How many LK5T Inca Blue Corrado's are there?
welshside replied to Ralphead's topic in General Car Chat
I've got an inca blue g60 too, didn't realise till I tried to find some touch up paint. -
Thanks for the offer. If I can't find one I'll take you up on it.

Hi, has anyone got an exterior right hand side door handle screw. It's opposite thread for some reason. Part No. N 102 660 01 (M6 x 12 LH thread) Thanks, Scott

I'm in Newport, any chance you can post it? How much do you want for it? Thanks
-
Thanks for the reply but it's not that bolt. It's the one at the bottom that attaches to the bracket on the body panel and the back rest pivots on.

I have just swapped the cloth seats in my 91 G60 for leather ones. One of the bolts for the rear is missing, the one that attaches the backrest part to the side of the car. Has anyone got a spare lying around or know where I can get one. Cheers, Scott

Alarm goes off when fuel/fan afterrun kick in
welshside replied to welshside's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
I've tried to find the alarm unit to make some adjustments to the sensitivity but it's no sign of it. I've looked under the steering wheel around by the fuse box, in the centre console and behind/under the glovebox and just can't find it. I have traced a few of the wires back to the fusebox but I'm guessing they go into the fusebox and not the alarm module. Is there room behind or on top of the fusebox for it, that's the only thing I can think of. Has anyone got any suggestions to common places fitters usually hide it? -
Alarm goes off when fuel/fan afterrun kick in

With the brown connector unplugged I don't have drain issues and the battery is fine, but I still have alarm problems. I think in theory I can change the sensitivity of the alarm then set it and test it by touching the after run sensor and rocker cover with a screw driver to get the fan running. -
Alarm goes off when fuel/fan afterrun kick in
welshside replied to welshside's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
It's probably not related but my windows also still work without the ignition on, I thought they were only meant to work for a bit after the ignitions turned off. I was having battery drain problems which I tracked back to the central locking/electric windows module behind the drivers seat. I have pulled the brown plug out which has stopped the battery drain, but I'm having to live without working windows. Another thing on my never shrinking list of things to get sorted. -
Alarm goes off when fuel/fan afterrun kick in

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll try and get to the alarm unit to have a play about with the sensitivity adjuster to see if it makes a difference. The battery is pretty new and holds charge pretty well so I don't think it's that. I thought the fuel pump was meant to run on a bit to clear the vapour or something. -
I've got a Toad alarm that goes off after a few minutes if the car has just been used and is warm, if I leave it a while to cool down and then turn the alarm on I have no problems. I am guessing the fan/fuel pump afterrun are causing it to go off when they kick in. Has anyone got any suggestions of things to look at to fix the problem before I spend some money on an auto electrician to take a look.

I came across this video earlier and really enjoyed it so thought I would share. It's kind of a Worthersee video with a difference, a short documentary and includes a Corrado gearbox change in a car park.

I just spotted a dark one on the F1 show when they were doing a segment at the brunel motorsport centre. Couldn't see much of it though.

I'm glad it's been re-listed, I was enjoying the sellers answers to all the questions. It's the ebay add that keeps on giving
-
Well it is a special edition 'the kid in the boot goes with the car, this is non negotiable, he came with the car he stays with it.' I don't think many came with that as standard.

Big thanks to daves16v for a bush and cotter pin for gear stick and plenty of helpful advice.

This is the best thing I've seen on ebay in a while http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mercedes-E320-Cdi-/230996655784

I've seen a guide for adjusting it somewhere on here, just hope if it doesn't effect the other gears. Second is the only one that's a problem really. I better change the gearbox oil as well as I'm not sure when that was done last.
-
It was a bit awkward getting the bush in level but a few cycles of loosening and then tightening the nut and bolt it was fine. It's a nicer feel now with less play. I was hoping it would help with the problem I have of getting into second, but I still need to be quite firm to get it in, I don't know if this causes excessive stress on the bush causing it to fail.

I got the parts today, thanks Dave. I've just been having a look at what needs to be done and I can now see what needs to be cut to get the gear stick out (I think). I'm guessing a bit needs to be cut out here to allow the shaft to be removed, is that the only way apart from dropping it out through the bottom? I'm not a fan of cutting the car, but even less of a fan of removing the exhaust to drop the gear stick out.
-
I've just sent you a message about parts, thanks. Hopefully it won't be too hard a job if I can get the gear stick out through the top, will give me a bit of room.
-
That would be awesome mate, how much? I found a thread on another forum where the gear stick can come out from the top on a mk3 golf I think http://forums.thecarlounge.com/showthread.php?2857147-DIY-Revamping-Shifter....-New-Bushings....-Shorter-Throw Please tell me you can do the same with the corrado (even if it's a lie)

I can't really get to my local dealer to get the parts I need, but can probably find them mail order somewhere. It doesn't look like I can get the bush that fits inside the cable end separately and cables cost quite a bit. It seems a bit overkill replacing the whole cable just because a small cheap bush. It looks like I have the same problem as this http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?4525122-Can-i-pull-the-gear-selector-rod-out-the-top Has anyone made any replacement bushes or found aftermarket ones that fit?
-
Can you get the bush separate or is it built into the cable and what else am I missing, is it just a washer and pin for the end? Has anyone got the part numbers?
