Just developed a major fuel leak on my VR6, coming from directly underneath the engine more on the drivers side. The car had been off the road for over a year but has recently risen from the dead! I suspect one of the hoses has expired............. Any thoughts or similar problems............. Btw it is absolutely pissing out!!!! :shock:

Just relocated my VR6 from Belfast to Sheffield, so i'm looking recommendations for tech problems. Unfortunately i've developed a serious fuel leak. It's pissing out from underneath the engine! :shock: It was off the road for over a year so i assume a pipe has expired.......... A few names & numbers would be great, hoping to get it sorted on Friday :) Cheers.............

Just a quiery as to anyone who has their C on classic insurance. Just got mine back on the road after a year(engine packed in! :( ) & am looking to put it on classic as i have an M3 as my main car. Added it onto my M3 policy till July, they said the C hasn't got classic status yet?????? Any advice or suggestions................ Cheers........

Cheers for the advice guys, but got my repair guy to talk to Vince and my engine is RIP. Vince had not come across what has happened to mine before. So if you know of any engines out there PM me. I've just been very unlucky. Vince is a very helpful bloke!

Just had a shed load of work done to my VR6: Upper and lwr timing chains and guides Lwr chain tensioner No. 6 Exhaust valve camshaft sprocket and bolt Head gasket skimmed and bolts replaced Rib belt tensioner Got the car back and two days later oil pressure died. NOW the shaft that drives the oil pump has shapped, problem i'm told is thst the shaft can be replaced BUT the bearing is part of the engine and CANNOT. So only option is a new engine, apparently! Pretty hacked off as you can imagine. Am i unlucky or is the latest failure related to other work. Any alternatives to a new engine????? Thanks........

There's an ABV VR6 engine on ebay, but from an auto. Mine is a manual, i presume it doesn't matter? My feked engine is also ABV, so i could put sum of the new stuff(chains tensioners etc) on the new one. At least i won't have peed all the money down the swaney!!!! :x

Just been told my engine is RIP :( , so need to source a good 2nd hand one ASAP. Anybody got one or know where is a good place to strat to look??? Cheers.........

Mine is coing it too, but it's been ID'd. Mine gets louder as the revs increase and does it out of gear also. Its the lower tensioner and also one of the chains is gouging the guide rails. I saw it when the mechanic had the engine out to skim the head recently. Getting the chains, guides and lwr tensioner replaced on the 14th.

You can see it sparking just where the lead goes into the plug on the engine block. It ONLY happens when the car is cold. Would it be due to moisture contaminating it. The lead and plug is new?????????

Took one for a test drive yesterday. Defo quicker than my VR6, nice but it's still a golf. It was a DSG, deadly gear changes but still prefer the nob in my hand(no pun intended!) Sounds sweet too but less boomy then the MK4........... Anybody else tried one???????????

Had the lead replaced a few months ago but it began sparking again a few weeks later. When ever it sparks it's causing a mis-fire a little. What could be causing it? Just been serviced with 6 new plugs. Could it be a faulty lead? Ta.

Yea, it is working at all 4 speeds. I got it from Eurocarparts. The noise increases as you progress from 1-4, not as loud as before but it does appear that something is holding it back............ :?:

The bearings were nackered on the old one for ages, so I bit the bullet and got a new one. Now i know the std one could cook a turkey but the new one has 20% of the puff of the old one. Am i missing something??????? HELP. :x

What's the cheapest fix for this? Do i just need to get a new motor, and if so where is the cheapest place to get it. Cheers..........

This has been going on for feking ages and is doing my head in. It squeals when the wheel is rotating but seems to almost go away when you left foot brake while still travelling along. When coming to a stop it can be quite noisey too. I have changed the pads, discs and the caliper on that side at it's still doing it. What else could be causing it???????? The piston on the old caliper was a bit dodgy and i think it has warpped the new disc(a bit of shuddering on braking). Also at speed the steering shakes as if the wheels aren't balanced but they just were balanced. Please HELP!!! :mad:

Looking to replace my lupo wiper blades and i originally got 2 driver arms and blades. I know the best combo is 2 driver arms and a driver and pass blade. The driver blade is 19" (i think), what length is the pass blade????????????? :?:

This is doing my head in! My mechanic is running out of ideas for this one. Coming from drivers side from only, squeals when cruising along then the squealing disappears when braking and you get a knocking noise when coming to a stop. Have tried new pads and discs and anti squealing gel. It's fine for a day or 2 after work is done to it, then it comes back just to piss me off!!! :x The wheel spins freely when jacked up. Could it be a dodgy caliper???? Please please help....................... :(

Are you running Toyo's? I've had that problem for months and my mechanic exhausted all possible reasons apart from tyres. Got new F1's today and the noise appears to be gone!!!

I did the lupo wiper conversion less than a year ago and it was a great improvement. Now the wipers are shuddering across the screen and are generally pretty crap. I got two driver arms and blades(part nos. 405/406, i can't remember which). In the post about the wipers here. the part numbers seem to be different now and also the best combo is 2 driver arms and a driver and passenger blade. The ones i got came as a blade and arm unit and i can't see any way of re-placing the blades only???????????? Can anybody put me right. :?:

I've got a squealing noise from drivers side wheel. Doing some left foot braking while cruising along almost eliminates it but when braking to a stop the noise is worse. This has been going on for months and has been taken to the garage too many times to remember. The pads have been replaced(genuine vw) and also the discs. Anti squeal gel has been put on the packs of the pads, no change! Could it be the 3mm spacer. I just dont get it, why it's only the drivers side. I will drive the car off a cliff unless it stops asap. Please help. Cheers. :(

Mine are cracked and want them replaced. Maybe the indicator lens too. Think they are £70 at the stealers. Anybody know where i can get new ones cheaper???

I am running std suspension. The noise has been getting progressively worse but i don't remember it being a problem when i got the tyres and rims initially. Got the Toyos on new 16" RS4 rims. The tracking and camber has been done very recently. I suppose i colud stick the std rims back on see if it does it with them on. Clutching at straws here! Cheers for the advice so far....... :(

Just had new discs cos thought it was that too!!! I really don't think it's the tyres either. Im stumpted and so is my mechanic. HELP HELP HELP!!!!! :x
