Yes! Couldn't get my head around it at first. Some fantastic work done there and the interior is very neat as well with what looked like old oak flooring! -

Weather looks good, a massive 5 degrees according to the BBC! I will be going, but in a friends MK2 golf rather than my C which isn't MOT'd yet :( -
It seems the answer was yes. I've searched around and don't want to start another thread, so is it okay to remove the plastic oil pump baffle and fit a windage tray with the standard sump? Or will this mean there are no baffles or anything keeping oil around the pump pickup? Thanks
-
Trying to remove the sump on my G60, I have taken out all the bolts including the 2 gearbox end ones. Upon trying to work it off at every conceivable angle, it seems the bottom metal water pipe is in the way. Do people drain coolant and remove this to get the sump off? Thanks
-
When you drained it you should have had the heater controls on hot so that the water in the heater matrix core can be drained too. So when you're filling it best to have it on hot too so water can get round the whole system again.

Always good to keep squeezing the top coolant tube as well.

Is this for the VR?
-
Is it from the back of the throttle body? Pretty sure it's to do with carbon canister removal as mine is cut off and blocked. Here's a diagram for removing the canister that might help

Any Raddo owners in the North East?
JonnyG60 replied to Hofmiester's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
I'm at university in Durham but will only have my Corrado up later in the year from April. timthetinyhorse, your VR looks very very clean! -
Doh I was too late! I'll take it if 'science' doesn't.

How old are you, and how long have you had your Corrado/Corrado's?

I'm 20 and love my G60! :) Too many ideas and not enough student loan though! -
Just wondered if I'd be seeing any other Corrados at Silverstone Classic next week end?

Hi, thanks for the replies. I undid the bolts and put it back together holding that nut/guide pin still but just though as it did spin at first it may have knocked alignment but clearly it doesnt do that. I've cleaned all the calliper and pads and re-greased the back so im thinking it may be the piston which is the problem. I did notice some fluid on the rubber around the piston... I should point out that these are actually new VAG callipers put on 6 months ago but have only done 800 miles or so and I only noticed this recently. I can tell that the break is rubbing as i can here it squeaking when driving slowly in traffic or wherever. (The guy put on some silly ferrodo pads so they squeak a lot!) I shall check that guide pin properly and then perhaps get the calliper piston looked at. Thanks guys.

Hello, finally got my wheel alignment sorted which was way off but the car is still pulling to the left. Realised that the front left brake is rubbing slightly. So I had a go a cleaning the pads up using the Wiki guide: http://wiki.the-corrado.net/front_brakes_removal_and_refitting_guide.html Put them back together and its still rubbing, if not a little more! My question is that at "Step 5: the calliper to take this off you will need a 13mm socket and a spanner to hold the nut," what happens if the nut that should be held still actually spins? Does this align the calliper with the disc? If so how do I align it properly? Thanks :)

Engine bay is the money shot! Lovely car.

Yh looks like the later ones would make in run lower. That would be really kind if you could post them to my uni address, I shall PM you. I have to drive 300 miles from Guildford to Durham tomorrow, so will have to drive it as it was on there before. I figure it must have lasted like that quite a while anyway. Do you have the part numbers as I may try my luck with the dealers now?
-
3Corsameal that's awesome! Thank you, made it a lot clear. I ordered the top mounts from VWspares and i guess they just off one type then. But i can't find a late top mount and plate on VagCat, they all seem to be the same for the G60. Or should i go for these http://www.vwspares.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=420 Listed as VR6 and 1995 2.0 & rep part number 357412331A?
-
I wondered that but it would still tough the top mount plate. Spring stop? Just managed to read part number of the spring plate 357412341A.... VAGCAT says G60 shouldnt have the A after. Thinking these ones are for VR6. EDIT: This is part number 357412341. It's more coned and taller. Is the top of the cone meant to touch the bearing in the middle of top mount and then its all good? Thank you for help!

Okay got pictures now. Clearly the two metal plates shouldnt be touching but I cant see what is meant to lift the top mount up? Top plate: Bottom of mount:

Thanks I will have a look again later today and get a picture to see what's what.

Hello everyone, Having a problem with my front struts on 92 G60. When i turn almost full lock the front top mounts creak and moan and then when i drive straight again it pulls to the side i turned to. I replaced the top mounts and could see there were scoring marks on the top plates of the bilstein shocks and springs where the metal plate of the top mount had been rubbing. Anyway, replace the top mounts and it was fine for a mile long drive then next time i drove it, i was back to square one... Anyone have any ideas why this is? I spoke to Darren not too long ago who mentioned maybe I needed mk3 golf top mounts but I'm sure they are the same as corrado ones looking at the part numbers. This is the vagcat diagram, and I'm sure ive not missed anything out or lost anything! http://www.vagcat.com/p/B076/102000.png
