Now I have always been a fan of the corrados but it seems that VR6 drivetrain is way more superior to the pre 92 corrados. I was interested to know what swaps/jobs/mods could be done so that you could use less force to the steering wheel when steering. It is not me who has the issue but my girlfriend :). Would front end drivetrain swap from a VR6 do the job?

I have decided to sell my Rotas. They are 15 in diameter, 8J in width and ET10 with Goodyears 185/55 all round (done under 1000 miles, still look like new). I'm looking for £400 ONO. Lacquer has flaked of on some of the wheels but nothing really major. I have started refurbishing one of the wheels and got very good results with little effort. They do have some kerb scuffs/damage - but also, nothing you would not be able to repair. Located in Coventry.

I mainly need this part to use it as an adapter plate for custom ITBs, but since it is way cheaper if I order more than one I thought I could give it a go and see if anyone else is interested. 16mm thickness, 6061 aluminium alloy, extrusions are made so that the hex bolts would be levelled with the surface. If I order 10 - 1 would cost no more £80 shipped to anywhere in UK. (that is the best price I can get so far - I am looking for cheaper options though and I will post a better price if I find one) PS - I am not willing to make any money for it so any sort of help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Best pic until I get a proper camera.

Ok, sorry for not reading through the later posts before posting. Looking forward to new posts about the build!

If you smell petrol - it might be a blown head gasket.

No luck in using the compound i've offered ?

Compression ratio, ignition timing, fuel injection management (it is possible to keep k-jetronic though), pump, injectors, injector wiring... manifolds = custom exhaust, would benefit from custom intake manifold as well

Nah, I love it when people hear me coming (over the speedbumps) lol. BTW does anyone know how much would it cost to fix a dent on the wheel (1st picture in previous post) and where in Birmingham?

If anyone is interested in engine + gearbox, i'd be interested in loom and ecu :)

9J all round?

How dare you ?! :) A pack of cigarettes can barely pass.

Oh yeah, that was just for test fitting. 4 bolts holding it in place. Had to make a custom horn button as well.

Looks more like aqua blue pearl (LC5U) to me - god knows that I love that color.

At the moment I am working on some engine bay mods and hopefully I will be done by the end of summer: Porting, aligning and cutting will take place. Eventually, I am hopping to get the TGVs off a Subaru to work like proper ITBs :)

It took me quite a while to get to the point the car is at the moment, but because I think that the thread is worthless without pics - I'm gonna go through it. The car was in an excellent shape (for the price I have bought it). It had a lousy paint job though - the lip and some other plastic parts which were painted over did not look right and it all got sorted eventually... First thing I started off with was the ceiling - I had the old dettached fabric replaced with some tartan: Just because I thought that was not enough I had the headlights cleaned and painted: I had to take this picture as my wife was working at Renault at that moment... The work on the car took me some time as I work and I am a full-time student, but whenever I had a chance - rather than going out I would spend the time on the car. In the end - image is everything . One of the first more noticeable mods that I've done was the steering wheel which I attained of a Ford Escort for £5. Always used to love that retro look... Anyway, I had to cut the original steering wheel boss (as it was welded on) - there is nothing that the hack-saw would not cut. Afterwards I had it prepped for painting (at that point I was thinking of polishing it but somehow i changed my mind). Could not help it - I had to stick a Porsche sticker on top after the job has been done :) ---------- Post added at 4:29 AM ---------- Previous post was at 3:33 AM ---------- Continuing the thought about the pics: Throughout the year not a lot of jobs have been done as this was my daily car. I bought myself a set of wheels, which I think look good, with some new tires: Of course it was left untouched throughout the winter... Parked my car next to a Porsche in spring - could not help not taking a photo Had no time to spend on the car which led my to spending money on brake pads as they were completely worn. The garage quoted me £125 for the replacement and the works that have been done. In the end I was bleeding the brakes with a help of my friend and a bottle of Corona outside my new (rented) house as they did a "crappy" job - the whole brake system was full of air. I have replaced the front panel at that time as well as the one that i bought the car with was bent - it has obviously had an accident, although a minor one. I thought that the wheels didn't look good without the center caps and I let my imagination to break free This is the point where it got to a "ridiculously low" stage...

Finally decided to start my own thread... I thought maybe someone as passionate as me would read it. This is the third Corrado I bought (1st non G60 one and right hand drive). The previous ones (one of them which still i possess) were Aqua blue pearl (LC5U) ones - I think I've just fallen in love with the blue Corrados... Moving along! This Corrado I would call "love at first sight". What the seller asked for the car (what I am going to keep a secret) got me hooked. When I first came across it on "Autotrader", I straight away called the seller, bought a train ticket, took cash out of my account, got to Oxford... The first time I drove in UK was with this car and I think that's what makes it special. 21/09/12 - the following morning after purchase this is how it looked:

Ebay would be the best bet i would think. Is your one completely shattered? PM

I'm looking for a broken early grill - rather than throwing it away i would pay the postage fees for you to send it to me.

:thumbleft: Yup, that's what i'm doing - took me 20 insurance companies to get a quote, and it is more than without my no-claims. Used to pay £1420... Abroad - £180 (annual) after 5 years ---------- Post added at 11:18 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:05 PM ---------- Like they would say otherwise :) . The point is that when I asked "why I can't get a quote" I got an answer "I don't know, maybe you've got criminal convictions...". I find it quite offensive, but still that won't change the problem - the costs of insurance are ridiculous, maybe because of foreigners such as myself, but damn it - most of them who get involved in an accident (not only participants, but culprits - can't even find another word to express myself) don't even have valid insurance or proper driving license. In the end - I want to have a proper insurance (with the address where I live). Not Swansea one which gets me £30 a month and is not quite legal...
-
No offence, but there is no logic in your logic - if they charge more for third party, people will buy fully comp, so statistics would also change. It's just a never ending loop... Just think of how much money the insurance company makes... Millions a month for an "what if". To be fair it should be government controlled. Been quoted £1500 and its still too much...
-
Water? Are you talking about my picture? It's only cropped.
-
I do understand that, but the point is this is the part which is effected by the no-claims. And it SHOULD be cheaper than fully comp... I guess in the end the underwriters want me to move to Wales (it is extremely cheap if you live there) lol.
