  1. Where did you get that boost gauge from?? I love the look of it!
  2. When I first bought my Corrado 1.8 16v Turbo I was constantly paranoid about leaving it parked up with the turbo still hot, I don't know if there is any heat shielding that will help out but I am just so worried about it! ---------- Post added at 1:29 AM ---------- Previous post was at 1:28 AM ---------- When I first bought my Corrado 1.8 16v Turbo I was constantly paranoid about leaving it parked up with the turbo still hot, I don't know if there is any heat shielding that will help out but I am just so worried about it!, someone I know lost their skyline due to a hot turbo :(
  3. So the original 1.8 16v KR engine was converted to G60 management and supercharger added? I'm not too experienced with the G60 but if I was you I would get the wiring diagrams of both cars and compare wiring schematics...sorry I'm not that much help! sounds like a pretty cool 'Rado though
  4. Indeed, classic Turbo Technics at its finest! ---------- Post added at 6:34 PM ---------- Previous post was at 6:29 PM ---------- Indeed, classic Turbo Technics at its finest!
  5. Thanks! the paintwork on it is great for the age :) ---------- Post added at 4:50 PM ---------- Previous post was at 4:49 PM ---------- Wow! the bumper repeaters look a lot better, may have to invest in some haha
  6. You should but I think it would be better to go with a more modern system than a TT setup, however TT do have some awesome bits of kit for a turbo conversion if you can find them (mostly on eBay) like the custom Garrett T25 compressor cover, under engine hard boost pipe, T25 turbo exhaust manifold, downpipe elbow and downpipe.
  7. I wish I had a garage to put them in! Halfords pro tools is awesome kit.
  8. Yeah 1.8 16v Turbo, but it drops to £1500 after my policy renews next year (Y) (I transferred it onto my Golf TDI after my Rado's engine went and my payments reduced by a lot)
  9. And one more thing before reassembly make sure all the metal surfaces are sparkling clean because if there is oily residue on them the rocker gasket could squeeze out between the cover and cylinder head.
  10. I might just not use the brakes then...how much air braking effect does the rear spoiler have? haha...ah well it was a nice idea...would have looked good!
  11. Deleted side strips look the business on a Rado, much cleaner as for the carpark issue you could have them magnetic so you can stick them back on? lol :)
  12. To be honest with those points that price for a VR6 isn't too bad, when I bought my 1.8 16v Rado I paid £770 deposit and then £404 a month to insure it...did that for 4 months until its piston rings and turbo went. It depends on how desperate you are to own and drive a Rado ;)
  13. So I had a thought, at the moment I have yellow brake calipers, and yellow brake calipers are usually in front of ceramic brake rotors...I was thinking as a homage to that setup I could put black diamond rotors on my car to go with the yellow calipers...thoughts? :)
  14. Thanks :) will do, was gutted when the engine finally gave up but will be ready for next Summers shows! the aqua blue is a lush color, has such a deep shine :D
  15. Here is my Volkswagen Corrado, she has the 1.8 16v KR engine with a full Turbo Technics kit which was pushing around 200bhp before my Garrett t25 turbo went and the piston rings lost their compression, its undergoing an engine swap at the moment and will be better than ever with a HKS boost controller in place of its original bleed valve, and hopefully a full leather interior...hoping to build myself my own little supercar :) anyway here are the pics, hope you enjoy!
  16. Hey guys, finally bought a Corrado after years of wanting one, got it home and it has developed a knocking noise from the engine :(, the car also has a lack of power and if you tap the throttle all the way down when stationary the engine does not respond well and just feels like its going to cut out, if the throttle is put down lightly however, you can get the revs up, the Corrado also needs some throttle to start from cold and warm, I have read a couple of forum posts which point it at either the ignition timing of the engine which cause the knocking sound, and poor running of the engine, the air meter on the top of the air box, a blow in the exhaust system or god forbid the bearings in the bottom end wearing out, the car is a 1990 VW Corrado 1.8 16v with the KR engine, it has done 158,000 miles and is a little smokey. Help please!
