  1. We'll she's going in for a service on thursday at the stealers so i'll see what they say and if it's fixable or not, but i would have thought you could purchase reconditioned ones or at least get the one on the car recondittioned? I obviously don't want to get a new one.........£££££££££££££££££

  2. Architectural technician (I do the job that the architects get paid for  )

So if anyone's building an extension or wants advice on planning or building reg's then phone somone else  (Just kiding)

 Just a word of warning should you take my advice if anyone wants it then if your house should fall down for whatever reason then it's not my fault :!:

  3. Just wondering before i do any work on the C. Which is the best Haynes manual to buy I.E either the Passat or the Mk3 golf. Any suggestions?

    2.0 16v on an L plate......

Edit - I'm hoping to find out whats wrong with the briakes as they have a habit of being really vague sometimes and the Mk2 golf haynes manual has no comments on Abs pumps e.t.c. as i have already changed the Master Cylinder after buing a new one from the Stealer for £165 and finding it didn't actually fix the problem.

  4. So far all the work i've done on my 2.016v has been either through the Forum or through my old Mk2 golf Haynes manual and also the knowledge that i encountered whilst working on my Mk2 16v as i believe that the engines in both cars are very similar. So if i were you i'd try and get hold of the haynes manual for the golf 3 or passat as the 2.016v engines in them from memory are almost identical to that of the one in the Corrado.

  5. I think i've got the same prob. But not entirely sure. Whenever i brake it makes a horrible grinding noise and it sometimes losses pressure and the breaks just don't work at all for a couple of seconds

I had a similar problem on my Mk2 and i changed the Servo/Master cylinder which fixed the problem so i'm probably going to do the same with the Corrado and hope it solves the problem.

  6. Okay on the Multi changer there is

    Red Hot Chilli Peppers

    Morcheeba

    The Thrills

    Toploader

    REM

    Dido

    Fat Boy Slim

    Justin Timberlake

    U2

    The Pogues

and currently the Mini Disc is playing Sting (Best of).

On the shopping list at the moment is Counting Crows, Hothouse Flowers, Stereophonics, Norah Jones, Katie melua and Kate Rusby just for starters...

  7. Okay she's clean BUT just before i took these shots the front bumper decided it was going to jump off and i don't supose it had anything to do with the fact that i was trying to do a three point turn between to grass banks 8) .

Anyway i managed to push it back on and it seems to be holding but i'll have to inspect it more closely as the last thing i wan't is for it to come flying off as i shoot down the road and then run over e.t.c. Punctures Blah Blah Blah.

  8. Cheers for the ideas guys. It's stopped raining now   so i can still do it outside due to the garage being full of the old mans rubbish and all the doors into the house just a little bit narrow and even if i did find an umbrella big enough i've got no one to hold it. :( (especially being that it's feb 14th and all)

  9. 23, and i appologise for the second car i just don't know what happened.

1983 1.1 Golf GL in White

1987 1.1 F**t Uno also in White  :pukeright:

1990 1.8 16v Golf GTI in Royal Blue Mettalic (undoutably the best colour) which i sold to go travelling (Tw*t)

    18months with no car. :( :(

    and now

    1994 2.0 16v Corrado in Black :)

The golf was modified in as much as it had a powerflow exhaust, K & N filter, Superchip & K-star fuel management system to convert it to run on unleaded.

The Corrado is currently standard but there are some plans in the pipeline interms of styling (Wheels e.t.c) and possibly some engine mods (not quite sure yet.)

  10. Cheers Cheesy, Have you had a new suspension set up or are you till running the original stuff :?:

As i'm still convinced this is the problem. But without changing the suspension I don't really have any way of checking it.

  11. Cheers for those guys. Sorry for the late reply i've been (Shove in some laim excuse) well actually I forgot i had written this thread

I'll try some of those this weekend when i get the time and we'll see what happens.

The head unit is a Sony MDX C6500r. (It's a Mini Disc)

  12. Phil K - it's a 93 L reg and no it hasn't got the rear centre arm rest, but i managed to pick one up yesterday and at some point i'm going to get the lot retrimmed in black leather.

Joebrent - Yeh i was lucky to find it. I've only had her for a month or so and she came with a full service history and quite a few receipts. (So she's just a good original car.)

  13. I've just changed the front wheel bearings on mine and it's stopped the knocking and notchy steering which is similar to what you just described and it's fine now.

So if i were you i'd get them done A.S.A.P. I went to my local steller for my wheel bearings and he charged me £39 for the pair (With 10% discount for CCGB membership) and i fitted them myself after previously having changed them on a mk2 golf i found it quite a simple job (Second time round  )
