1. Yes Wendy, your second in line if 2 members drop out. Your very welcome Byrd
2. It's no bother mate, i needed one anyway, it also reduced the overall price for me too, so everyone wins. Hi Jason, I can PM each member a PayPal email address. I'll inform each member what the shields/liners cost plus P+P. I live in N.Ireland, so postage and packaging should be the same for everyone (unless you live in N.Ireland). Your postage details will be given to me through your PayPal account. Just send me your Corrado Forum username in the message box so i know which member to remove from the list. The only other payment can be made be postal order (Post Office will charge you for this) or Bank transfer. Just to give members peace of mind, below shows that i paid for the shields... When they come i will take a photo of them and post them up here ;)

I have made a new thread... http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?76668-(Group-Buy)-For-Corrado-Heat-Shield-Hood-Liner
11. Hi, thanks to a Corrado Forum member (Portent) I have ordered some Corrado Heat Shield Hood Liners from http://www.classic9leathershop.com/Hood_Liner_Heat_Shields.html I contacted the Heat Shield supplier (Robert Budd), and was quoted a (BULK) Group Buy price for the following... ...One liner with shipping to the UK is $79 ...Quantity 5+ would be $35 for each liner and $8 for each emblem ...Shipping for 5 liners $50 ...Shipping for 10 liners $70 ...Shipping for 15 liners $80 .................................................................. I ordered 15 Heat Shields and 5 Emblems. On the other 'Bonnet insulation' thread only a few members wanted a G60 Shield. So my order consists of... 12X VR6 Heat Shields.........$420.00 3 X G60 Heat Shields.........$105.00 3 X Silver Emblems...........$24.00 2 X Red Emblems..............$16.00 Shipping.....................$80.00 TOTAL........................$645.00 (£409.08 GBP) When the parcel arrives i will pay the TAX, Duty and handling fees and add it to the £409.08. To whoever wants one, i will work out what each item cost me, and give it to you for that price plus postage and Packaging. I only need a VR6 Shield. That leaves... 11X VR6 Shields, 3X G60 Shields and 5X Emblems up for grabs. Please let me (and other members) know what you'd like, if it's a VR6 or G60 shield and if you want to include an Emblem, please state colour. I estimate the cost of each shield delivered to your door would be under £50. If the price is an issue, please be fair to other members and wait until i have the exact price before asking me to reserve a Shield for you. ................................................................................ Here is an Ebay link to the Classic 9 Leather Shop listing... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Volkswagen-Corrado-VR6-Heat-Shield-Hood-Liner-/290769552357?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Make%3AVolkswagen%7CModel%3ACorrado%7CSubmodel%3AG60&hash=item43b33743e5&vxp=mtr SELLER : robrtmichael ( 2696) 100% FEEDBACK I looked through the feedback and found these comments... BELOW IS A COPY AND PASTE OF SOME INFO FROM THE EBAY LISTING.... Compare this hood liner to a factory original or factory replacement. Factory Liner My Liner Will it rot? Yes No Material Latex Foam Vinyl Nitrile Fire Retardant No Yes Sound Insulator Yes Yes Heat Insulator Somewhat Yes Oil resistant No Yes Chemical resistant No Yes Water resistant No Yes Mildew Resistant No Yes Washable No Yes Nifty VW logo No Yes Made of 1/4 inch nitrile vinyl closed cell foam rubber, it will not absorb water or oil. Its light, about 14 ounces, and is also fire retardant and insulates against sound and heat. You can wash it and hose it off. Since it’s made for aircraft firewalls and bulkheads, it’s extremely light and unlike the factory liner will not absorb water and resists mildew. It has a smooth finish and the color is black. Its pre cut to fit all model Corrado VW VR6s with the same design as seen in the photographs. Installation is easy using 3M type #80 or # 90 spray adhesive or other high temp adhesive for vinyl nitrile foam rubber. I've found the decal doesn't travel well when it’s rolled up for shipment if it’s already installed so it will be shipped with the liner, and you can install it yourself. It’s not all that hard and instructions are included. Instructions To install this liner I recommend 3M spray adhesive #80. It’s a high temp contact cement adhesive made for this type of material. Do NOT use general adhesive sprays or sprays designed for carpet. On my own car, 3M # 80 has held up for several years. The hood liner is resistant to water, oils, heat etc, but its not indestructible. If you pull it too hard or gouge it with a tool it will tear. Handle it carefully. It's pre-cut to fit without trimming but if you stretch it don't worry, you can trim it off at the bottom. With the hood on a smooth flat surface and protected from scratches dry fit it to get a feel for the material and see how it lines up. Mask off areas to protect from overspray. Follow the instructions for the adhesive you're using. Spray the hood with adhesive. Cover the area you just sprayed with wax paper. The kind you get at a grocery store. The wax paper should be bigger than the hood liner so you can grab the ends. Spray the hood liner with adhesive. Set the liner into place on top of the wax paper. Line it up and tuck in the sides and corners. When it’s lined, up pull out the wax paper. Press the liner into place.

Portent i see there's almost a 2 week gap between your posts mate. I don't want to wait that long for a reply, i will order a batch and if everything goes well you can order another batch, or if you like, i can reserve a Shield for you. I'm sorry if i've hijacked your thread mate. I will start a new thread tonight for members who are serious about the Group Buy.

Yeah, i have the time. I have been on to Bob Budd (Classic 9 Leather Shop), he says he'll do the same deal with me. But i'd like to get the go ahead from Portent first, i wouldn't like to step on anybodys toes mate.

Portent would you mind if i took over the Group Buy for you? I would like to get the liner as soon as possible, but with only buying one it will cost too much, so i'd be willing to buy them in bulk to keep the cost down.

I take it that that price is for the 1/4 inch foam, would the 1/4 inch (6mm) be sufficient?
16. fitcy

Bonnet insulation

Is the price for the 1/4 or 1/2 inch thick foam? The site doesn't say how thick the rubber is for a Corrado.

VR6 BBS RS wheels

Ah thanks guys, i did a google search and found this site, i should have done this in the first place lol. These measurements are for the stantard wheel size, with tyre 205/50 R15... http://mcgrefer.com/sizeinfo/2055015 Overall diameter of the standard tyre is 586mm, and 205mm wide These measurements are for the 16" rims with 215/45 R16 tyres... http://mcgrefer.com/sizeinfo/2154516 Overall diameter of the 16" rims with 215/45 R16 tyres is 599.9mm, and 215mm wide Making these 14mm bigger (7mm closer to the arch) and 10mm wider (another 5mm closer to arch) These measurements are for the 16" rims with 215/40 R16 tyres... http://mcgrefer.com/sizeinfo/2154016 Overall diameter of the 16" rims with 215/45 R16 tyres is 578.4mm, and 215mm wide Making these 7.6mm smaller (nearly 4mm further away from the arch) and 10mm wider (another 5mm closer to arch) So i think the 215/40 R16 tyres would be the way to go, thanks very much for your help guys, much appreciated.

Let me begin by apologizing for the repeat posting in the first page. When clicking the reply botton after writing each of those posts (with the link to Ebay) the forum thru me out of the site. After taking a while to get back into the Forum, I then saw that my post wasn't displayed, so i wrote another, then it happened again and again, so i gave up lol, thank God, cause i would have looked even more silly now. I think (cause i'm new) the Forum needed the posts to pass the moderators incase i was advertising stuff. Thanks for the link JS, i don't think i'll use spacer after reading that link, although, i won't be using my car on a track. I always notice this happens when i think i get a bargain, but hopefully i'll be well please when i mine arrive. Yeah, i'm near sure they are the 6.5j wheels so i'll be getting 215s, thanks mate. Yeah, the tittle say 6,5 (which thru me off) but the listing says 6j, twice. I'm sorry EJ, i live in N.Ireland and shipping would be quite expensive, thanks anyway mate. I hope so lol

Thanks for the replys guys, I think Bristolbaron is right (you might not need to eat your hat lol) I bought the wheels on Ebay and i think the seller made a mistake in his listing... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221118613642?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 His listing says... Rim Width: 6J But after a few google searches i was able to find a set (BBS RS 771 Split Rims) that are 6.5j, that little half an inch means alot lol

VR6 BBS RS wheels

Thanks CM, can i still use the 45 profile on 215s? Thanks Jim, that's what i thought too, before reading what width they were lol ---------- Post added at 12:08 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:02 AM ---------- You just brought a smile to my face BB, i hope your right (and not have to eat your hat lol). Do you think 215s will not be safe mate?

VR6 BBS RS wheels

Thanks Steve, i was thinking 205s but hoping 215s would've been a safe limit, yeah didn't think about spacers. Any idea on what profile of tyres? I don't want to add coilover to lower it or anything like that, i want to keep the car as standard as much as possible.

VR6 BBS RS wheels

Hi folks, i've just recently acquired a Corrado, i'm not entirely happy with the dated look of the Solitudes, so i bought these refurbished 16" BBS wheels... I still haven't recieved them yet, but to my dismay i've just realised they are only 6J wide. I want to keep them cause i love the look of them and think they'll look well on the Corrado. My question is... what is the widest (and safe) tyre i can put on them?
