just had a flickr through this thread. serious commitment here and it shows off. the car looks mint. hard work always pays off. loving the leather and other interior bits.

Got some complete arse budget coilovers for my '90 valver. The only plus point is they go -130. After a little bit of messing around ive got them on with the order going

spring > plate > that solid rubber top mount thing with the bearing inside it > car > top plate > nut.

Is this correct? :scratch: There seems to be a fair bit of play in the struts, and it's got the usual problem of the top mounts poking out about half an inch from under the bonnet. (worse on lock to lock)

I've heard about replacing top mounts for the later vr6 ones. Could someone help me out?:thumbleft:

How big of a job is it? Like does the cassette come out as a whole once the headlinings out the way or?

thanks rod. if rod here have one, ima just weld it as i havnt got much money. anyone indicate where exactly to spot weld? or boost monkey, part number for the solid mk2 pulley? is it just a straight swap?

so if i understand right, you swap all the pulleys from the 9a engine, and run just 1 longer auxiliary belt that runs off the crank to drive all ancillaries which will all have single pulleys?

Can be spot welded but fitting the 2.0 pulley system is the best way forward.

when changing the cambelt today this pulley fell apart in my hands. i peiced it back together best i could but there's a lot of play between the two pulleys and it now 'ticks' when the engine's on. Part is obs from vdub, so has anyone got one? :)

no sorry these are £55 each new and postage will be about a fiver recorded i think £45 is a good fair price you can get £15 each for yours on ebay if their not cracked

ive replaced the relay and fixed the box. but i'll still have the badge and splitter. how much collected?

i'm having this issue currently. did it ever get sorted?

oh okay. which relays should i be replacing? fuel pump is number 12. is there an ecu power relay?

yeah a few are corroded/burnt looking. how would that cause the intermittent problem though, stuttering/not starting etc?

how do i check relays? and yeah everything still works even without a spark.
