  1. Hi, Do you know where the lambda probe is and how to get to it on a G60? Just had a look under the car and round the back of the engine the best I could and can't find it, can't even see any wires that might be leading to it. Thanks Alan.
  2. Hi, Hope someone can help me with this problem that's just occured. Happened fairly suddenly, pulled away from one roundabout and it was fine but exiting the next one the engine refused to accelerate when I pushed the accelerator. Symptoms are, Idle has dropped to about 700rpm Running rough from 2000rpm, feels a bit like on 3 cylinders. All Plugs are very black and exhaust is smoking (running very rich) Using half throttle the car will accelerate slowly but pushing it to the floor feels like it's hitting a rev limiter. I've changed the black water temp sensor as I had a new one lying around but it made no difference. Does anyone have any ideas what to look at or try/test next? Nothing obvious seems out of place or broken. Thanks Alan.
  3. I've had 205 and 195 tyres on 16" wheels on both my Corrado G60 and Golf 16V and can say that the handling is much better and you even seem to get more grip, especially in the wet with the 195 tyres. In my experience the suspension on these cars doesn't seem especially suited to 205 tyres.
  4. Got the lamp today with part number 6K0 919 243 which replaced the old number, unfortunatelly it's not the part I need. The part with this number it the one on the left, the lamp I took out of the heater facia is the yellow one on the right. Have they given me the wrong part or is it for a different type of heater control, I have the early type in a 91 Corrado. Thanks Alan.
  5. Think they've changed the part no., just fed it into ETKA and it says it's been replaced by 6K0 919 243, bulb holder with lamp - £4.40+vat Will find out for sure at the weekend.
  6. Forgot to take the part no. with me. Showed them the lamp and they went away with it, came back 10 minutes later said are you sure it's a VW part, it's lot listed anywhere and we've never even seen one before. Went to the car to show them where it came from and was told that they only sell a new facia for about £30. Will try again next weekend when I'm back. Alan.
  7. Went to the main stealer today and as expected they don't sell the lamps, they also told me a new facia costs about £30. Had a look at a Golf facia and it looks like it will have the same lamp but I don't think I can get it out without breaking the facia. Will have a look for an old one tomorrow to break open and let everyone know if it fits. Alan.
  8. Thanks, wasn't expecting VW to supply just the bulb. Alan.
  9. Hi, The heater controls weren't lightin up so I've taken them apart and removed the lamp. Does anyone know anywhere that can supply replacement bulbs, I doubt VW would sell the lamp on it's own. The lamp has a mounded yellow plastic housing and the supply terminals slot into it, the supply socket is then plugged into the supply terminals. The only markings on the lamp are ALBA. Thanks Alan.

  11. Hi, Just bought a G60 last week and I'm not sure if this is a problem or not. When I drive the car the water temperature guage never moves off the stop unless I'm stuck in traffic for a while. I can drive 50 miles and it won't even move, bought a new temp sensor yesterday to try and found when I was sitting in traffic on the way home that the guage does move. Went all the way up to 110 and oil to 120  before I could find a safe place to stop and found the socket on the cooling fan had broken and fallen off :( fixed that now. Is it normal for the temperature to be this low during normal driving and only increase to 90 ish when in traffic? Thanks Alan.
