  1. I was going to do this but decided to do this instead a few months ago!

    Edinburghmeet.jpg

Was the 1st to do it too 8) But only suits dark coloured cars imo!

End of the day Riley If it looks gash, wipe it off!

    Go for it!

funny how everyones doing this mod now hey Jenks

    time for a change

 Told you it'd hit off m8!

yeah ok, not the 1st in the world but i put up a post on them and no1 really knew about the yellow style headlamps! i split the headlight and used the paint that riley used for his fogs and went for it! didnt see 'any' in Britain or on this site with these style headlamps, not sure if french have them or not. The americans seem to like them, got the inspiration from them!

  2. I do use mine as an everyday car but then things break,it does 15mpg (VR6) to and from college so im thinking of maybe taking it off the road in winter, purely so i can work on her, save money, do more things and keep her off the salty roads. Plus wouldnt mind keeping milage down, at 178K.

But i do feel an arse for doing so,cars are ment to driven and all that so im not decided yet!

  3. Make sure your allowed to tow 1st of all!

If you past your test 'after' 1998 your not allowed to tow a twin axle trailer carrying a load of over 750kgs! Ive been towing trailers since i was 18!

So stupid my that my Granny can tow a trailer, but i cant even with my bus licence! bloody daft! :x

however i wouldnt advise towing in the 16V,ive seen a few Vr6s with tow bars and they are ok for towing, however most im aware off tow wee jet ski's! Your Anglia might be light but you got the trailer on top of that as well.

  4. Well you'd think so wouldnt you?

I was lucky enough to have a tour of the factory, my big bro was doing some work there, yeah its very basic but it makes it kind of appealing in the same sence, simple British engineering! But the reliability is shocking of them, even TVR workers say you get rid of them after 2 years as they start to fall apart!

Dont think the new ones are that bad looking tho?

  5. Went up north for a couple of days, heres some pics!

But we gota show use this¬

We did a few laps in the morning, left to do the museum/tour got back to find a local boy had written off a Scooby! No insurance! ouch!

    crashedscooby.jpg

Then when we left we saw the recovery lorry goin out again, we waited but it took too long, and we were in our kilts so gota bit cold! we found out back in the hotel that it was the british guy who was also staying at our hotel and we saw a few times! He wrote off his 2 year old £45K BMW M3 coupe! No insurance again! a big ouch!

    crashedbeemer.jpg

There also another british lot at our hotel who had a 2.1 pinto mk2 escort, striped! looked cool until they hit a barrier! Not written off though, BUT my mate James brought his G60 raddo home thanks to his co driver craig and I managed to bring the Vr6 back 700 miles after being off the road for 4 months thanks to the company of my m8 Kris!

TOP ROAD TRIP! Specially sun/mon in amsterdam! 8)

  10. Sorry, have to disagree, my mate has just finished his 4 year apprentiship as a bodysprayer and works for a very good company who have contracts with BMW,Merc and Bentley,Ferrari,Lamborghini,Porsche, etc, etc

He says tht its all about experience, experience and even more experience, These guys have different eyes to us!! He can walk up to so called show cars and spot things that we never even noticed( or the owner sumtimes!)

Also quality of paints, materials, ovens, dust, etc, etc is a major major part!

Not trying to put you off its true that the prep work is very important but theres alot more to it than you think, imo save up and leave it the professionals.

  11. Oh right sorry guys dont wanna start any heated debates.

I do quite like forced induction engines as they get pretty good gains when tuned. Like my 1.8T A4.

I know what you mean by the VR6 engines though as my dad has a Mk4 golf with 2.8 engine. Is very smooth and sounds nice.

    Cheers.

Next edinburgh meet ill take you out in my Vr6,then ill get my mate to take you out in his G60 which has just had a little bit of tinkering, his is faster but hes spent under 2K getn there, but anyway, best to get a spin so you can get a feel for it!

  12. nah Ian think its the ECU, but a few others of my mates with good technical knowledge are not convinced!
