cheers. how can i tell if the aux pump is working or not. with ignition on what should i hear. 1. fuel pump, rear of car? 2 Aux water pump, near engine somewhere? 3. any other pumps?

doh. is it worth getting it all changed at the same time - incl stat housing, i have seen that on GSF parts the stat is only 6.85 and tghe pump 19.00 is this true. Also will i need a new EXPANSION TANK as water was coming out of it. my garage said i could have messed up the head gasket too! arhh

would the bottom hose be slightly warm if this is the case

Hi My corrado has overheathing probs. When the car water temp gets to 100 the fans come on but even on the motorway never go off. Then the water warning light starts to flash. And the water starts to hit 140!!!. I stopped and opened the bonnet and steam was leaking out of the coolant resivour and it was very full. I heard from here that the two big hoses/pipes to the right side of the engine could be checked so i did. The top one was boiling and the bottom one not cold but very slightly warm. The engine was very cold. The fans were still on. I have a feeling i may need a new thermostat as the heater works etc. But also when i turn the ignition on (but not the engine) i can no longer hear the aux water pump. (although i'm not sure what it should sound like). I can hear one pump turn on but from behind me (is that the fuel pump?) So - Do you think i need a new thermostat or pump or both. or could it even be something else? They can't both break same time surely! cheers for your help guys your all brill ian

oh henny. and would Knackered temp senders cause the coolant light to come on - as this happened but there tank was full when i checked. Maybe all the sensor went at the same time?

gr8 - thanks for scaring me! Do you really think my head gasket is on the way out. I started this thread thinking just the temp sensor was faulty. I regularly get water temp of 110 and oil 118. always have done for a year and nothings ever gone wrong. Does anyone else have a idea why the fan still stays on constantly and the water temp reads 120 when i can feel that the engine is cool?

the problen is that the coolant light came on but the was loads of coolant in there. The other problem is that the fans seemed to be on longer that normal but when i checked the engine bay the engine seemed really cool yet the temp gauge was reading 100-120. maybe a faulty sensor? help anyone else?

the blower was working as we were on the motorway and i turned it on. the engine when i pulled up was not stone cold, but normal to better than normal as the fans were on so long. It was cold to touch on top and norm it is quite warm to touch,? could it be a sensor making the fan stay on, would this send a water temp light error?

I noticed on a drive today that my fan was on longer then before ie. at water temp 100-110it used to be on for 2 min. Today it just stayed on for ages until i restarted my car. Now - on the drive back i hit traffic after the M1 and the fan comes on and the temp warning light flashes. water was at 110 and oil at 118. I pulled over and checked coolant level - fine. Engine bay was also stone cold. i would have thought for the fans to come on the engine would be hot to the touch but the air blowing around was just cool. What could this be as i am so worried about the engine blowing up! Is it a sensor fault or something else>? If the engine is obviously cold can i carry on driving and ignore? please help out a novice cheers

but my heater still blows hot... can it still be gone?

just discovered loads of water in footwell )passenger). I ve seen it could be the heater matrix - but the heater works fine. ie blows hot and cold. I can also not feel where its coming in from. ie carpet is wet but not around the sides? is it coming up throught the floor? any ideas what it could be?

anyone? or am i just being paranoid!

had zimmerman x-drilled fitted the other day with pagid fast road pads see pic. This was supposed to sort out noise from the wheels. After 20miles i can now see rust coloured stuff on the disc!!! is this normal or is it grinding against something (calipers?) and making the grinding noise? i ve had new bearings too and still the noise goes on please help. cheers

i am running michelin stadard sizes. very sceptical that this noise is from them or the camber? just pouring more money away. can c's be quiet inside or is there always some road noise?

my car is a vr6 1995 92k miles. I am sure it is tyre road noise related, sounds kind of lumpy. " bum boom, bum boom" type, It's not overly loud and think has been toned down after each trip to the garage, bearings , discs. But i want smoothness and quiet!!! Do you think getting camber adjusted can help this?

i am can still hear noise from the front of my car. so far i have done the front bearings and replaced worn discs and pads. But there is still a rumbling noise bettween 10-40mph. What is it, or am i expecting too much from a 10 year old car? How noisey are your c's? can you hear much tyre noise etc?

Just fitted Zimmerman drilled Discs abd pagid fast road pads. Question is what is the correct bedding in process? I took it for a spin an broke a few times to get them warmed up. Must say they are amazing, now i know what fade was! When i stopped they smelt bad, is this okay?
