  1. steering wheel turns though so the steerng lock can't be on. I had noticed that occasionally the ignition barrel was sticking in when you remove the key so I bet something has seized. I deciding what to replace. Barrel for sure, suppose the switch at the same time but don't know if it is easier to change casing or not. Also have to work out how I am going to get the car moved, AA job perhaps.
  2. Help! :( My key just stuck in the ignition when I arrived at work. I can turn it a little bit, enough for fans etc to work (pos 1) but thats it. I can't turn it back enough to get it out. I've sprayed a load of wd40 on it in a hope it is a sticky mech again, any one got any other ideas? Cheers, Duncan
  3. I'm stuck on 17s, my 15s won't clear the brakes, and suggestions on tyre sizes to look for as I'm struggling.
  4. Tried to get some winters today...left it a little late, only ones available were Hankooks which I've reserved for now. Trouble is they are 215/45/17, he said at the time they would be pretty much the same rolling size but thats clearly not right now I think about it. Will the fit ok though? car is lowered on coilovers.
  5. Since it happened the first time with me I keep some wd40 in the boot just in case :-)
  6. Squirt a little WD40 in the lock and put the key in and out a few times, the levers (if they are called that) can sieze a bit and not always move the profile of the key so leave it locked.
  7. Yesterday, it was white, low and loud and in Grantham at about 8am.
  8. Very sad news indeed. :( When my laptop and camera were stolen from my car my home insurance covered then and it was only a simple policy so worth a try. I've had two dash smokin brown trousers moments, one in an old mini from incorrectly installed fuel lines melting through on the manifold - that could have been nasty. The second was in my current Corrado, fortunately it was the factory fit sony head unit that failed and began to smoke badly so I pulled over (with its occupants leaving the car before I stopped!) and took the keys out which, killed its power, I just removed the headunit before continuing. Hope you're looked after and can get another nice motor.
  9. N 57ORM here  Saw 57 ORM up for £18k :brickwall:
  10. I guess so, I know nothing about them though, any recommendations?
  11. Done :salute: I wonder if we are quick about the list if we can get full season boxes made up and a group buy from an online merchant

  13. Black G60, Today, Lincoln Triton Retail park. Reg VVL ???
  14. Thanks very much to Adam Warburton (adamwarb), I just bought a bentley manual from him and it arrived very quickly in some seriously good packaging. 8) thanks
  15. It was specifically the Young Sport and Young Expert I was looking at and it was only our opinion rather than that of the sale sperson when looking at them. We didn't feel the Recaro was as well padded or offer as much side protection as others, also, from previous experience the recline option is very useful which others did better. I don't know about the younger models however the 3yr+ Monza looked good, but I wasn't in the market for one. The sales person was in Halfrauds, I'm guessing there is no comission there? at least there wasn't when I worked for them  Their comment on certain kind of clientele is almost ironic given the type of products they sell in there! If anyone is in the area of kiddicare I strongly recommend their facilities for seats.
  16. I must admit I went with the idea of getting a matching pair as I thought it would look good and assumed the brand would make the best given the prices too. I'm looking forward to the next change of seat as the bulky group 1 seat is pointing those little feet into kicking range of the front seats. Hopefully the distraction of picking the "corrado-for ~.n t" window sticker will stop that
  17. I was in the same position a while back, I was not impressed by the Recaros in comparison to other makes, we went for a maxi cosi and they also seem to offer more protection for the little one. The seat expert said the Recaros were only ever bought for the badge and by certain clientele  also considered the seats that lasted until they were 12 and thought that I would rather buy another seat at a later stage as I wondered how that length of time would treat a car seat the moved between car etc all the time in both looks and safety. For reference in the Corrado I've used without problem, Maxi-Cosi Cabriofix, Maxi-Cosi Axiss (and the similar BeBe Comfort version before maxi cosi bought them out), BMW/Mini branded seat and the Graco Junior high back. Can also fit Jane powertrack and Quinny Buzz pushchairs in the boot ;-)
  18. Fair point it...certificate.jpg[/attachment:2afl87ep]
  19. seems a bit that way. Rack and column next then it just leaves the engine as largely untouch bar chains/clutch. Then it'll be time to start again I should think  I don't know how we've never spotted each other, I'd be very intested in seeing the work you've done on yours, engine sounds like fun :norty:
  20. oh, thats interesting especially as I am not trying to remove the last little bit of play. Any idea on a new rack price? Column will get it next now doubt!
  21. If I was Prodrive, I'd let Renault F1 go to someone else and wait a few weeks... Renault will then sell a better 'Cup' version that'll be quicker but with less equipment.
  22. Long time since updating my thread, mainly because I've just be doing lots of driving and no work on it, up until the other day: New Front Tyres, Conti Sport Contact 3 Ball Joints Track Rod ends Front Wheel Bearings Oil Change Service MOT Laser Alignment check 3 times in two weeks Planning on rack replacement and rear bearings (play after 10k!) in the new year. Couple of MOT advisories: Exhaust bracket; small hole in exhaust and a slightly corroded brake pipe somewhere apparently. Keep going like this the car will be new
  23. Well a few days have passed. Its been on some ramp that shakes the car to help detect problems only normally evident when moving. Diagnosis is that there is wear in the rack so I'll get a recon replacement in a month or two. Also, my rear wheel bearings are already showing signs of play after less than 10,000 miles, thats rubbish!
