    Hi I've heard that if an engine's timing is too far advanced the engine will ping - which is supposed to sound like marbles rattling - BUT is this 'a faint bag of marbles rattling in the distance' or is it a violent marbles in a bottle shaking close to my ears?? - I am hearing something but do not know what it is....   3. Hi , I am in the process of heavily modifying my G60. I've been playing with the idea of taking the 4WD drive system out of a Rallye & lobbing it into a my Corrado. Does anyone know if this is possible, and has anyone attempted this before ? Cheers H

    LHD/RHD Gearbox

    Hello, Does anyone know if a Corrado G60 gearbox out of a LHD C will fit a RHD one. Thanks in advance H
  7. hi - I have the same problem, but can't find: I can see only 2 vac pipes coming off the back of the inlet menifold, 1 goes to the ECU, the other comes around the front of the inlet manifold and over to the left of the engine bay and on to a black plastic junction of some sort?? - apologies for my ignorance. Anyone got a photo?? Cheers H
  8. Hi, I have just got my hands on a replacement intercooler for my G60. I will be fitting it on the weekend, but this is the first bit of DIY I'll be doing on the car & was hoping someone could give me an idea as to the order in which to dismantle bits to get to the intercooler. e.g. is it best done from underneath the car? or can I reach it from the engine bay?? Ideally I want to take all the hoses apart and put them back together as the guy that originally put the engine back in after a rebuild was somewhat less than competent & I suspect that in addtion to having a leaky intercooler, the hoses are leaking at the joints somewhere.   9. Hi, The water temp warning light is flashing, but the water temp guage seems to be working fine, the oil temp is also within the normal range. The fan is also swithching on & off as per normal. Does the light flash if the coolant level is low or if there is a leak or something?? Cheers - its a G60

I had a powerflow exhaust system fitted to my Suzuki Cappuccino(not a Corrado I know - it is my other car 657cc +turbo charger = 110bhp on a car that weighs 725kg - loads a fun) Anyway, I have two twin DTM exhaust pipes & no silencer Sounds great - just like a sports bike, but the quality of the weld was brought into question when I had the car MOT'd - so go to a recommended garage.   11. Hi, My gear shifter is worn and in need of replacement, has anyone fitted the All Smiles motorsport style shifter on Corrado? How does it feel? where does the lever sit relative to the steering?? I find the stock gear lever a little too low for my liking, I want some opinions of the unit before I spend 400 quid on it! Has anyone fitted any other quickshifts? Cheers

  13. When I say perforated - I mean like a PG tips tea bag - i am getting this changed very soon! I am actually having a front mounted Porsche 944 intercooler squeezed in!
  14. Thanks, I will do the checks tonight. I am based in NW9, also when you say give it a tune up where should I go to get this done, or is this something I can do? Additionally, I peformed the boost check as described in other messages, the boost reads 1010 and does not change irrespective engine speed. There is obviously something wrong, but what do i need to check? Cheers H
  15. Hello, I recently bought a 1991 G60, I aim to turn it into a bit of a monster. As such I have had the engine rebuilt and head ported & flowed, the cam profile has been 'modified' to allow higher lift. I plan to do all the usual mods with regard to charger pulley, injectors etc However, I have the following problems (pre-chipping) no power before 2 rpm - but flys on the motorway i.e. higher revs I can smell petrol when idling sloppy gear change perforated intercooler - (this will be changed soon) very noisy belt/pulleys Car is stock in all respects apart from recent work. Can anyone recommend a G60 specialist? I am new to this car & the VW scene. Thanks in advance
