Nice to see progress :). Regards to the engine - no, it never had a rebuild. The bottom end is from an old Audi 80 2.0 16V (6A) (used to be a show car). I would say it was rather maintained and the car had 90k miles. The head though was the original 1.8 16V KR one that was with this corrado.

A lot of time and effort has been put in to this car. But I own two Corrados and one is more than enough for me. Officially 1.8L 6 months of MOT&TAX Loads of new parts: -Newly built engine (1.8 head and dual KR exhaust cams, 2.0l 6A audi quattro bottom end with 41k original mileage). It does 47.9MPG on the motorway driving 60 to 70MPH, uses no oil, no smoke or rattles. -New oil and filter -New headgasket -New cam belt -New PAS pump belt -New shock mounts -New heater matrix (Febi) -New fan temperature switch -Recent brake pads -1 year old tires (Goodyear EcoGrip) - 7mm allround -1 year old coilovers All electrics working Uprated headlights Body has surface rust, dents and scratches but in general is in a very good shape Good mileage for its age. Rota Zero alloys 8J all round (would need some refurb as the lacquer is flacking and one of the wheels is curbed) Bad bits: 1. Exhaust needs welding, the rear silencer box has rusted off since the last MOT. I am also including a 4 branch manifold which i was hoping to fit to redo the whole exhaust. 2. Has dents and scratches, but still nothing major 4. Sunroof only opens one way (common corrado problem) 5. Driver seat is ripped (most likely to be fixed before the sale) 6. No spare wheel - £30 to get a space saver one 7. Grill has been stolen, but a new one is on it's way Overall it is a technically sound car with body in an average condition. I have tried to be as honest as I can. Any questions - please do not hesitate. I am open to sensible offers and part ex with VW with small engine size. £980, nearest offer or swap (not interested in straight swaps as I still want to make some money, but anything cheap that has got small engine, mot and tax interests me, preferably VW) 07 FIVE FIVE 466 1912

I have checked the shocks and springs - no leaks, some rust on shaft threads, but the shaft itself has got no rust or scoring. The outside and the springs are a bit rusty. Do you need them? Off a 16v Corrado they are.

Got all shocks and springs - need new shock mounts. I do not know the state of them, they were fine when i took them off but that was a year ago.

Would swap: complete 9A head + KR intake cam The head is from a 6A engine but is identical to 9A head. For extra 10 can include KR intake cam. The 6A it is from has only done ~40k miles so in pretty good condition (took apart as i only needed the bottom end). Would swap the head, or the cam for old type Corrado grill. Can deliver for free, depending where abouts are you, as I often travel around UK List Date: 6/4/2014 For more info, click here to view the original listing: Would swap: complete 9A head + KR intake cam -------------------------------------- On Sale For: ?40.00 -------------------------------------- Mobile friendly version: Would swap: complete 9A head + KR intake cam Go Mobile: Download the free Panjo iOS app now!

Any chance you have a 9A block in a good condition? Or even a complete engine?

Would Seat Ibiza's steering rack fit as well? We are talking about pre 92 Corrado. My guess is MK2 and MK3 Ibiza should have the same UJ ? Which one is better? Any chance of upgrading the steering pump as well - would I benefit from that?
-
Yeah, I am thinking of replacing the steering pump anyway. MK2/3 - what is involved in the mod? Would I have to change the steering column as well when replacing the rack? Or does it have the same amount of "teeth" to help with the fitment? I was running 185 tires all the time. It did change a bit when I went for lower ET rims (ET10).
-
It being a K-Jet - I would think that might be fuelling issue. Maybe this will help.
-
Well yeah, but still - I want the power steering to do the job for me :). My steering wheel is already quite big.

I thought that quattro gen-1 had viscous coupling as well...
