Hi, For sale are the Shocks and Springs (front and rear) from my 1993 VR6 Corrado. Only taken off to lower for track days. Working fine when i took them off and car had passed its MOT less than 2 mths prior to removal. £10 the lot! Heavy item so will need to be collected from Westbury, Wilts. They are used so the surface rust and dirt is for free! I have them advertised on Ebay for 7 days, if they dont sell they will end up in the skip next weekend. Thanks for looking

VR6 | Bordeaux Pearl | Westbury - Wilts Price: £800.00 Description: Here is my VR6 Corrado Track Car, which I have completed 6 track days this year in (some of you will have helped me with parts / advise along the way so a big thanks from me). It is mechanically very good and doesn’t burn or leak oil / water etc – my garage floor is very clean! I am also selling my Car Trailer which I use to transport to and from circuits – so if someone is looking for a full set to start trackdays - I could do a deal for the both at £1200. I have the car advertised on eBay starting at £800 but ideally would l want it to go to a forum member who could enjoy it as a track car and keep their daily Rado intact, so would take the initial £800 directly on here. It does have MOT until end of Nov 2012, No Tax (currently on SORN) but is much better left to continue as a track car, and the car is on 130K (it’s a 1993 L reg). The body work isn’t great so it wont ever be a show car (there is some poor rust repairs, some lacquer coming off, odd small dent, stone chipped bonnet etc – good track type stickers will make it all look much better but I never really got round to that) so please don’t expect it to be super tidy – that’s not what its for – its been a fast, powerful, lightweight track car. I have many photos of it out on the track, so please email me if you need to see some. In the 8 months I have owned it I have had the below replaced: • New Radiator • New Oil Cooler seals • New racing pads - front and back – Ferodo DS2500 Front / Black Diamond – Predator back. (Spare pads also supplied) • Grooved and Cross Drilled front discs ( spare set of discs supplied) • Decat pipe fitted with brand new Lamda sensor fitted this month (Aug 12). I have the original Cat with shield and lambda I can throw in if needed. • New Bonnet cable • Polybushes - Front Rear and Front of Front • New Springs and shocks (Lowered 60mm / 40mm), then 4 wheel alignment by VW Dealer in July 12 • 4 point harness 8 Wheels, 4 original speedlines on car with tyres for dry days, plus 4 Golf GTI wheels with excellent tyres – ideal for wet days All electrics work ie: sunroof (although very slow), windows and spoiler all ok. Toad Ai606 immobiliser - all working inc remote. The service history shows: Main Dealer printout - 6100 / 17133 / 26368 / 37530 / 46212 / 79206 / 87141 / 113773 miles (merc dealer) /119624 (I bought the car on approx. 129K)miles Other major items done - Engine mountings / Starter motor and Heater Matrix invoices over the past 7 years. I am located in Westbury – Wilts, and OK with feedback / suggestions, just PM me.

Hi, I am putting on my vr6 decat and cannot get the old oxygen sensor out of the old cat pipe - the thread on the screw is very bad. Does anyone have a working Oxygen sensor for a VR6 for sale please? Car is in bits not and needs to be back at Castle Combe for the 6th so happy to come and collect 28- 29th July. Thanks

Hi, Can you tell me how much posted to Wiltshire please (unless you are local?). Thanks
-
Hi, as an update, full 4 wheel alignment now sorted on my VR6 done VW Hertiage in Westbury - all seems good. I did notice when getting it off the trailer at home the ABS light now wont go off? is it possible they have nudge / broken / forgotten to put a cable on ? as they would have been round the back of the wheels quite a lot?
-
Hi, yes looks like a pipe missing, so - next question - where can i get one from and do you know the part no. / name for it if i call VW.? Thanks for helping on that one - and i've done 4 track days in it and havent noticed any lumping running - and last week i was proper chuffed that it passed a scooby, clio 183 thingy, my mates 328i and some wooss in a M3. Next one which I am apprehensive about – Header tank pressure! Normal level when cold, when hot , its right at the top of the tank. All hoses hot, no milk in oil cap, no oil in header tank, no water or oil loss at all – is it HG or easier?
-
Ok, sounds like a good diagnosis - is this piping shown in the Bently manual somewhere so i can see if its attached at the end?

Hi, I’ve noticed that I am getting steam ( i presume its steam) out of the small tube on what I presume is the Crank Case Breather? is that right? and should small amounts of steam at idle come out of here? Ive only really started looking as when at Castle Coombe last week my expansion tank looked completely full due to pressure build up, (fans working ok - water gets to about 90ish and oil about 130ish after 6-7 laps and all cools down ok) so i let it idel today with exp cap off and again it gets to fill the tank, when cold its bang on the mark - whats causing this? No mush in oil cap, no oil leak, no oil in water.

Hi, i have a similar problem on my VR6 (as shown in the photo attached from Castle Combe on Monday - is yours anything like that?) where the OSF wheel is well out! im planning on getting it all sorted at VW (Oval i think) on the Westbury Trading estate in the next week or so, so i will let you know.

Hey DriverVR6 - no i didnt set up the tracking and camber, just swapped the shocks and springs. are these DIY jobs?
-
Hi, thanks to both for replying, makes me feel much better ref the top mounts. Pads - im prob going to try the ferodo ds2500's for next months outing.
-
Silly question i know - but i need some help here please. I did another Castle Combe session today in my VR6 (great weather, very sticky track, lots of fun and my corrado survived another track outing!) but i do have a suspension challenge. Inbetween outings i changed the shocks and springs all round for a lowered and uprated set ( not adjustable) and i thought i put it all back together correctly, but its not holding the corners as well as expected. When looking under the bonnet with the wheel turned, one top mount tilts back and the other forward ( vice versa when steering wheel put on lock the other way) but when straightened up they look levelish, even if they look quite high out of the top socket bit. The other guys at CC today reckon the top mounts shouldnt move like that? are they correct? Any thoughts / ideas please? Also - Predator pads - I changed discs and pads before today - all Black Diamond ( combi discs and predator pads) and the front pads have completely gone - metal to metal in one AM session, so any recommendations on racing pads?

Hey, thanks for the replies, and part numbers etc, i will get some from VW.
-
Hi, - odd request i know, but i am after the screws that hold the front discs on for my VR6. Mine arent there so changing the wheels over at the track is a pain, to hold the disc in place while i get the wheel on. Posted price please if anyone has a spare set????? Thanks

Hi, they are quite thin plastic and flimsy so i wouldnt trust posting them tbh, and Guernsey is quite a trek for the old bits of plastic.

Hi, I have various bits of interior trim that I need to get rid of to make space, so I am after an offer of £20 for the lot really to be collected from Westbury, Wilts. I need to clear the space, so if no offers (they are odd random bits I had stored and left over from stripping my 1993 VR6 track car, so I thought they may help someone?) by this weekend, I will need to skip them. Incase the photos arent very clear: Rear Wiper motor and arm etc - all working Both rear seat belts Passenger sunvisor Centre bit around the handbrake and ashtray Both front door cards Space saver wheel - Used - I forgot this when I had the camera out! Thanks

Hi Glos, all gone im afraid.

Hey, i havent done much to it really, blocked the larger of the two pipes, and tied up in the same place it was before and the fuel breather, i pushed the pipe down inside the inner wing as there was a hole about the right size. I havent touched and sensors or valves - do i need to?
-
Hi, ive taken my CC out yesterday (to gain more airflow ready for its next track outing at Castle Combe later this month), blocked the big tube and put the smaller one down into the inner wing, as i have seen lots about this on many threads here. There is a strong smell of fuel ( i expected some) now, which i am worried about as the car is in the garage under my daughters bedroom, so is this still safe? Can the fuel breather be blocked partially? How strong a smell should i expect?

Hi captainredeye, PM'd you. So for now these wheels are sold.

Hi, i have my spare set of speedlines from my VR6 for sale. As you can see they are quite well corroded and quite scruffy. They all have tyres with lots of tread, shown in the pics, and two hold air very well, two go down after a few days. I had these as a spare set for the track but need the space. They will make ideal refurbs, and i did have them on my car, but be sure they will need refurbing as they are tatty... if you want closer up photos let me know via PM. £20 quid for the set collected from Westbury

Hi, there are many threads on removing the CC, so i didnt know which one to join, anyway - ive removed mine today to improve the airflow (ready for its next track outing at Castel Combe later this month), so i have followed the advice - block the larger tube and put the smaller fuel tank tube down into the inner wing. Started the car - all runs fine, but there is quite a bad petrol smell ( i expected some!) and as the car is the in gge under my daughters bedroom im a bit worried about the fumes. How blocked, if at all can the fuel vent pipe be? and what sort of fumes is everyone else getting once the CC has been removed? Cheers.
