How much for the passenger side window mechanism posted?
-
Did the electric window motor/regulator change over the life of the corrado?
-
Just sprayed the grill with the paint I had, had just enough to cover it. Doesn't look great, didn't exactly prep it but will see how the finish comes out. If it's ok then a £3 can of paint and a bit of graft should give me an acceptable, albeit temporary grill :)

Still looking for a cheap but effective (good luck with that) sound proofing method, anyone have any experience with this stuff? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161282941044?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

I can't find a 3 slat grill for a reasonable price, cheapest I found is £36 posted on ebay, all seems a little silly for a bit of plastic. I have a badge, just need the plastic bit!
-
Took some photos, can't see any identifying marks on it so I'd guess its just an ebay jobbie.

I'm thinking I will sell it on, if it makes a massive difference I will replace it but I could do with funds elsewhere really. I can't really test its effectiveness, car is SORN at the moment :( I don't think the brace is anything special and I think its lost some paint in one area. I will have a look at it tonight if I get home from work in time and take some pictures.
-
I was thinking the flog it and redistribute funds also! Will have to see if it's a fancy one or an ebay jobbie.
-
Mercifully the headlight surrounds aren't done too! If the paintwork was ok it wouldn't bug me as much but it has seen better days. I have some satin black plastic paint so I might try it out, failing that, buy another.

Evening all, my rado has a rear strut brace fitted by the previous owner, problem is the parcel shelf I bought won't sit properly with it there so, my question is, is there a benefit to the strut brace? I'm no racer and the car won't be seeing a track, would I notice the difference in day to day driving?
-
Ok thanks guys, I will have a bash at it over the coming week.
-
Not its a humble old valver :) I was thinking a rub down might be best but wondered if stripping was possible. Google'd it and nail polish remover was suggested, can't see that working?
-
Cleaned the boot carpet, it's not perfect but at least it's grey rather than a fetching shade of brown. Removed the elctric window motor/regulator too. Making very slow progress but I'm enjoying it all, keeps me up at night thinking what I want to do next!
-
Severe but justified! Not sure what they were thinking! I'd like to save it if possible, can't afford a replacement!
-
My front grill is painted, looks bloody awful, any ideas on the best way to remove it?
-
It is definately a later bumper but, just found an amazing bit of info from Andy Brookes stating the changes to the corrado over the years, it appears that the bumper is correct for my car so there must be another reason for it not sitting right. Should also make finding a new drivers wing easier now I know! The thread is http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=6237 hope it works

Just removed the electric window motor/regulator, its kaput. The motor itself seems ok the rest is what I need. Currently brasic but if anyone has one going cheap I would appreciate the help!
-
Finally got it out, yay! Motor seems to be working ok but the rest of it is kaput-the wires have had it and the little green clip has had it. Im guessing the rest is the regulator? Was this a Corrado only part or shared with mk2 golf/passat?
-
Yeah, rollers popped off
-
Right, got the angle grinder on the rivets and got all 7 out, took off the 2 bolts holding the glass to the mechanism but now I can't remove the mechanism! I can move the glass but the mechanism is being a stubborn piece of arse! Am I missing a really obvious attachment somewhere?
-
Not had much chance to do anything in the last week but today I bought a parcel shelf! Not the most important thing on my to do list but it was a very good price. Also picked up th eold silver VW badge for the front grill so, when I have stripped the blue paint from the grill I can pop it back in and smarten the front end up (imo)

How much for 2 top mount covers and the door trim clips posted?
-
Evening all, was having a look at the front of my rado today and I'm pretty sure it has a late style bumper despite being an early style car. Are the later bumpers a little wider? Am I right in thinking after the facelift they all got wider front wings?
-
My list, kind've lost the order in the middle, and think I'm missing one... 1. Daewoo Nexia- Drove it into a river- woops! 2. Mk3 Ford Fiesta 1.0! 3. Fiat Uno 1.0- absolute beast! First car I spent cash on- lowered and alloys-loved it but was slow! 4. Peugeot 306 XTDT- My first car with electric windows! Loved it but it was, tbf, a bit of a dog-engine mounts snapped when changing a glow plug! 5. Honda Prelude 2.3 4WS- loved thi stoo! Wanted one for ages 6. Peugeot 306 SLDT- needed economy for my job 7. Honda Prelude 2.3 again- same one! 8. Rover 216- bought after I drove into some muppet who cut me up. 9. Triumph TR7 convertible- fancied an older car- adored it for about a month then realised I couldn't look after it properly- my dad currently has it. 10. Honda Prelude 2.2VTi- rekindled my affair with preludes-bit of a disappointment 11. Ford Focus 1.6 LX- Needed a little bit of economy- dull!!! 12. Toyota MR2 T-bar- bought off a friend after it had been laid up for a year, nice car but always seemed slow, traded in for 13. Audi A3 T-Sport- brilliant car, adored it in gun metal grey but had to sell to pay for a funeral 14. Vauxhall Astra 2.2 bertone coupe- lovely car but a bit...bland 15. Mitsubishi FTO- my only auto, not a gearbox suited to that car, could do 80 in 2nd! 16. Audi 80 coupe 2.0 16v- red, nice car but dam it was loud!! Couldn't afford a full new exhaust, would have another. 17. Saab 900- Needed a cheap run around- absolute tank! 18. Honda accord aerodeck- brilliant little retro car, rare again but the electrics killed it :( 19. VW Scirocco GT- Bit of a dog but I fancied something to play with- great idea till I drove it, for some reason it gave me chronic back ache. 20. Volvo C70 T5- Big comfy barge, flew if you revved it but drank the petrol. 21. Audi A4 3.0 quattro- loved it, can't remember why I sold it, wish I hadn't! 22. Saab 9-3 turbo- only 150bhp, nice car actually but then saw this 23. Aqua blue Corrado 16v- really wanted a VR6 but saw this for a good price so got it. 24. Seat Toledo 1.9TDi- Corrado let me down so sold it on and bought this as a stop gap- it stank! Door seals leaked badly! 25. Seat Leon Cupra- Lovely car, regret getting rid in many ways but never got it running right. 26. Fiat Punto 1.2- was moving in with the girlfriend so needed to release funds- sold the Leon and got this-also a dog, but very cheap!! 27. Peugeot 309 GTi- Wanted one since I was tiny!! Got it, loved it, sold it when I moved house and we decided we didnt need/have space for it. If I had known I was buying a house a few months down the line I would have kept it-rare as hens teeth. 28. Peugeot 308 1.6 HDi- The modern daily, bland but 60+ mpg (Had 80mpg once!!) 29. Toyota MR2- bought as a running project but then... 30. Aqua blue Corrado 16v- same one as before! Came up for sale and had to have it back.
