  1. cheers chap, not long now... make the trip down from sunny scotland to this year's E38 , I'll try not to disappoint... off to Leeds in 4 hrs to drop of half the interior for trimming. Time for some sleep, finished work on the car about 30 mins ago!
  2. Nasty, is someone breaking it for parts or something? Wouldn't have thought there would be many useable parts left..?? Not a nice sight!!
  3. Right boys and girls.. this is going to be one of my last post on the project before E38... Taking a day off work to ferry some of the interior to the trimmers on Monday so I'm against the clock to finish as much as I can! Here are some pics from this evening... Passengers door card is almost complete as with everything else. Modified the 'A' pillars to fit the dash and bolted the dash into place, just need to bolt down the centre arm rest tomorrow... Very impressed with how sturdy the dash is, it was a good idea to use the factory mounting points IMHO. Still lots to do but the dash is staying in the car for a couple more weeks while I finish everything off... the seats etc are going to the trimmers.
  4. That is the best corrado in the world!!
  5. Bright orange C with bodykit and volkdraft (or similar) on the rear screen, Going towards Kings lynn. Also saw a dark coloured VR6 on my way home also going towards Kings Lynn, anyone?
  6. Managed to get some longer hex bolts for the VC, need to chop off about 4mm and then they are the right size.. just trying to get as much done on the interior so those bolts will have to wait. Coxy, you might as well crack on and paint the thing. If not just do the inside for the time being... you keeping it yellow? Paul and Coxy are you going to be at E38?
  7. brings back memories of our road trip to Worthersee in May! 840miles in one day... hey Chris..

  10. You got it fitted Paul? Whats the story with the bolts, I plan to get some this weekend if I have time, so you reckon we need 8mm longer bolts? Ben
  11. YES, I saw one the other day, I do have to agree with you on that! Could only find a pic of a mk1 but its the mk2 that looks similar.

  14. I've come late to this thread as usual.. I don’t think its fair to shout too much at people who build ‘cheque book’ cars. There may be a number of reasons why they have done so; they may not have the relevant skills, tools, space, the budget or time to carry out such crazy mods as some of us are doing… whistle… This may or may not be relevant but here goes… I can only comment on what I have experienced and thus relating a couple of points towards my project car rather than the one in question. When my corrado eventually makes it out of the garage for E38 (fingers crossed), it won't be perfect, I never intended it to be perfect. I used the project to learn new techniques and skills and further my knowledge of the general engineering process. Most of the work was done by myself, yes the paint was sprayed by body shop but I did 50% of the prep work, modified the front bumper and plastic welded the rear bumper. I didn’t do the floor pan conversion myself but I can safely say that I was too inexperience to tackle this back in 2002 and therefore saved the cash and out soured it to Awesome Gti Store, which incidentally did a good job even if it took them 8 months to do  However I think I’m able to say I’ve done everything else myself and or with friends or advice from friends …… Look at the dash for example, built pretty much from scratch and I learnt how to work with glass fiber and filler to a reasonable level from doing this, knew jack all before hand I can assure you!! Anyway I look forward to hearing what people have to say about my car and others at E38. Whether the comments are good or bad I’m not fussed, I can take constructive criticism, but at the end of the day mine was built for me, not for anybody else, any magazines etc, although I welcome a feature if it is deemed good enough for one  BTW I warn anybody planning to take lots of close up pictures of mine as it has loads of dirt in the engine bay, scratches on the paint work and the leather re-trim will most likely have its floors. My 2 pence worth… I say bring on E38!! If its finished my car will be on the CCGB stand, no pansy show and shine (joke)… I forgot to mention that I like Lee's car, you have at least one fan Lee 8)
  15. Agreed, he isn't the right person for the job...

  18. lol, sorry bud.. didn't have time to take any pics, give me a couple of weekends and I'll get some sorted just for you... I'm going to document and post all the pictures I have of the project from start to finish (about 1200 so far) on my website ( http://www.dubland.co.uk ) soon when I get the time so you'll be able to look at them all day/night long!
  19. GazzaG60 I firmly beleive the VR6 induction noise is up there with the big boys!!! I don't have one, so to hear one as a passenger once in while is pretty damn special 8) The VR6 boys need as much help as they can get
  20. Well around town / low 30's... on the run to work around 37MPG (heavy traffic / 40MPH roads) and on a long run 50MPG+ Last month I managed to do two weeks of normal daily driving, a run down to Oxford and a run to Wales (just over 600 miles) on about 50 quids worth of diesel. Incredibly, the 150PD seems able to match these figures too.. For £40 of juice (pretty much a full tank) I normally get 450 miles, I don't hang about either!
  21. I think I might, although I'm in deep negotiations to purchase a mate’s Corrado V5 as a replacement daily driver… 8)
  22. In no order: Aston Martin DB7 Vantage with factory exhaust up grade Guy H's R32 AMD stage 3 TVR (all of them..lol) Ultima GTR Corrado VR6 with a big air filter!!! Nicest induction noise from any car I've been in!
