1. Can't specifically help but me and my gf's dad ran compression tests on his mk3 vr6 and used a gauge which looked identical to the one you've linked to. Due to being quite short, it is a bit of a sod to remove but is possible. We removed the fuel pump fuse and had all the plugs removed. On the 2.8 VR6, we were looking for and achieving in the 10-12 bar range. Don't take anything I have said as gospel, just my 2 pence :thumbleft:
2. Ahh cool that's on my to do list as well. Will get onto all of this tomorrow :) I have cleaned the ISV up before with carb cleaner as I thought it was the cause of a similar issue but that turned out to be a vacuum leak. Fingers crossed!
3. Ahh, see, I'm glad I asked the silly question The cold start injector makes absolutely no difference when disconnected. I will remove it when I get a chance and see if it's functioning at all. I will also check the warm up regulator as suggested and will get back to you on that. From what I can hear, yes, the ISV does buzz but I tend to work alone and from where I stand when turning the key, the biggest buzz is what I figured was the fuel pump priming but I could be barking up the wrong tree there. Worth mentioning, the car has absolutely refused to start a couple of times and the only way to get it going was to bump start! Thanks for the help and please forgive my lack of skill and understanding. I'm young and naive :)
4. Morning all. Car has been running terribly from cold recently, have to keep the foot on the throttle to prevent stalling until it gets warm and even then she hunts idle a little. I've checked all vac lines and all seems well so I figured I'll test the Blue temp sender with a multimeter, I'm not getting any reading from it what so ever. Worth mentioning that unplugging the blue temp sender made no difference to the idle... 'Aha, I've found the problem' I thought, so swapped the blue lead for the black to see if it made any difference, nada. Nothing. Checked resistance for the Black temp sender, same as blue, nothing. I am getting temp readings on the dash so I would've thought the black temp sender would've worked. Any suggestions as to what I should do or test to aid in diagnosing and correcting this issue? Also, I read about taking the reading across the 2 pins but my sensors only have 1 pin?! I took readings using the live on the multimeter on the spade connector for the sender and negative was earthed. I'm going to ask probably the most silly/important question... The temp senders on the KR are at the front of the block near the Oil filter.. right? Car info in sig.
5. If you live with a lady I find nail varnish remover works pretty well, not sure if it'll be any better than white spirit though
6. Ah that's cool, hope it's all good :) Josh
7. I actually have a spare door that was given to me when I bought the car if it's of any interest?
8. Just thought I'd show off my toy, bit overkill but so much fun to ride!
9. Thought that may be the case. Cheers dude :)
10. How much would you want for the front bumper? Might sound stupid but seeing as it has been flushed, what would you do about indicators? I would've thought it's a legal requirement to have them on the front?
11. +1 for me on the rado. Rear offside light connections were corroded. Happened on the day of the MOT as well which is a bit sods law. Easy fix though :thumbleft:
12. I might have missed something, but what colour is the G reg valver? If it's tornado, would you be willing to post the bumper (no splitter or lights), and how much? Cheers
13. Oh god you've just reminded me of the hassle I had with that! Yeah cleaned it all out because it wasn't working atall, loads of crap in the actual motor, but it seems to be holding up. Is it possible to get a replacement motor?
14. I did give the entire mechanism a clean an grease 6 or so months ago but alas, it seems to need doing again. It doesn't really bother me so I'll do it on a weekend when other work doesn't need to be done to Rado (haha as if)
15. I'd have the drivers seat off you in a heartbeat if you still have it
16. K Simmonds, bought loads of bits from him at a good price, everything arrived when expected, VERY VERY well packaged, including the bonnet and bumper, and exactly as described! I will be more than happy to buy from him in the future :) He's given great communications throughout, which isn't that common nowadays, once some people get your money, they're not interested afterwards. However, Kit has been excellent and offered me plenty of advice when fitting the parts! Incase you couldn't tell, I can't praise K Simmonds enough

leaking fluid

Hey carrots, I managed to swap my pipes over with it on axle stands and bending the crap out of a 17mm spanner to reach around all the other bits. Took a couple of hours to get it done but haven't had troubles since! One thing not to forget would be use the proper steering fluid! Not too expensive and well worth the piece of mind :)

Early Headlights

I'm in need of good condition early head lights with tabs intact. Located in Berkshire but don't mind paying for postage. PM me or text 07868454321 please :) Josh
22. Getting parts sorted and fitted now! Made the most of the lovely weather and fitted a new rad, fan, slam panel and bumper :) enough to get the poor thing off axle stands anyway. If anyone has or knows someone with early headlights, please point them my way as they're the last bits I need!
