  2. Been offered a g60 at a fairly decent price, engines good but the bodywork leads a lot to be desired, so was looking at swapping the engine into my 16v daily and then start collecting all I need for a 16v g60. I've got an idea of how easy the swap should be, could the 8v swap be possible in a day( 2 people working on it brakes and everything)?

  10. finaly 2 weeks later My JOM coilovers arrived and friday night we set about fiting them. plenty of seized bolts etc. Heres the end result someone tried squeezing a fag packet under the spoiler really enjoying this view Going to wind the front up a bit this morning, just sitting a tad lower than Im liking. Had to use a set of 10mm spacers to help the tires clear the coilovers and I think it helps fill the arches nicely
  11. changed the spacers upto 10mm both front and back, now need a new front tire...bugger
  12. Planning to head down this week, been a bit busy with work and family stuff, just got to hope these spacers fit and stop the rear coils fowling on the wheel.

  14. Ended up last night, with a lot of swearing, a bent axle stand+ 2 weary brothers. Now I've got to plan my route to avoid any or all speedbumps! Fitted my JOM coilovers, car sits nice and low now, haven't had her out for a proper run + set up yet, got to get a set of spacers for the rears, so that's my job for this morning lol

  20. I was looking at respraying it an early porsche or audi colour but this one has truly grown on me...and you dont see many about Ive been looking into getting a paint code for the respray so any help is apreciated
  21. took the car into work today to look for that oil leak and narrowed it down a bit, there is a leak from the rocker cover. Anyways, decided after giving it a foam and a wash at my dads last night, 2bm and a good clay using autoglyms clay and dodo's born slippy just to clean the paint up and get rid of the overspray and the galons of tree sap. anyways, I gave it a rinse of and dried it and puled it into one of the valet bays, out came the buffer and my weapons of choice was Dodo's Lime prime on a 3m yellow pad. I worked round the car, as Im planning to get a full respray in a few months this was just a brighten up. car was waxed...but will leave the wax my little secret. as the wax was left the rims were treated to Megs NX metal polish on a Microfibre, and Wire wool on the zorst. wax was buffed off and the windows treated to a double dose of Rain-X, before buffing the rain-x the interior was given a good hoovering and the dash a going over with swabs, brushes and a microfibre. enough chit chat heres the end result

    sloppy change

Had a word with one of the techs at work and he was going to have a look at it, I thought it was going to be something bigger than it was(like the time the golf ball in the shifter went on my mk1...easy job). he was busy tonight so I had a quick look and a quick trip to halfords(came out with a little more than I went in for) and 10mins later I had a fully functional shifter. Using a ramp at work on sat to try and find were the oil is coming from so I may do the gearbox oil while Ive got the chance
  23. well thats 2 of us doing the 16vt in the area. I was going looking at doing an engine rebuild soon(depends were this oils is leaking) and the funds are available, should be fun
