  1. I obviously have a vested interest in this thread and dont want to hide that or want to be banned for my comments but remember Carbon is mainly about weight saving and not just the look as it does not suit all cars and will always be personal preference, companies that supply carbon parts (not just us!) can supply the parts primed ready to be painted which would still represent some 15kg saving over a standard bonnet even when painted and you would not know it isnt stock... On a dark car the roof skin I will always suggest stays carbon without painting (again personal preference but this is often not noticeable until you look closely) and then usually gets a wow comment, even the M3 now comes from the factory with a standard Carbon Roof although accept BMW might not always be the best examples and might be flamed on here but don't think anyone can argue with the M3's performance characteristics :-) Happy new year to one and all :-)
  2. Hi, Happy New Year when it comes to all people here on the forum, looking forward to working with you in 2013 to make your Corrado's even more special....and much lighter :-) All the best, Andrew and Lewis Please visit http://www.lwsdesign.co.uk and please pop by our Facebook page for infusion pictures and customers parts underway :-)
  3. Thought you might find this story interesting. Lewis Houben who owns LWS Design is a VW guy through and through, I know this is not a Corrado but thought you might still be interested, he has created many Mk2 Golfs ranging from one of the first VR6 Conversions many years ago to a crazy rear wheel drive VR6 Turbo Rallye and also this one which was based on the 1.8T Engine and was an absolute weapon.. Interesting coverage here on the Carbon panels which were bought from Performance Trim, This was this car that gave Lewis the bug for infusing Carbon after seeing and fitting the performance trim panels, little did he know a couple of years later he would own the old performance trim moulds and be producing his own panels. The attention to detail on this car gives you an idea to how Lewis views the work he does in Carbon. The last comment about the Lotus is well underway and we will be posting pictures through the Facebook page very soon, it will be a fully carbon bodied Exige powered by the 1.8T engine which will have a power to weight ratio to make your eyes water! http://www.lwsdesign.co.uk
  4. Thanks for the message, we are able to produce products with a Carbon / Kevlar mix but do not currently have stock of the Roll, Unless bought in quantity this is very expensive as a one off but as with most things if there is enough demand we can justify the purchase of the raw material but to put this into context the last roll of Carbon was over £2,200 so the raw materials are not cheap. Regarding location....Many apologies...I have chatted with Lewis about relocation for you but think we are quite settled in our new workshop, we do everything to keep customers happy but relocation is a little too much :-) Have a Happy Christmas everyone!
  5. Hi, Posted before I saw your edit on price, i didn't realise quite how strong the pound was at the moment against the dollar but I would expect that when you add shipping to the UK we would be very similar if not on the right side with LWS but as you pointed out ours is not the extended one..if there is enough demand for this we can rectify this! We sold the first one of these to a forum member on here for £150 but it proved a nightmare to make because of the way the two parts are bonded together so we had no choice but to increase the price, shame as for the amount of carbon vs. a bonnet or roof skin they do seem expensive.
  6. I was thinking this meant extending.... Extended, this is a mould that could be made if demand demanded :-)
  7. Hi, I have just had a look at spoonfed and i would say the prices are quite comparable especially bearing in mind our parts are much larger but for the rear spoiler we are actually cheaper (Although these are a nightmare to make!) We welcome feedback on prices etc, I know everyone would like everything cheaper (Especially me and Tesco after my recent Christmas shop!) but feedback is valuable, the parts are complex and time consuming to make but equally we want the prices to be fair to all..and hope offering forum members 10% will help this. ---------- Post added at 5:01 PM ---------- Previous post was at 4:58 PM ---------- Regarding the fitment, when one of these is fitted well there is no noticeable difference between the steel roof fitment and this except of course the huge weight change! They really do look like they were sent from the factory with them on but i beleive some members on here have them fitted so be good to hear from them with their thoughts.. There is a forum member on here happy to fit the carbon roofs if you are interested.
  8. I have some old grainy photos taken from a golf but the principal is the same, we do have a contact of a company that can fit these as well if needed.... Thanks, Andrew ---------- Post added at 12:29 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:28 AM ---------- just realised I might be in trouble for soft porn posters with the moderators for the pictures....sorry! This is NOT our workshop!
  9. Hi, Just wanted to make you all aware of our company LWS Design, we have taken over from where Performance Trim left off, We are able to produce Bonnets, Roof Skins and Spoilers for the Corrado. http://www.lwsdesign.co.uk Happy to offer Forum members 10% off our website prices. Please do contact me via PM or at [email protected] for more information on specific parts, also potentially looking at a group buy in the New Year for Wings but we would need to mould these first which is costly and time consuming and need 2 perfect wings to do this from so it is work in progress on the wings but the Bonnet, Roofskin and Rear spoiler are ready to go! Any questions just let me know. Thanks, Andrew
  10. Hi, sorry thought I was in the right Section...show me the way :-) Sorry from a Forum Newbie :-)
  11. Hi, The panels would certain ally be a different material to standard but this does not affect the Road Legal nature of the car but we always strongly advise making sure that the Insurance company is aware of your mods as is standard with anything you do :-) We await with interest how much people are wanting the tailgate and the Wings but the Bonnet, Roof and Spoiler are ready to be ordered an infused right away! Thanks for the comments regarding the products etc. All the best, Andrew
  12. Hi, the price of the Bonnet is £350 on the site but we would be happy to do a Christmas special for £315 plus postage although welcome to collect from our worshop if you local... Thanks, Andrew
  13. Interesting comments and sadly you have all picked on the one product that we don't have! We do the wings for the Mk1 Golf and have to say they are a nightmare to do and we increased the price from £600 to £800 based on this. We would be happy to investigate making a mould for the wings if the demand was there and usually we need 5 orders to justify the time in making the moulds... In the past we have made a mould just for a customer but the cost has been x5 usual product and people with large sums of money are not fazed by this but to me a group buy is the best way for this! Keep the comments coming especially if anyone is interested in the Bonnet, Roof Skin or Spoilers but if anyone is happy to commit to £750 for a set of Carbon Front wings or £350 for the Fibreglass ones then mention it on here and I can work out a plan....obviously for this to work we would also need to obtain a pair of perfect front wings to mould from... Thanks, Andrew
  14. Hi, Just wanted to offer Forum members the chance to buy Corrado Carbon Fibre Roof Skins, Spoilers or Bonnets at a special 10% off price. We can also produce these parts in Fibreglass Our website is live and available at http://www.lwsdesign.co.uk but please send me a message if you have any queries as I can improve this offer with more people and if we can get 5 of any item will increase the discount to 15%. Either PM me or email is [email protected] We have been working through eBay for more than a year with 100% feedback for mainly VW and Lotus car parts such as Door cards, Spoilers, Splitters, Roofs, Bonnets and Engine Covers but we have recently purchased almost all of the moulds the Performance Trim used to own so our product offering is large. We produce a very high quality product with 100% Satisfaction Policy, we have already sold a roof skin and spoiler to a forum member who came personally to collect from our workshop on Hayling Island. If you have any questions please let me know. Many thanks, Andrew
  15. Hi, We produce very high quality products and i can assure you were would not last very long on forums if our products were not upto standard. We have been operating an ebay store for the past year with 100% positive feedback making infused Carbon Roofs, Engine Covers, Bonnets and door cards for Lotus, VW and BMW's. People are buying with a 100% satisfaction guarantee and this forum has already generated a roof skin and spoiler which has been collected in person. We also have working with us 1 or potentially 2 old Performance Trim engineers during busy times so the products are every bit as good as in some cases come from the same moulds and even the same engineers. Do let me know if you have any queries, always happy to help.
  16. No problem at all, although our prices for compulsory postage just went up to £640 :-)
  17. Hi, I am just waiting for a response from one of the moderators as would love to be a trade advertiser here for lwsdesign. I will rename andrew_lwsdesign hopefully once approved Happy to do group deals and currently can produce Bonnets, Roof skins and Spoilers for the Corrado... ---------- Post added at 5:24 PM ---------- Previous post was at 5:21 PM ---------- We have bought all of the Corrado moulds, rights to the images and the website which has been rebranded, I have just contacted our website designer as all references to performance trim should have been removed...we have no association with them at all apart from purchasing the moulds... Thanks, Andrew
