turns out i didntneed new startermotor ignitionbarrell was broken.. so fitted push button start! well happy!

fitted a push button start, changed the spoiler rise button to start engine. absolutely wicked mod! was gonna be a temp solution to a broken key barrell but so pleased im gonna keep it

i had this issue but it was wipers wouldn't go off lol took relay out shook it and put it back in.. worked fine lol

i have this issue and its from sunroof seal, if no sunroof seal then cud be door seals...

didnt jack the car up.. but tried wot u said with the full lock with the cap off but didnt work... it works fine just ive seen this noise i other car and it slowly gets worse until the steering locks up...

ok i was in a shock as the when i checked the fluid level is was way below minimum so bought some gree power steering fluid from halfords... and its still making the whining noise its never done this before was always silent... worried ive screwed it up by not using vw fluid.. will this matter?

cheers guys.. any idea if a specific brand or type of fluid is required or will any generic power steering fluid work?

in my opinion id recommend a compression test on the cylinders, check if its head gasket. id also check all ht leads are in the correct order this will also cause a missfire. other people may have better solutions but im just letting you know what was wrong with mine when i had this issue.
