I've the same problem as "humming hubs" post but i've changed both front bearings and had the rears checked. Had it checked at a garage and told may be the Toyo tyres. Is this possible or what could it be. Please help! :x

This has been doing my head in! Thought it was a wheel bearing but changed both at the front and it's still there. It's not a transmission noise as it happens in neutral. Happens when slowing from 30mph to zero. Someone said it could be the tyres(Toyos) but seems to be getting worse and i don't recall it being there when i got the tyres new. Help please! :x

I presume the grinding noise is the motor on its last legs. Any advice as to whether i'm right and the cheapest way to get it sorted. Cheers :)

Had a great demonstration of the adv's of AWD the other day. Traffic lights drag race with an A4 3.0 Quattro. Didn't get a look in, got the wheels to stop spinning at about 70 and then held the substantial gap between us. I was in a VR with Toyo's which had a lot of tread left. Wud have been fun if it had of been dry!! :lol:

Looking to get a few more horses out of my VR for not much money. I presume that i'm looking at an exhaust and performance air filter. Any suggestions? Has anybody done it and what BHP increase do you get? Post decapped -- jimsG60

This has been going on since i put new 16in Audi TT rims on. I have got the alignment done and it says the camber is badly out. I have had a CV boot re-placed recently and the guy aligning the car said it could be because of a worn CV joint. I also have a 3mm spacer fitted to the front wheels. Any ideas greatly appreciated!!!

Me again about the lupo wipers. They need the part numbers cause the wipers changed depending on the year of the car. Also, now they only come apparently with the blade and arm together. Good money making operation!!! If i can't get em at a good price in Belfast, anybody know contact number and price of where you got them. Cheers.

I've had myVR from 50K and I now have 120k on the clock. Can anyone let me know of any stuff has had to be changed in that time above and beyond the usual service ie. oil change, air and fuel filter????? Cheers.

They look really great, they would be better in 17" but have to get a balance between looks and ride quality and ballsing up the speedo. Got them with Toyo's but their not bedded in enough to see how good the traction is. Had a little trouble fitting the fronts, needed a 3mm spacer. Definantly worth the change as they really set the car of. Keeping the speedlines for originalitys sake! They were £670 for tyres and rims.

Very impressed with it in general. Throttle response is brilliant and the pull at low revs is much better than the VR6. It sounds awsome! Once your up above 3000rpm it is not quicker than the VR and in fact because of the 6 speed box I found i was changing up when the Vr would have still been pulling away. Nice car but it's still a golf underneath and not as exclusive as theVR.

Was travelling up the new M1 from Dublin to Dundalk yesterday, when i passed a Calibra which (as Clarkson once said referring to bodykits) looked like it had crashed into the front of a Halfords store. Anyway i was sitting 80-90 for about 30 miles, but he kept passsing me and then slowing down after a mile so i then caught up with him and went passed him again. The thing was there was smoke coming out of his exhaust(blown turbo??) so each time he passed i had to hold my breath! I had to laugh though cause all i could think of was the comment on Top Gear about the embarassing looking 90's coupe's and i wasn't in the embarassing looking one!!!!

When i put the boot down at low revs, the engine sometimes gives a little cough. Its kind of like then fuel isn't getting through for a millisecond. Any ideas??

Probably. You'll see it parked in Glencregagh, at my birds in Primrose hill or bombing up and down the new M1 to Dublin. It's more brown than blue at the minute. Probably getting 16" RS4 alloys on soon.

Does the system give any extra BHP. I am quite interested cause i think my exhaust sounds as if it's starting to go. I was going to put a post on anyway about systems to inprove the cars breathing to give an extra 10-15 BHP. Any suggestions? Do you need a few other bits as well as the Magnex system from cat back? What about N.Ireland delivery

Got a few small rust bubbles that need sorted. They are on the drivers wing, panel below the number plate and just in front of the drivers rear wheel below the rubber trim. I have a quote of £ 400 to get those areas resprayed which includes the bonnet(stone chips) and sunroof(got hit with a stone when tilted). I'm just afraid about the paint matching. Any of you guys got it done or have any advice??? PS: Know any good scrappers to get corrado parts on the cheap??

Just got the C tested yesterday and it passed with flying colours. However i think I was on to a good thing from the start. The first thing the tester said to me was not 'give me your appointment card', BUT 'did you see Top Gear a few weeks ago'!!! Then a few more of the testers came over to discuss the cars future cult classic status. I thought that was pretty cool.

Have come across a few of you on the site eg. 146joc + Dan. I see a few around belfast but very few VR6 and no Storms. Have come across at least two Storms in ROIreland even though C were never released in ROIreland! Where are you all hiding?

Where did you get the 16" RS4 alloys and how much? They sound like just the ticket!!
