Hi, are you still the man to speak to about Corrado roof rails? I’m after a set for mine
-
Do i need 5 if im replacing? my warm start issue i think is injector related and i know you have the standard 4 and then a cold start injector too? so would i need to get hold of 5? also does anyone have a better price than 40 each?
-
Following from my previous thread... http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?55248-Warm-start-issues... I'm still having starting issues, HT leads have now been changed too, and a different battery from my old car installed, although it is a smaller battery but the old one wouldn't charge. The car fires first time every time when dead cold, and immediately after being driven. The car however does not fire when it has been left standing after running for a short while and is still warm. Both time when this has happened we've managed to fire the car by using jump cables after a minute or two of building some revs from the other car to get some life into the Corrados battery. So... could this indicate a battery or alternator fault, or would this still be an injector issue? Cheers in advance, Geo

Bumping this again, tried to fully charge my battery and woulnd't fully charge.... had an old battery kicking about that did so i've fitted that, unfortunately i can't test by driving as the car has the exhaust off for welding atm. But could the battery be anything to do with it rather than injectors? bearing in mind that when we got the car started recently it was still a little warm and it only fired once it was jumped from a friends car....
-
Ideal, luckily a friend of mine has a KR head kicking around, hoping if that still has injectors in it i can blag em for the time being... fringers crossed
-
Right, so is there any way of cleaning up the injectors or is it simply get them replaced also is there an easy way to identify which one/s are leaking?
-
Had a quick search but to no avail, heres a quick run down of the warm starting issue i have on my 1.8 16v KR Rado Basically starts fine when cold, when warm after a drive trying to fire up again it really struggles, just wondering what the most likely cause would be, the dizzy cap and rotor arm were changed but ive also noticed my leads aren't in the best condition. It's also been mentioned about temprature sensors? where would these be in my bay? I did previously have ignition switch issues but these i believe are now sorted When trying to warm start the car just decided not to fire, eventually got it started with jump leads on another car after a few go's at firing so could this be a battery problem? Any help appreciated :)

Apologies for stealing the image below lol... I'm after part no's for the cover just below the airbox pipe, think what it covers is something to do with fuel injection? its the unit with all the small black pipes coming from it. Also looking for the Black plastic cover at the front of the bay, appears to cover the top of the Radiator? Any help much appreciated :)

Ok so I started the car today and went to move it off my drive to get it towed to a friends garage for the new brake pipes.... It did not go well..... Driveshaft went... lol, Had the car recovered and taken 7 miles to my friends garage for the driveshaft and brake pipes to be done for MOT re-test, went in my mates inspection pit and saw it, its broken under one of the boots as it rotates the engine end but not the wheel end... fun and games! Got my new sticker on mind that i made up from 2 stickers so i could have yellow lettering hah, also notice my MOT friendly tails... these will be going Red/ Smoke to tie in with the future wheel refurb thats haoppening, metallic grey centres, high gloss silver or polished lips -

Im not massively machanically minded but have a good friend who works at the garage who will be MOT'ing, hes done all ym cars previously and looked after them well heard back from them a second ago, car needs a new Fuel Pump which is coming from VW and will be on tomorrow, also needs a new caliper thats being done today, then test tomorrow, so going to be on edge waiting now for another day... fun haha -

Ahhh i see, good to know as a friend thought it may be caliper, but the wheel stops with the brake pedal applied so i kinda knew it would be handbrake. Made a few purchases for this and will get pics up as soon as possible Brand new windscreen, got a fairly substantial discount as i knew one of the employess of national windscreens :) so that was ideal, nice top tint on it too and they done a fantastic job 280mm steering wheel, car came fitted with a mk2 wheel, so bought a black leather 280mm, got a new boss coming too OMP horn push for the above, Went for this for the yellow text to be honest! ok its not a genuine OMP wheel but im not fussed, it should still look great De-badged grille, standard grille had what looked like a whacking great glue mark so needed replacing, I've gone de-badged for the moment and im currently still unsure on it, i'll give it time and see what i think! MOT day today, cars been dropped to my local garage on my way to work... fingers crossed! I'm half expecting a fail for some reason, maybe just because i don't want to get my hopes up! but its having a bit of work at the garage before they put it in for the test so we shall see how it goes! -
ahhh may have forgotten to mention mine has manual windows haha! age of the car is 1990 so early model

on the passenger door card of my 16v someone kindly decided to butcher a hole for a tweeter, so im looking for a replacement. Its a 1.8 16v cloth doorcard, seems to be black/grey with tiny blue and green bits in the stitching? alternatively may be interested in a full replacement set, cloth ony though please let me know :)

Diesel Junior will definately give that a go, buying new expansion tank for sure anyways but might be an ideal temporary measure. Decided after seeing a few pictures im going to paint the Inlet Manifold Black, Polish up the Risen area at the top and do the DOHC 16v lettering black or red or something for that little detail. Probably then do the Rocker Cover in a high gloss silver or something, or even Anthracite just for a bit of contrast against the Inlet :) -

Ok so more vital progress on TAG on the build up to MOT - Had a feeling that the immobilisor was causing the car to not start, turned out to be the ignition switch, apparantly common on rado's? So now it fires first time every time thank god! - Exhaust has been removed and sealed up, was cracked around the backbox to tailpipe join and on the centre box, both cracks gummed up for the moment, will either get them welded eventually or replace the system - Discovered a fuel leak... coming from the pump so thats being replaced asap - Handbrake cable on the drivers rear doesnt hold the wheel, found this out when the car was jacked up haha. This will be looked at by the garage before the MOT itself - Removed the airbox to be drilled, turns out it already was but was taped over, removed that and removed the funnel inside the airbox, gives a nice sound now and much better airflow, will be running a cold air feed to the box soon. - Gave it a much needed clay, polish, and wax, came up absolutely beautifully, theres a few stone chips up front to be painted, and a bit of lumpy paint under the fuel cap right on the edge, only just visible, these will be sprayed in the next few months Cleaned exterior photos - Joey Modded the healights and painted the grille badge satin black need to do something about smoking fogs and indicators but not sure yet.... - Cleaned the interior and had a go at striping the carpets haha, fitted my VR6 steering wheel until i sort another 280mm out - Scott will vouch for the condition of the engine bay... this was due to him planning an engine change at the time of painting which he didn't get round to i believe, so i gave it a quick go, much more to do but its better... - Lastly fitted MOT friendly side repeaters, should get away with tail lights as they shine slightly amber, sides were full on red. may be going smoked tops anyways on the rear. Let me know what you think :) -
Correct haha, sorted it today

The next dilemma in the fun life of my new Corrado haha whilst trying to look at immobilsior wiring the other day i had a relay fall out, its numbered 29, think i put it back in the right spot but not sure, put it back in the bottom row, anyone know what this does? Also my indicators have randomly decided to stop working, hazards not working either. Any reason for this? There are suspicions to my ignition switch being gone as car won't start atm but don't know if this could be un-related?

Bit of progress. - New headlight fitted, old item had a whacking great hole in the glass, going to have a play with Joey modding the old cracked item to see how it would look - Foglights weren't working, fuse was fully melted, discovered it was being shorted by the positive and negative terminals hitting each other on the foglights connection, insulated these and a new fuse and job done - Inner lamps weren't working, Fuses again... no shorts this time though, fuses replaced and all working - HID's removed, one was broken anyway and they were just far too bright for the car, will be upgrading the headlight loom instead - My Audio fitted, Alpine I-pod HU, and componant door speakers fitted and amplified, all wiring hidden underneath carpets, all factory speakers checked and working - Front badge removed, prepped, and painted black, it was corroded and past re-finished in the silver, thought id paint it Satin Black, debating a de-badged grille Still have a few jobs to do but i ran out of light, progress will continue this afternoon :) -
Would be ideal, however im in Cornwall... and MOT is monday haha ---------- Post added at 08:18 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:16 PM ---------- P.S. After tonights efforts some results 1 - Inner chamber full beams now work, 2 blown fuses 2 - Outer chambers, after fitting my new headlight one doesn't work, im guessing bulb, the other works but the normal light comes on with sidelights switched on, and full beam with dipped switched on... lol 3 - Fogs now working, fuse wasn't blown, its was properly melted! the metal connectors were touching posi to negi on the fog spade connectors, simply insulated them and job done 4 - Tails... have done nothing on this yet lol
-
Ideal thanks guys! MOT is monday so unless i can borrow some tails off someone local... lol, I'll have to strip the red tint off
