The "what I did to my Corrado today" thread...
peterdinosaur replied to Jim's topic in General Car Chat
Terrible day today, managed to set my engine bay on fire :(............ Long and short of it is not to leave the oil cap off when going for a drive, because when oil meets the hot manifold it likes to ignite. Thankfully it all happened on my drive so no damage to anything but my ego. Also bled the front brakes and stopped a nasty grating noise when braking! So not all bad :D. -
Hey all, thought i would just finish this thread as i changed the slave cylinder this past weekend and all is working :D!! Thank you all for your help and advise.

Tbh it is black and full of grit, same for stuff on the road. Not particularly helpful sorry. Don't worry about sounding patronising, I didn't have any idea that hydraulic fluid was pinky in colour (even after putting some in :()
-
Thanks for the quick reply, I did top up the fluid earlier today, and it made the brakes feel a bit better (was below min in the reservoir :S), but the clutch still feels very spongy, and has a low bite point. I just went and had a quick look round that area, and tbh couldn't tell if anything was coming off the cylinder as it was all so mucky. There was defiantly some possible fluid behind it though. The main reason for the suggestion of the slave cylinder is because of the spongy pedal.

Hey all, I have found a puddle of some fluids under my corrado today, and the brake fluid low warning light has come on. There is a puddle of fluid underneath the linkage to the gearbox (in picture) and I was going to change the slave cylinder and bleed the system. I was just checking that that is the right thing to do, and that there isn't another problem. Peter

Hahaha, Thanks for everyone looking and helping. I am going to side with the it just wont fit option. Did have my suspicions when I first put them on but also hoped a little trickery could have made them fit, but as you all say it would involve a lot of work, which tbh aint worth it. Thanks again, and if anyone is looking for some alloys which really don't fit a corrado you know who to message!! :)

Interesting. I shall measure it tomorrow and get back to you. I agree that mine look very different to that.

They are image 3 piece splits. Couldn't tell you which image design it is as it looks similar to so many. Afraid they where bought secondhand (I know I should have checked the fitting better) but may still contact image and see if they have any ideas. Otherwise shall look into the other suggestions here and see where to go from there. Oh and the rear tyre is 215, just checked. Many Thanks Peter

These are my new alloys on my car. And as you can see they don't quiet fit under the arches. The wheels are 17 x 8" at front 17 x 8.5" at the rear. ET is low (don't actually no tbh, probably around 15-20) I am looking for advise on getting them under the arches. I have looked at camber shims for the rear, and the possibility of stretching the tyres. (Currently 215 40 17). Any help would be great! Many Thanks Peter

Hello all, and great forum, has persuaded me to go and get my first Corrado today, and what a car! Only one small niggle with my new car and that is that the throttle pedal is a little sticky and i was looking to change the throttle cable, but can't seem to find anywhere to buy one. I was hoping someone would know where to look for one, if not I have been on speedy cables [edited] which looks like they could make me one, but I don't know what ends or length I would need. Any help would be greatly appreciated! And I shall get some pictures of the rado up as soon as possible!
