  1. Hey Dave, Thanks for the reply. So, to educate a stupid person, where would the bolt be located? Is this the bolt that sits directly in front of the gear stick as you look at it? Sorry to be a dumb ass, but I just want to be sure. Also, when the gear stick is in neutral, the stick does appear to be dead center. Would the adjuster still need adjusting? Cheers. Al.
  2. Hey guys, havent been around on here in a while as my Corrado had to be shelved do in part to it being a total bitch, but also, due to a lot of personal family issues. I have had an issue with the car the other day, could only select 3rd and 4th gears. Was fun driving home with this I can tell you. It turned out to be a loose nut on the gear box selector. All re-aligned and working fine now. The issue I seem to have now, is that when I but the car say into 1st, it goes in no bother, but the amount of play on the stick is unreal. Let go of the stick and it almost looks as if it has moved over to where 4th would be. But it is still in gear and working fine. The car is a 2.0 16v with a Dave short shift mod fitted. I am hoping it is just a bush issue. Let me know what you guys think. Cheers. Al.
  3. Hey all. Ok, first, thanks all for the advice. Second, thanks John for posting what car I have :) Yes, she is a 2.0 16v. I had already taken advice from someones post recently about the belts and going for conti's. So that is what I have on the car currently. I have managed to find the cause of said squeal. I managed to get the car making the noise with the bonnet up and a friend standing by, the sound was coming from the back of the engine and not down by the belts. Turns out that my exhaust manifold appears to have at least 2 cracks in it. Soooo issue found. Now all I need to do is get it fixed...... Then I think it maybe time to say bye bye to my money pit. Thanks again all. Any further advise is always welcome. Cheers. Al.
  4. Hey guys. So, I have an issue with my pain in the arse..... (That's how you spell Corrado.... Right ??) It all started a few weeks ago when I was driving her around for the fun of it. She started to make a squealing noise when I was accelerating. Straight away I thought, Belts need tightening. So, under the car I go, and tighten up the power steering belt and the adjust the alternator position. Belts now nice and tight again. Took her out on the open road and within minutes the squealing was back..... So I continued on my merry journey and picked up two new belt, got the old girl home and then fitted said belts. Took her out again.... yep, you guessed it.... still squealing. But this time, it really sounded more metallic than before. Soooooo, home again, belts off and checked all the pulleys. Ahaaaa! The water pump pulley was grinding and feeling very unpleasant. I ordered a replacement. Once this had arrived, I had a friend of mine replace the pump for me, he has worked on this car many many times..... it used to be his. This went very smoothly. Refitted the belts and took her out for a run. Aaaaand........ yeah, the squealing was still there...... But this time it really did sound like a belt slipping. Back we go and we tension up the alternator belt as far as we can, which, as it turned out was as far as the adjustment could go..... ahaaa wrong belt size. Soooo, back to the shop I go and purchase another shorter belt. Today was the day... I will fit the new belt and silence the noise once and for all. Belt fitted and adjusted the tension, much better this time. Took the car out, squealing..... At this point my **** was lost and did hit the steering wheel. This had the affect of injuring my hand. Soooo, when I got her home, I could no longer adjust anything with any force as my hand hurt to much.... Down to the local garage I went (in the car) and asked if one of the many fine mechanics could assist with the adjustment. Very helpfully my adjuster was adjusted. Mechanic person stated that that was as tight as it needed to be, if not a tiny bit over. If that doesn't stop the noise, then it would have to be something else. Brilliant, I thought. Of I went feeling very happy that now, after all this, the noise would be gone. How wrong was I..... So, when I got her home, up in the air she went and I adjusted the power steering belt tension quite a bit just to see if the noise would stop. Took her out one last time, squealing still persists. At this point, I have lost the will to live. I am looking to sell the car due to personal issues and don't want it making these horrid noises on a test drive. That said, I also don't want to be chucking money at it over and over at this point. I am therefor communing with the Corrado guru's in the hope that enlightenment could be reached. Thanks for reading my lengthy tale of bewilderment. Over to you guys. Cheers. Al.
  5. Been away for a while and totally missed this, are any still available ? I would need a full set for my old girl. let me know. Cheers. Al.
  6. Hey guys, @Andy R32, I know the interior you are after and so wish mine was that one, sadly it isn't. My interior just has the standard rear bench seat. Sorry :(
  7. @ BristolBaron, I am based in Nottingham, 2 mins from the A46. The interior is the common grey sadly. @ VW_OwneR_85, that is a fair comment. I was not going to be asking insane money and what you suggested was about what I was thinking. I just have a real issue with throwing away any parts for a Corrado that are still in a usable condition. Any other views ? Cheers. Al.
  8. I have recently fitted a leather interior into my Corrado and I now have a cloth interior that needs a new home. My question is this, are cloth interiors worth anything? Mine is in reasonable condition. Drivers seat bolster has failed but the fabric is undamaged. The door cards are in good order except the passenger leather type stuff is coming away slightly at the top edge. Rear cards and seats are in great order as usual for interiors of this type I guess. The Mrs wants it out of the way so she is after me binning the whole lot. I just feel that it is a waste of an interior that really just needs a good clean (never got around to it) and a few minor repairs. So, is it worth trying to sell it or just bin it ? Just wondering what you guys might think on this :) Cheers. Al.
  9. Lol Yeah, been working 😁 Reply incoming 😊

  11. Hey mate, You are not replying to my emails, does this mean the interior is gone? Just let me know would you please as I am budgeting for a trip that may not be needed. Cheers. Al.
  12. Sent you a PM bud, just wondering if you got it. Cheers Al.
  13. Hey guys, As the title suggests, I have a sticky rear spoiler on my old girl. I understand that these can be stripped and refurbished with little effort. I have been looking to buy a replacement unit so that I have spares in case I break something when removing/cleaning my original. I can't seem to find one anywhere. Does anyone here have a good working unit that I could buy ? The main reason for posting thought, is to see if there is such a thing as an up-rated motor for the spoiler ? Or is there an up-rated/newer system out there for the Corrado ? I suspect the answer is no to both as I can find nothing on the web. But thought I would ask the pro's. Cheers in advance. Al.
  14. I am interested to, very much so :)
  15. Just seen this post, I too need a drivers one. Can these not be made via a 3D printer do you think ? Just wondering if anyone with the know how could knock some of these up ? Anyway, if there are any going spare, drop me a PM with price please :) Cheers Al.
  16. I would be well up for a set of these too. Green with the blue/red temp dial would be amazing :)
  17. Perfect timing :) I'll take it please. PM me your details bud. Cheers. Al.
  18. Ok, when first starting the engine from cold, which it does without issues, it sits and idles fine. If I rev the engine, I can only describe it as she is spluttering. If I hold the revs at say 2k, she will drop revs and build back up over and over again. After about a minute she is absolutely fine. On hot starts it can take 2 goes to get her to fire up as she seems to splutter a bit, but once started, all is fine. I have also noticed that when the day is very hot, she doesn't seem to suffer with the cold start problem. I have so far replaced the coil pack, the spark plugs and leads, the dizzy cap and arm and have no change. All the advice above is great and I will look further into each one. :) I could really use the part numbers if anyone can help with that though as I want to get the parts replaced as they have been on the car from new as far as I can tell and may warrant changing anyway. :) Any other ideas on the further information I have put here would also be fantastic. Many thanks guys. Cheers. Al.
  19. Hey guys. I am having a minor but irritating issue with my old girl. (2L 16v) On the first cold start she always seems to be a little lumpy for a minute or so until she is warmed up and then appears to be running fine after that. Been reading around on here and various other forums and it would appear that I may need to replace my 5th injector and or thermo time sensor. Has anyone got the part numbers for these items as I cant seem to find the relevant parts just by the names I have come across. Cheers. Al.
  20. All fitted and looking pretty damn good. I had to remove a bucket load of compost from under the old plastics when I finally got them off. All polished and clean under there now too :) I must admit that the shiny finish did have me worried for a little while, but now its on the car, it looks fine :) Thanks again all. Cheers. Al.
  21. Received mine 2 minutes ago :) No issues, item is in perfect order. Looking forward to fitting it when I get the old girl back from VW...... again....... Thanks so much to all involved in sorting this. Cheers. Al.
  22. Okie dokie, I have cancelled the transaction and have just put it through again. hopefully it works this time :) Please let me know if it goes through or not. Cheers. Al. PS, sorry to all if I am holding things up :(
  23. Money went over when I said and I put a message with the payment listing forum name and my delivery address. I have checked my Paypal account and the transaction is labelled unclaimed. Paypal help suggests the following reasons for this :- Unclaimed •Payments Sent: A payment may be unclaimed for several reasons:1.The recipient has not signed up to PayPal and has not yet received your payment 2.The recipient has a PayPal Personal account (which cannot receive more than 5 debit or credit card-funded payments a year) 3.The recipient hasn't accepted the payment 4.The recipient has chosen to individually accept or decline payments from customers who don't have a confirmed postal address.
  24. Money sent over this morning. Many thanks to all that have helped arrange this. Cheers. Al.
