Hey all - been fixing a few things under bonnet yesterday and noticed a broken part which has been botched at some point, and a whirring/clicking noise from right hand side engine block with ignition off and no keys in....just wondering whether it will drain battery or not... First up, I found this broken part that had been araldited or similar - I went to local garage who said I would need to buy a complete air intake kit from VW for £100 just to get this part - forgot to get name of part :/ Second up noticed that whirring noise coming from right hand side of engine, just to right of where oil goes in.. I have taken photos if thats any help and I will bow to you guys and your superior knowledge.. Thanks for any help... Hey all, I have to get rid of a set of seats as I am moving abroad. FIRST TO SELL WILL CLOSE THREAD AS I WILL NEED THE OTHERS !! First off - Nice set of black leathers - v firm seats - I also have highline mk3 and these seats 'feel' like new compared - even Karmann stickers below seats look unworn !! NO DOOR CARDS Bit of scuffing right hand drivers and one piercing - also lift handle needs replaced. Looking in region of £300 - thats what I paid - only looking to cover my costs... Second up - a set of cloth seats - all seats are in better than average condition except for as usual the drivers !! Both side panels (right hand side ) would need patched or replaced, and a couple of piercings in drivers seat bolster - bolster is also a bit saggy....other than that though as I say seats are better than average - I was gonna buy a rear bench to get material to fix drivers seat, but got the leathers first... Looking in region of £125 AS ALWAYS - ALL SENSIBLE OFFERS CONSIDERED.... These can be couriered but pricey and a bit risky in my experience - have couriered a few set of golf leathers with varying results. I am willing to deliver within reason - maybe meeting at service station on motorway - as long as fuel and a sandwich or two is covered.... hey - from experience I had 18's on mine when I bought it - it WASN'T set up properly for them and I got rid of them pretty damn quick - couldnt go anywhere near full lock and tramlined like a mad thing - IMHO they looked good but ultimately no good on mine - if it was set up proper for them why not, but as someone else said, maybe have a set of speedlines for everyday??

VR6 | Viper green engine out respray |Blackpool uk Price: £1750 Description: Hey - up for sale is my corrado. It is a 2.0 16v with a OBD2 VR6 from MK3 conversion - still registered as 2.0 16v on v5...... Only reason for selling is I need to move to Spain imminently -going to take my MK3 highline with us as the missus gets on with it better :/ Full engine out re-spray in the new VW Viper Green - bit of a marmite thing - love it or hate it - has grown on me 'cos it's the only one..nice to be unique sometimes... Sitting nicely on coilovers with nice Allurad deep dish wheels 16x8 . These are sitting on 20mm hubcentric spacers fitted properly by top bloke outside Bridgwater - bolts machined to perfect spec etc etc..no expense spared on these - NOT HALFORDS CR#P !! I have sourced and fitted a nice set of black leather seats Bad points :- Sunroof not working - works fine on allen key (slides and tilts ) - bit stiff maybe - sure a bit of tlc will sort it. Spoiler not working - motor is turning on switch - have tried to raise manually to no joy - probably cables need work... overheating now fixed with new rad and purple samco hoses and new steering column with nice old momo competition wheel fitted Good points :- well, to be honest its the way this car feels - the engine is nuts - defo pulls the rado better than the same engine on my mk3 highline VR6 - there is a snarly exhaust system on it - this car can be driven stealthily but open it up and you WILL be heard The colour adds to the appeal for me - it is UNIQUE and turns heads - again, you will either love or hate that - I personally think that thinking outside the usual boxes with 'rados etc can get some awesome results. If the corrado was available new NOW, it would be available in this colour...makes you think... ** ALL SENSIBLE OFFERS CONSIDERED ** will consider swaps for decent estate with power and space or something interesting.... Hey - I am selling my rado very reluctantly - only because of moving to spain - you said you had some wheels to sell - are they 4x100 ? I would let mine go for your 2K but I would take the leathers out replacing with good cloth seats with wear to driers as usual (guy in Stirling selling the same rears for cheap that could be used to patch..) and would be hoping to keep wheels - totally unique vr6 - resprayed ( engine out )in the new scirroco Viper Green - either love it or hate it - loud and proud engine - few issues but I have all the parts to fix - will be bringing it up north next week if you are interested....could be a good way of spending your 2K to make a few bucks to get towards Storm money???? lol - so far yes, but I was expecting more TBH - like i said, not for everyones taste but then again I kinda reckon that a lot of older cars, eg 'rados could benefit from someone thinking outside the usual box and giving them a new lease of life - if the corrado was available new now it would be available in this VW colour.... thx, i did search and looked at this - maybes didnt read properly though :/ - i thought the thread stated was for cars that had been running - mine has this issue with the engine cold..... would there be enough heat from direct sunlight to cause this issue ?? thx again pete

Hey all, bit of a strange one... Car wont start if it has been sitting in direct sunlight for a while - i get no buzz when i turn ignition and left electric window doesnt work but seems to click from behind driver seat ( fuel pump maybe ? ) . I am no expert when it comes to wiring, but this does seem strange - starts ok in evening when cooled down and electrics go back to normal. Car alarm used to go off constantly in hot weather - not doing it now but maybe a connection there ??? Trying to get car to garage to fix radiator / overheating problem but the fe#ker wont start in the sun !!!! Thx for looking and any advice gratefully recieved - like i say is booked into garage for some tlc so would be good if I could get a few pointers for mech to go on, Pete Car is obd2 vr6 conversion.

Hi all, done a search and didnt find anything - trying to get sunroof working - opens and tilts etc easy on allen key, but when i try switch only hear click from motor - have tried a replacement motor today - same thing :/ Probably mad trying to fix it in this weather, but any ideas or suggestions greatly appreciated.. thx for looking and any replies, Pete, STORMFORCE.

hey - thx for reply - we have had quick look but up on the ramp proper next friday - there is play in the steering wheel too - just trying to stay a step ahead because ramp time is a bit precious atm with my mechanic.... peter

hey - got a knocking coming up through clutch pedal and steering wheel - my mechanic is fairly certain it is the knuckle joint on the steering rack (please excuse ignorance - I am only quoting mechanic ! ). Cant go up on ramp for about a week so thought I would try to get one sorted just in case - trying to build a supply of spares before I move to Spain with the 'rado. So, if anyone has one for sale - cash waiting.... I presume these joints are fairly universal to corrado's etc - mines is a vr6 conversion from a 2.0 16v... Thanks for looking, STORMFORCE, Pete.

Hi all, picked up this resprayed corrado last month - bit of a crazy colour (viper green scirroco i think) but it is growing on me..... It had 18" ( !! ) wheels from a mini cooper (afaik) when i bought it but I have now put on my 16" azev a's - what do you think ?? I know they are not the best pictures - time to upgrade my camera :/ UPDATE - Azevs have now been removed in favour of deep dish allurad's I picked up. Rado is up for sale now unfortunately - advertised on forum...
