Ahhh, I'll give that a go. Is that the part number you've just put or is that just a example?? I've been using a different number that's all.
-
Thanks for that. I already have the part number but it comes up as not available when you enter it. Going to email vw heritage with it and go through them I think. Cheers
-
Really, that great. I don't suppose you have a link to it? I was only looking yesterday but didn't see one, but then my German is not so good and the pics ain't great on my phone. Cheers

Hi guys. Looking for a few parts for my vr. If anyone can help I have cash waiting, Late heater control parts, I only need the wheel/cog for the directional control so if anyone has one that's damaged elsewhere? Also need the Bowden cable for this aswell. Mines jammed solid hence why the controls broken. Front drivers fog light. Must have no chips or cracks. Centre console, the part that houses the radio etc. Gear knob, again must be in good condition Also need a drivers side scraper seal but I'm not even going to ask on that one. Any help would be massively appreciated. Cheers.

Bit unlikely now I know, but I'll take the BMC for your original asking price if the other sales fall through. Cheers

Your right there. I want to keep the car as original as possible but don't mind changing subtle things that improve the car. What car do the door strikers come from? My drivers door is difficult to close, needs a really good slam to get it to shut properly.

Just been out and had a look at the wipers and they are indeed lupo ones. Good job you guys noticed, the blades are past there best and would've just gone out and bought corrado ones, then spent hours wondering why they didn't fit.
-
Thanks, it is completely original, well I thought it was until you mentioned the wipers. What's the deal with those?? I've always thought they didn't look right but couldn't put my finger on why. And yes I have joined CCGB, member number 3996 :thumbleft: ---------- Post added at 12:08 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:05 AM ---------- So even though I've had the car 6 weeks, today was the first day I've had to really look into the car to see what needs doing. So far I've noticed the coil pack is cracked, I have a slight water leak from the radiator elbow and I have two oil leaks, one from the rocker cover and one from the sump. They can't be that bad though as its been parked in my car port for 2 weeks and there's nothing on the floor. Also noticed the power steering fluid was low so will need to look into where that's gone. The only other thing I noticed was the rear inner arch's where they join the sill feels a bit "spongy" so will get that looked into as part of the respray I'm planning over winter.

So as some of you may had read my next problem came in the form of my gearbox mount letting go. After some research I decided to go for a full set of VT mounts and placed a order. To cut a long story short the sale fell through due to a stock delay and after I got my refund a decided not to bother with the VT's due to reading about vibration been transferred into the cabin. So a quick phone call later had me a full set of genuine mounts ordered from VW. Picked up the gearbox one today but will have to wait till mon/tues for the others. Cracked on and fitted the gearbox one so I could drive it again as its been off the road 2 weeks and I was having withdrawl symptoms. Can anyone spot the problem with the old one?? So my first job was to sort out the drivers door handle as I couldn't open the door from the outside and it was rather embarrassing climbing in through the passenger door all the time. This forum came to the rescue for the first time and I ordered these from Dave16v. I only got a pic of the passenger one as I got a bit carried away fitting and forgot to take pics. Great bit of kit and easy to fit once you realise the drivers side handle bolt is left hand thread. Haha. I didn't really need the passenger one but thought I'd change it anyway for piece of mind.

Hi all, been on the forum a while now and already found it a really good source for information. Thought I'd start a thread mainly to keep track of what I've done and also maybe to share my experience's to hopefully help out others that may have the same issues as me. So I've had my 1995 Sherry Pearl VR6 for about 6 weeks now and I love it. A lot better than my old Golf VR I had before, turns a lot of heads and had some great comments from people in the street. So here's the car, It's not without its faults, but overall it's not a bad example. It's covered 122,000 has full history, a file full of bills and receipts and nearly every MOT from new. Was glad to see from the receipts it's recently had a heater matrix replaced, recon abs ecu (whatever that is) along with new abs sensors and a new radiator. So all in all I'm very happy with it, my progress will be a bit slow as I work away during the week and have to spend some time with the family etc but I'll just plod on with it and do bits as and when I can.

If it does have one it controls the immobiliser. So if you remove the chip the car won't start

Hi guys, as per title I need the bolt that goes into the centre of the gearbox mount, not the ones that hold the mount to the subframe. I need it fairly quickly as I've just ordered a set of vt mounts and the bolt on my mount has snapped. Hope to fit them on bank holiday weekend. Alternatively if anyone knows the exact spec of the bolt (size, pitch, length and tensile strength) so I can order one online that would be great. Cheers.

Fun with a Clifford - and I don't have the code!
Hinesy replied to fonzooorooo's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
I know you've sorted this now, but if anyone is interested. Not even a dealer can reprogram the alarm without the pin code. The Clifford program (cliffnet wizard) won't even let you into the system without it. So without it the alarm is pretty useless. When new the code would be on a sticker on the back of the remote but these obviously don't stay put for long. Only long shot would be to try the original fitting dealer to see if its kept on record. If you have a concept 650 or newer this isn't a problem as they changed the software to allow reprogramming without the pin code. As a alarm fitter of 12yrs I wouldn't recommend a Clifford, I fitted them for years and found them far to complicated for the average person, unreliable and a bit of a gimmick. Would stick with someone like laserline or cobra if I was fitting a new system. -
Cheers for that. I've made a decision though. Since I've waited 10yrs to buy one and I'm not planning on getting rid anytime soon I'm going to splash out and buy a full set of vt mounts. Just shopping around now for a decent price. Anyone know the spec of the gear box mount centre bolt? It that that's actually snapped so will need a new one.

Thanks for the info. I'll look into those. What what brands would be classed as well known?

Evening all, ive been working away for two weeks and was iching to take the vr for a spin today. Anyway i went and picked the car up from my garage and started to head home, came to a roundabout with a straight bit of road after it changed from second to third and floored it and instead of the vr6 noise i was expecting i got a rather loud bang and a shock through the car. So i got the car home and looked under the bonnet and found the engine mount had completly snapped (the one to the rear right as you look at the bay. So what im asking in a long and drawn out way is what to replace them with? Can you still get genuine ones from the dealer? I would prefer genuine as the vt ones are rather expensive and i'm not sure i trust the ebay ones. Im going to replace all 3 while i'm at it. Lucky its only a weekend toy really. Any advise would be great and sorry for the essay, just thought a bit of a story would be better than just writing "what engine mounts should i buy"

I'd also take a few sets. Cheers

Hi, guys. As the title I'm looking for a drivers side front fog light or just the glass. Also need a centre console trim ( the bit that goes around the radio etc) And lastly I need the little plastic caps that cover screws on the trim around the clocks Any help greatly appreciated. Cheers.

Door handle repair kit..........THEY ARE NOW AVAILABLE
Hinesy replied to daves16v's topic in Suppliers Forum
Just received mine this morning, only ordered them Monday so was well chuffed with delivery time. Got straight on and fitted them. Thought they were very well made and the instructions were easy to understand. Took me no time at all to do. Thanks -
Don't worry I'll probably be hiding to, mine needs some bits doing to bring it up to the standard I want. Shame your thinking of selling, I had a golf vr6 a while back and it used to cost me a small fortune in fuel. I'm lucky now as I have a company van so the corrado only comes out at weekends.
-
Quite suprised there's a few local to me as I've never seen one about. You probably won't have seen mine yet, I only picked it up on Saturday and it came from Sheffield. Where abouts in Beverley are you?
-
I walked straight into that one didn't I. Haha. It's not quite as tidy as it looks in the photo. it has some small spots of rust in the usual places and most panels have some sort of small mark on. But it is 18yrs old and they don't take away anything from the car, but I do want it mint hence the need for the respray.
-
It's sherry pearl, 122,000, completely standard. I'm going to be sorting all the little problems first, just ordered a repair kit for the drivers handle which I can't open at the minute and there's a few bits of interior trim to replace. Long term I'm going to give it a full respray and refurb the wheels. It will be staying original as possible but will be doing things like poly bushes, a sensible stainless exhaust (any recommendations on a standard looking one?) and maybe some coilovers. How long have you owned yours? How do you find it?

Only on my phone at the minute but hopefully you can see this one.
