, Corrado parked on the road in Dangerous Drivers School when that Farrah lady is on her test.
-
Is the headunit standard? I think there is a wire behind it which some people will mistakenly cut which is to do with raising and lowering at speed.. did a quick search and found this: If it has only just started happening for no apparent reason then I too recommend having a look at cleaning/greasing the mechanism, not a hard job, just a bit of a long one if you're thorough!

Right, the 'rado with fmic was back where I last spotted it, was walking so grabbed a couple pictures this time.

Flash Red 'Rado with huge FMIC just before the Thames Bridge on Bath road, Maidenhead. Apart for the chopped up front bumper, looked standard. Shame it was parked up, would love to hear the noise it makes.

Gothmolly, tb stands for Throttle Body I believe. :) I think a lot of people here have their chargers serviced every *Alex_G60's post below*, and if that is correct then maybe it's a bit tired and needs a good service? I could be completely wrong mind you, so wait for some confirmation / correction first!

Same as krishen. Had a new pressure pipe made up for £30 in bracknell and they just brazed on the old fittings.
-
That's fine then ;)
-
There's a Blackberry around me?! Never seen it. Roadwars, giving a bad name to Maidenhead since 2003.
-
That'd explain why I wouldn't have seen you! It'll be worth it in the long run, probably.. :D

May I ask what you were driving as I saw nothing. :( Highlight of my trip was a decked white mk3
