  1. I've just finished re-newing the underside of my Corrado. I removed subframe, ARB, front and rear axle. Had them sandblasted and powder coated. I replaced the wishbones and drop links also.

After fitting I coated everything in 2 cans of this stuff

It leaves a hard wax finish on metal and is almost invisible. My new parts dont look as shiny but I think they will last alot longer.

  2. Hey Jim

How did you get on? I had my subframe and ARB power coated a few weeks ago and refitted last week. I also installed it upside down and then changed it around. I now have a new issue where the ARB is touching the exhaust. I'm stumped :(

  3. I've been cleaning and replacing parts under my Corrado too. I've removed everthing for powder coating or replacing.

I bought 2 of those from here http://www.volksbits.com/

The MK4 golf sensors replace the Corrado ones. I got mine last week and they would perfect. Chinese copies but I can buy 8 of them before I'd have spent the same money as the VW part.

  4. I like the cup holder guys. Its very useful, best fitter to the passenger side. I've fitted one to each of my 3 Corrados. Its very oem and pops up in one motion. My one is all black and the rubber base mat is black too.

  5. @ Pete

They will fit fine without any body work lowered. The red Corrado has spacers due to it having such large calipers on the front. I know the lad that owns the car and he has Leon Cupra R brakes under it.

I just email William in Performance alloys and he said "Sorry, I have no pending orders for these at the moment and as such cannot quote a date"

I'm on the look out for a set in 16" perfably or 17"

  6. There are jack plugs located at the fuse box area for the drivers door. You can disconnect each then remove the door without removing the doorcards. I am sure it's the sane fir the passenger side, I removed my drivers door last week to replace the hinge pin.

  7. @ Philuk

I would get them done to original standard.

The fronts are 16X7.5 ET20?? Do they stick out from the arches at the front?

    Thanks

    Dave

  8. @ big ben

They are speedline 2110 in 17". They were made last year by Speedline and the group buy was offered here. An American lad got them made and I'm pretty sure he done the deal through performancealloys.com, based in Northern Ireland.

They are no longer available but I've been in contact with a few Speedline resellers and they will make another run if we got a minimum of 6 customers, ie 24 wheels.

    what do you think?

  9. @ Kev,

I did speak with Comp yesterday and this morning. They were under the impression that ET 35 8J would fit flush or inside my arches.

I really dont fancy the 8J rim, seems like alot of road surface. Would prefer 7.5 but still not convinced of the wheel design :(

Yes, they are brembos on that Red Corrado, pretty sure they are the ones off a Leon Cupra.
