1. As above guys, picking up a CDL TFSI Engine (265bhp S3/SciroccoR) next week to give my car a little power upgrade Currently running with a g60 lump but this is now being broken for sale to help fund the project. Want a 6 speed manual box for the conversion, any ideas as to which box will be best? Thank in advance
2. trying to post in the cars breaking section. thanks

4. its not giving me an option to add anything for sale in the classified section either? Does a mod have to do something to my account as i am quite new to the forum (7th march)
5. i'm going to contact Quantum tomorrow as i want to know a little more about this plug and play and whats needed. It's gonna be a mission by the sounds of it but 265bhp as a starting block is a little too tempting........ I have decided that i would want a normal manual on reflection and not go for the DSG box. Apart from the extra cost i have found out a lot of the units have been recalled. Found this on another forum - Recall number is 37E5 I think the problems mentioned on this thread are due to this overheating problem. On the recall letter I received it says: 'Possibility of the electronic control unit of the gearbox to read false temp data on clutch which results to flashing gears on DIS, tremble of car, reduction of tourque, and disengage of clutch' One of the members on the forum had this problem, dsg put it's self in neutral then put it's self back in gear after she released the had brake. The car reversed into a fence, she put the handbrake back on and then it drove her forward into a van!!!! Imagine that, no thanks lol. Looks like my G60 Engine might be up for sale then, anybody want one? Can't seem to advertise it on her for some reason, any ideas?
6. Happy days, cant say cheaper than free Jim. Ledge
7. As above guys, not been on the forum long but can't see a new topic tab in the parts page. How do i advertise parts. thanks Adam
8. i've been offered the engine with all auxiliaries, loom and clocks for £1600. Bearing it's only done 1700 miles i think thats a very good price. He wants 600 quid for the dsg but i'd prob end up finding a 6 speed manual for the conversion.
9. yes thats what i've been looking at :) ohh soo tempting!! Been offered the engine for dirt cheap so it is very tempting. What are your thoughts on the DSG, think it would ruin the drive. Dont get me wrong i think they work but always prefer a manual
10. As above.....how hard you think? Been offered the engine for an extremely good price and with only 1700 miles! Seller has asked me if i'd want the DSG box as well. Now i know it can be done as there is that white mk2 from denmark (i believe) with the DSG box but theres two things. I owned a new scirocco and am unsure if i would like the DSG over a normal manual box. Also how much work would be involved to fit the DSG as i can imagine it is probably bigger than your average gearbox...right??? I've always stayed away from the 1.8T and stuck with my G60 as i think the 1.8T if far too popular now. Not many TFSI's out there especially with the DSG box. 260bhp standard and 300bhp with just a remap! Thoughts?
11. lol, so is the isv only used on startup when cold? As it ticks over fine when warm.
12. ok cool, so if i can verify that they are ev1 they will fit? :)
13. This is another angle, unless i'm mistaken i am not running with an ISV.....
14. cheers jim, I've got so much bloody work to do it's scary, haha. But if the ISV was gone would it not just cut out, even when warm? I didn't think it could run without a ISV? I'll have to have a gander when i'm next at my garage. It runs spot on when driving, bit too well  lol. I might have to have one off you then but if anyone else can answer the question of, can a g60 run without an ISV that would be really helpful.
15. huh? lol the listing states they can be used with G60 but am not too clued up on injectors. whats ev1?
16. ahh ok, the car has always been like this. But it ticks over fine when warm. I guess there must be one somewhere then, maybe its just been hidden behind the inlet somewhere. Strange that the plug does not seem to be connected, maybe as it's a conversion into a golf a similar connector was not used and this is the one i see? confused.com
17. PART NUMBER: 0280150785 SPEC: 315 cc/min , 14.5 ohms , high impedance i was going to get the 0280150945 ones which i believe are 306cc and the same 14.5 ohms but have seen the above ones for sale
18. Is this not the plug that the ISV is connected to? This is not actually connected.....
19. Hi guys, any idea if this set up looks a little odd to you. I notice the ISV is not in view running across the top/back of the rocker cover. The plug that plugs into the ISV is not plugged into anything. Are you able to run without one? Plus anything else you guys notice.
20. I'm sure this has been a common question but could really do with some help. Most of the other threads state their car hunts but mine never hunts, any ideas?
21. i'm a little bit the same. I've got a lot more i want to do to the G but think i might tackle a TFSI conversion next. This above sounds very interesting but i wouldn't trust my self to be able to do the best job possible. i can't imagine this route would be anywhere as comprehensive as taking the car to Jabba for tuning on their R/R, even if they do want to charge the earth lol.
22. lol.....funny you say that i had a six pack in the fridge and thought to my self "mmm i might have a sneaky one while the mrs is at work" Then i noticed she bought her self two bottles of Rosé wine! Not my kind of thing but i thought i'd help my self to a glass for a laugh...... Now then, I live in a small village called Ilminster and everything shuts quite early here. I currently find my self wondering how i can replace two bottles before she gets home....... :hic: haha on a serious note i forgot to ask (during my apparent new founded love for Rosé) how easy it is to change the crank pully and what tools i need. My issue is that my car i quite low and i do not have ramps. If i jack up the front drivers side and take of the wheel is it quite easy to do?
