  1. Hi Mate, thanks for the advice. I think i have found a KR lump which i will use as the person selling it has had all the major work done with paperwork to prove/back this up.
  2. Hi guys, i have seen an engine up for sale on here under the classifieds section. There is a guy selling a 2.0 16V 9a lump, i need to change my 1.8 16v KR engine as its burning a shed load of oil and smells. Would this go straight in to my car with out too much of a ball ache? Do i need the ECU or will the standard ecu i have work with this engine? Also the gearbox? Does this need to be changed? Please help as i need to get this done asap. Thanks Veejay.
  3. This car is now for sale - please contact me for more information. Its priced to sell, so no stupid prices. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Right i have decided to keep this car now and sort it out good and proper. Firstly i was having a issue with my petrol consumption, and my collant kept running low. After some minor investigation and some advise from another Corrado owner, it happend to be the Flang which was leaking. Went down to GSF to get a new one with the seal great. Got round to replacing it to find the copy part did not fit. got some sealant, rubbed down the side of the head where it fits on and put it all back together. Went to TPS, ordered the new OEM part from Germany with the seal and off we go for round two. Took the old one off and popped on the new one, bolted it all back together and refilled the coolant. Bled the system and replaced the spark plugs while i was doing that two. I have to say, this made a massive difference to my fuel consumption. Before the fix, i was getting 106mile approx to £40, after that fix, i got 270miles from £50!!!!!!! Now i need to sort the engine out as its burning a shed load of oil, in the 3000 miles i done since i started driving the car, i have had to top this up about 5 or six times. That cant be right or good so im looking for another engine.
  4. Hi Mate, im looking to sell my Corrado, love the car to bits literally, a pleasure to drive however being young and career focused i need something a little more practical. I have a White Corrado, body in pretty good condition id day given the age. Please contact me if this interests you, i would be more than happy to let you know the details ect.
  5. Hi, apologies but i got mixed up with the parts that i need, i was actually after the disk as im told this is where the wheel bolts go in to and comes as one part. I have decided to replace these for new ones, that way i have a piece of mind i can stop the car if i need to. I am however interested in your Front foglamps and indecators, can you send me a pic of these please? Thanks Veejay.
  6. I know, i feel like its my lucky day. I was now thinking, as i have a bare block and head it might be worth using that as a starting point to build a strong engine.
  7. Hi... firstly thanks for reading and secondly thanks for the offer. Where are you based? Croydon, can you PM me your postcode and telephone number? Veej
  8. Hello Rams, Thanks for the post, appreciate it. I have been talking to my machanic about this, he as also suggested to disamtel the head and send it off to have the valves pressure tested. Depending on what comes back from this, we were going to chance replace the various compnents that need doing from there including the gaskets ect. As for the machanic, he's not solely a VW machanic however he knows what he's doing as i have helped him do a few jobs including a new engine into his Japcrap scooby.
  9. Hi, I have a 1.8 16V KR Engine in my corrado at the moment, which is burning oil and leaking coolant. I have been told that my stem seals and pistons need to be replaced, however im no machanic or techy. I have seen various people selling polished/skimmed heads from other KR engines, can someone tell me exactly what i need to do to put this right? What parts do i need (new head, piston rings, what else?) Im thinking while i have this appart with my machanic, i will do spark plugs, fuel pump, water pump, fuel filter, oil pump ect... Thanks for reading. Veejay.
  10. Hi Mate, thanks for the post. :thumbleft: The rear wiper motor is a ball ache to remove so just be patient with it but it does make it look so much cleaner on the rear. Universal grommet from Euro Car parts to cover the hole works well too. As i have only got my license four weeks ago, i do plan on coming to the meets, i attended the West London Meet as im based very close by. ---------- Post added at 03:01 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:59 PM ---------- ---------- Post added at 03:04 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:01 PM ---------- Hi, thanks for the post, its dont look to bad, wasnt keen on it at first but it works ok and has grown on me.
  11. Relay 99 - What else does that control as when my wipers stop working, my heaters, rear window heater and sunroof do as well which ****es my right off.
  12. I think the problem is more of a machanical issue, ill have a look at it this weekend by stripping down the door. On another note does anyone know what number is on the Wiper Relay in the fuse box?
  13. Hi Guys, Firstly, to open the windows its fine, but to close them it takes forever, longer than the 4secs mentioned in the post by Portent. I have replaced the battery when i bought it six months ago with a BOSCH one as the person who had it before me put in some unknown battery (probably some cheap tat). Alternator im unsure about, but im guessing its ok as all the rest of the electrics work (other than the issue i have with the wipers, sunroof and heaters not working from time to time which i have been told could be one of two things, the relay or water leak in to fuse box - true or not i will find out this weekend when i take a closer look). When i beging to close, its starts off ok but then gets really really slow and then is ok and then just before the window is fully closed it gets really slow again as if its struggeling to close. One thing, when the window is down, should the edge of the window be in the seal or is there naturally a gap when the window is more than half way down?

Hi Guys, Im a bit confused here, just to confirm the part i think i need is the stub axle (the part where the bolt goes in to hold the wheels in place). I was quoted £135inc VAT from TPS  Someone has been in touch with me and offered to sell me both rear stubb axle's for £35 delivered however im not sure this is what i need.
  15. Hi Mate, firstly good luck on getting back on the road. I have a 1990 1.8 16V, which i love to bits. An insurance policy on my name as a new driver aged 26 with no NCB was a whopping £3,900.! I actually already had the car before even thinking about insurance. When i passed just over a week ago, i was calling round for insurance. Luckily for me, and the nice parents that i have, they sold thier third car and had a policy with 5 years NCB which they no longer needed. When i bought my car, i put this in my mums name, and took out a policy with Halifax with me as a named driver which set me back £750, happy days. If you can, try and do the same, got a policy out in your parents name. Most insurance companies are cutting down on this as they have caught up with it, not the best thing to do but im legally insured to drive.
  16. Hi People, I have a 1990 VW Corrado, i have a few issues with this which i have a resolution for now thanks to this forum however one thing i do need help with is my electric windows. Rear hub

ok im not a super techy person but here is the problem i have. A friend tried to fit my old wheels back on to my car, this is a four stud, two of the holes where the bolts go in have been ruined and threaded as the wheels was not in place correctly meaning the bolt just keep spinning without getting tight. This is the part i need to change as my wheels are running on two bolts opposite each other. Any suggestions people?
  18. HI THERE, YES I BOUGHT THE CAR ABOUT 6/7 MONTHS AGO, THEN MADE IT A MISSION TO GET MY LICENSE AS IT WAS DRIVING ME CRAZY SEEING HERE IN THE GARAGE EVERY DAY. THANKS FOR THE COMPLIMENT THOUGH
  19. Another White Corrado, dont they look lovely too. Welcome mate, im also fairly new to this site and also have my first White Corrado 16V. Love the car to bits, literally.
  20. Finally got my license and have been driving the car for just over a week. There are some minor issues with electrics which ill need to have a look at this weekend however the car is such a pleasure to drive. Corrado's defo turn heads for sure. i have started to remove the bump strips from the side, just got the right hand side to do.
  21. Hi Guys, Massive thank s to you both for taking time to post some solutions. I think those two points should, cure the problem and i will certainly be checking out the fuse box and relay's. Keep you posted on if it does sort the issue. Thanks again. Veejay.
  22. Hi Mate, I would be interested in your Clutch Salve Cylinder.. also, do you have the rear hubs? Will these pit on a 1.8 16V 1990?

    Rear hub

Rear hub wanted for 1990 H Reg 1.8 16V Corrado 4 x 100 stud pattern. Contact me if you have these and need to get rid of them. Thanks Veejay.
  24. Hi People, After buying my Corrado back in April 2011, i finally passed my test and started to drive it. Im having some electrical issues which is becoming a pain in a butt, so here goes. My wipers, heaters and sunroof all seem to work however the also stop working from time to time and all three stop together. When they do work, they seem to work without the key in the ignition barrel which is really wierd. Can any one point me in some direction as to what this could be as a starting point? Thanks people. Veejay.
  25. Thanks for all the information, its good to know people are helpful and appreciate the time you took to read and comment on my post. Back to the hunt then for some wheels.
