mine won't be as powerful as 600bhp.. I'm looking for 360bhp ish to begin with. I have just been in a Merc dealership to enquire about a Sprinter intercooler like yours they said it would be about £180, which in Euros I don't have a clue what it works out to be. I'm really interested in it at that price. Have you got any dimensions for it and any more pics of it close up. Any chance I might be able to cut off the plastic end caps and weld metal ones on instead?? -
Yes I did, used the rallye floor pan and all the rallye drivechain.

I'd better go and age 50 years then..lol Don't get so serious my man, its only a bit of fun. Not everyones the same, just because you like a NA VR6 engines doesn't mean everyone else does!! I prefer the cheaper 1.8T with its good all round abilities, you like the more grown up VR - who cares, it doesn't matter. Anyway mate in terms of expense you've fitted 4wd, I've done this as well and its far from cheap...

Yeah I know, I've been told that its on its MAX @ 320-350bhp, so I want to upgrade further to one a bit like young G-man's specially built one. I've had a quote for a 800x360x80mm - thats with x2 40mm cores side by side - it will be able to handle 600-800+ bhp. I think that will be ok?? -
Try reving to 8k then with a 20vT, power coming @2.2k all the way to 8k. By the time the VR has thought about its weight problem the little light nimble 4 Pot has eaton your VR for dinner... Its all about the power! More power = more torque and therefore better pick up where ever you are in the rev range. However a 3.1 VR coupled to 4wd does sound good...thought about a turbo aswell :D

cool thanks for the reply. but I don't think the G60 one is up to the job. I've been told to get a bigger one than a G60. I think I will just have to have one made up. cheers -
PhatVR6, A few pics of the 4wd conversion.. Hope you like them, it took a while to do all this!!

My corrado is a J reg - does it require a cat??
-
I've been in Jabbasport's FWD Seat Ibiza, that was running @ 350bhp, ok the wheels will spin all day long, BUT it was still able to handle the power. Top end was awesome and the pull low down was harder than a TVR Chimera and an Aston Martin DB7 V12 I've been in!! It revs to 8k all day long aswell! However I have installed 4WD on my corrado to get the best out of it.

Will that intercooler withstand up to 400bhp?? what do you have to modify to make it fit? Also what are the dimensions - LengthxHeightxDepth?? I'm trying to find a sutable intercooler for my 20v conversion. You might have solved it for me!! Ben -
I'm not far away (he says!) from finishing my corrado project. I'm using the IHI roller bearing turbo and cast manifold from Jabbasport with the Haltech EMS. Should be able to get 360bhp from this setup with the option to expand the bhp out to 400 at a later date. I too have converted it to 4x4 as 2wd would be a waste of time with 360bhp.
