how much for it delivered? thank you
-
After a decat pipe if anybody has one. Thank you.
-
Well I did the oil change yesterday, along with a new filter. Thought I had the wrong filter at first but turned out it was the correct one. Went for a spin and it is a heck of a lot quieter and happier. Pretty happy so far, touch wood.
-
I think they're a bit up in the air at the moment, theres a LOT of rough examples out there, and similarly a lot of enthusiast owned cars with no end of money spent. They're only getting rarer, and I think in a few years these standard low milers will creep up a fair bit.
-
It was on Pistonheads straight after you sold it, for about £2200 if I remember correctly, then again on eBay, although I think his buy it now is rather optimistic. I think the bonnet is a wrap too. You not tempted? :)
-
Also, are there any other differences with an earlier VR? It's still an ABV but it has the distributor, hoping the oil filter is correct that I've ordered. Just ordered 6 litres of Helix and a filter so will probably get done tomorrow, weather permitting.
-
I think it'll get a subtle drop and maybe a decent back box. That will be about it really. Oil change due mind.
-
No, yours was probably one of the better one I viewed, I went to see 5 in total. 2 of which were absolute shockers! This was over the span of several months mind. I went off the idea to be honest, then this cropped up. I have seen yours for sale a further two times! Looks like they're trying to make a quick quid.
-
Yeah, to be honest I've been after another for the last few months, but I really didn't fancy a ropey high miler with an array of mods. Sent him a fairly cheeky offer and he accepted as he had taken it in in part ex, and admitted to not knowing much about them. It won't be getting much in the way of mods and will stay fairly standard. :) Edit: It's done most of the miles in the last 3 years too, it was on 55k in 2008 or so. Also has full history up to about 2010, including a copy of the original PDI which I thought was cool.
-
Taken it out again this evening and it rose to 85 at one point, then dropped just hovering above 70. Meh.

Hello all, I snapped this up when it appeared on eBay for a very attractive price. It is my second K reg VR, although this one is an earlier 1992 model, with the distributor. Just wondering if it is known on here? Not really done much yet, I'm fairly certain the TS is stuck open, and as it was fairly low on oil I topped it up to a more.. acceptable level. It has a bit of crazing on the front bumper, one of the side supports on the seats has collapsed and the gear stick is a bit worn, thats about it for bad points. Good points are its only done 87,000 miles, has 4 previous owners, and is completely bog standard bar mk4 rear calipers. It appears to have been looked after as fuel filter looks recent, as does the air filter. Someone has thankfully done the rear upgrade along with some braided hoses, and the fronts are standard with some green stuff pads and recent Brembo disks. The bushes all look good condition and theres no untoward noises, knocks or bangs. There is only a tiny rattle from the sun roof which I will sort, it really is the tightest and most rattle free Corrado I've driven.. Engine seems quiet and smooth like. All in all pretty pleased with it.

Well I've topped it up to mid way through the cross hatching with the funnel on, as it looks like that is how it was intended. Maybe they are for early ones? It took a good 1.8 litres to start reading, but seems fine now and seems.. happier. It'll do till I get a full oil change done.
-
Well this is a 1992. It sits flush with the orange part in place but removed it doesn't line up properly so presumably it is meant to be there. Which if it is, means I'm fairly low on oil..
-
Quick question, hope it's not too idiotic. My last VR most definitely didn't have the orange funnel guide that sits below the handle. Am I correct in saying I need to leave this on for a correct oil reading? I ask because a recent car I bought has one and with it on and inserted it will not read any oil. I'm wondering if its reading correct and its very low on oil. Removing it gets a reading at the correct level, so I'm not sure how the previous owner has been gauging it. Sorry if it's a stupid question.
-
Well both hoses seem to get hot simultaneously and gradually after about 3 or 4 minutes. So I can only assume if it IS stuck, at least its open. Tested the heater last night and the hot air was appearing after a similar time. So I might leave it for now, going to do a coolant change anyway.
-
I'm not too worried, oil temps are spot on and nothing else seems out of the ordinary. Heater works as quick as any I've seen. I'll clean the sender contacts up tomorrow as it looks very grubby.
-
Just wondering if anybody can shed any light; Oil temps are a nice and steady 92-100, although the water temp gauge doesn't go much above 70. Heater works fine. Sender at fault, stuck thermostat? Needle does move, though only marginally varies in traffic. Thank you.

sold Aqua Blue Pearl VR6 for £450 in West Yorks, Leeds
JimVR6 posted a topic in Cars for Sale [Corrado]
VR6 | Aqua Blue Pearl | West Yorks, Leeds Price: £450 Description: Hello, I advertised this earlier in the year and it received a lot of interest, a lot of the inquiries went no where and it didn't end up getting sold, it now sits in my unit and I have started doing bits to it but due to financial restraint amongst other things it must go. I'll sum up; I bought this car last year, as a complete car. A 1993 Aqua Blue Pearl VR6 as a bit of a stop gap car, with the intention of eventually restoring it. I drove it around for a few months and had no problems, it then blew a radiator return hose on the MOT ramp (hose was just perished with age) and I had to limp it home. I left it in the garden a bit de-motivated, the tax ran down and then I got another car. It then got semi stripped when I got a good offer on the leather interior. This then turned into a few more items, although nothing too major is missing, the MISSING list is as follows; Rear bench seat Rear door cards Rear bulb holders Rear plinth Front grill Headlamps & fogs Heater controls Gear gator & stick I have sourced some very good condition front cloth seats that will come with it. As I was planning on deleting the rear seats entirely. Aside from those items the car is complete, all of the running gear is intact. The sump gasket is brand new and just been replaced by me, I have a replacement rocker cover gasket that I have not fitted yet. The engine runs and the gear box is in perfect working order, it has done the usual Corrado galactic miles, 166 thousand or so, but I've got a box full of invoices and history, every MOT since new. I've just been tidying the underside up so I've spent a bit of time under the car. The wish bones have recently been rust proofed and painted by me, they also have some sort of sport poly bushes in. The car also has some unknown brand adjustable dampers on (I even have the damping key) It sits on the original speedlines that have been refinished in anthracite at some point. The window, spoiler and sun roof motors are still in. Off the top of my head, the spoiler works very slowly and only manually. I've got a first aid kit & a space saver spare I'll throw in. Rot wise, it's very minimal. On the body theres maybe one small scab on the drivers door and a few small bubbles on one arch. There's a panel that sits under the rad that looks a bit worse for wear but I've seen that go on a few Corrados, not sure what its called but its not structural. Any surface rust I found under neath (ie on the sub frame) has been cleaned and treated and painted. All body panels are still intact and have no dents in. The paints actually very good. Basically I just want it gone, it will run & drive onto a trailer, or roll. It's empty of oil currently as I changed the sump gasket but I can always re-fill it, even if its just to prove it runs fine. The front needs some pads but it will stop on the hand brake. I've even started refurbing the calipers.. Don't get me wrong, it is a project. But it is a 90% complete car that drives and a good starting point for somebody or for a donor vehicle to help another VR6 live. There is value in the parts left so I'm not going to GIVE the car away, but turn up with anything between £400-£450 and I'll happily let you trailer it away. Car is located in Birstall, Leeds. Please e-mail ahead if you want to come have a look, I can do most week day evenings and weekends. I'm happy to answer any questions if you want to PM me. I'm sorry the photos aren't the best but they give you a general idea of the current state. http://img17.imageshack.us/img17/3442/corr2z.jpg http://img600.imageshack.us/img600/8101/corr3.jpg http://img560.imageshack.us/img560/8337/corr4.jpg -
I have a first aid box. None of the contents have ever been opened and I'm led to believe it is original. I'll try get a picture next time I am up. It fits perfectly into the slot and definitely has some German writing on anyway.. How much posted?
-
Hello mate. It needs some head lights, front grill, rear plinth and rear bulb holders. Interior wise just needs some heater controls and some rear seats/doorcards. It will need to be trailered as no MOT/Tax and no headlamps. But it does drive and stop perfectly fine. I'm in West Yorks. Jim

Got a 90% complete car in my unit doing nothing, £500?
-
Got me scouring eBay for a 24v sump now..
-
I'm going to not bother, just going to make sure both mating sufaces are very clean and get it lined up right. There is some previous gasket stuff on the sump pan that I have cleaned off and just waiting for it to come through now. Does anyone know if you can get the fly wheel inspection cover gasket anywhere? It's the half moon shaped panel you take off to remove the sump, the gaskets split at the top. Oh edit: I see this is more a dust seal and is not really needed, thats good news then.

Yeah found them on GSF, although ECP were cheaper by about 2 quid and I can collect in store tomorrow so I went with them. How hard are they to replace? I'm guessing best way is to just saw through the existing bush. Edit: I'm a bit dubious about the quality of ECP bushes though. Am I better going with vwspares.co.uk? They are Febi and should be a bit better..
