  1. CoxyLaad, Simple answer is I don't know. It is something that I would want to be able to do if its possible. I've had it with components not working and packing up on me! This is my 3rd MAP sensor, all from just a couple of backfires. Anyway kinda good news, I just called Haltech direct and they are sending me another for half the price of Jabba! £65 to my door + import duty if I get done.. Should be with me by Thursday, I'm not cutting it close am I !! Coxy it would be good to meet at the weekend if your going to be at the show, maybe you can show me on the laptop how to potentially fire the sparks individually! Would be good if I can. I now have to go and get some more oil as the sump has filled up with damn fuel again! There's another £20 gone! Why didn’t I just by a reliable, quick car in the first place!! Nightmare..
  2. Phil K, Its a mk2 16v item.. a nice touch and just rounds off the front end a bit IMO. Thanks Jay for that mod :) G60Renshaw, yeah yeah... Mate I'm trying to get this sodding thing started for the show. I am phoning Haltech in Australia tonight to order a new MAP sensor. Still haven't had a chance to do what I planned to do today, so might be a long day tomorrow!
  3. After a whole day wasted trying to get the damn thing started again, I think I have found what the problem is.. I think I have damaged the Haltech MAP sensor again.. :( this is the second one and at a mere £100 from Jabba they aren't cheap! All it takes is a single large back fire to damage the diaphragm in the MAP sensor and that’s that. Seeing as its bank holiday tomorrow I'm going to try getting one from Haltech themselves but they are based in Australia so I just hope I can get another before next weekend! I still have so much to do before next weekend, starting to get a little stressed now! Not going to bring it unless its running as it will be a nightmare moving it too and from the campsite… bloody cars.. grrrrrr :bad-words: Here's a quick sneak pic...
  4. I think it might have just been the batt! Its dead. Got it on trickle charge at the moment, so fingers crossed, just maybe, it might start when fully charged. Think the ECU doesn't like not having a full 12V. Just a pain, will see tomorrow! You cracking on ok Jay? B
  5. Typical!! The engine decided not to start this evening after being run on many occasions during the day. I can't put my finger on why this is and its just typical with less than a week until E38... grrrrrrrr
  6. cheers Guys.. looking forward to a few cold ones at E38..
  7. Being done as we speak  See http://www.dubland.co.uk for the holding page.. should have a site up before E38 with Jays corrado on it plus mine and others in the Coupehaus massive ! Keep an eye on the site next week  8)
  8. I take it this is a reply to the pic I sent via text then? And why will you feel scared sitting in my car?
  9. Over the moon! It looks stunning IMO! So pleased with the whole interior, the trimmer has done an A1 job!!!! I have a couple of minor issues to sort, but should be ok..
  10. Ok, so I sorted a few engine problems and took it for another quick drive. I gave it a bit more this week as I had a fixed seat etc  and at 3000rpm the front wheels lost traction briefly and I could feel the 4wd kicking in! Oh this thing is going to be so much fun when fully road legal! (I also re-fitted the interior, freshly back from the trimmer, ohhhh its sooo nice and apart from a couple of minor issues it all went it like factory!)
  11. Not surprised, that BMW is mental.....and 360s don't have much torque (in relation to their power) to fight back with. 360s drive past me every day as there's a dealer where I work and they sound nasty. Very hollow and thin exhaust note and at idle and below 2000rpm, the engines are clattery and the F1 paddleshift system clonks and whirs like a Honda Crunch 90. Kev I do agree with your comment, but they are still flippin quick, went in one about 3 weeks ago! (still think the C will be faster though :) )
  12. Pro's -better MPG (if driven right.. 40mpg!), more reliable, good tuning potential, lots of engines around, sound like a scooby with 2.5" + exhaust, faster than a VR if you go for larger bhp versions or chip it, something a bit different ... Con's, expensive conversion, bhp potential = lots of £££, don't sound like a VR,...
  13. I would have said that powerflex buses probably would be too hard and carry too much noise for you... Making that judgement on the fact I've know you for 10 years and knowing what you whinge about.. You're very much like Jay Renshaw who likes refineness and quietness in a car.. I would stick to factory bushes. But you could get some steering rack, anti roll bar powerflex bushes to help the handling a bit. Uprated antiroll bars might be something to look into actually. You need to speak to people who have used powerflex buses, I've heard a few people saying they are too harsh for every day road use... (Turbo kits are another thing you need to look into as well ! :) )
  14. think i paid 98p a litre for the oil burner in sunny norfolk a while ago!
  15. "FOR SALE 1994 Corrado in Dark Burgundy Pearl (LC3U), 2.8 24V engine, Vibra-Technics engine mounts, 288mm brakes, AVO suspension, Powerflex bushes, Biege leather electric Recaro's, 17" TT Competitions, VR6 Syncro 4WD." WHY?
  16. It will rev to 8000 RPM once mapped fully. You have first ride, don't worry. A Chimera and M3 will be slow in comparision, I promise!
