That would be great James, Could you PM me a price? Cheers, Ian

Does anyone have a spare throttle body to MAF hose/tube for sale? I can't find mine but need one to help decide if i'm going to use a mk4 or mk5 airbox.
-
Is the 022 906 032 DP ecu also from the mk5 or the mk4? Does it run any different without the errors?
-
3 of Kev's will point slightly up and 3 will point slightly down. I think they would be OK on yours. Do you use the Club GTI forum? A guy called Justin (Mushy16v) might have some, I sold him my mk5 loom.
-
James, I got the manifolds the other day. Thanks very much!!!
-
Is there one for the non FSI? I imagine it would be very similar apart from the fueling.
-
Thats excellent!! Thanks for posting. I'll print that off and have a good read but after having a quick butchers at it I like how it sort of put a face to the names of all the engine parts, G28's etc...
-
I've heard of it an a 1.8t and the guy slit the rubber to allow pressure to get out.
-
I'm OK for them now Kev, James has sorted me a pair. Cheers to you both for the offers.
-
Gret news, i'm glad your both up and running!!! James, am I right thinking you have the mk5 engine loom and ecu but mk4 loom into the car? Also did you get my pm about the manifolds?
-
That sounds great. I'll PM you my address, thanks very much.

Does anyone have a a pair of mk5 manifolds I could buy (or ideally borrow)?
-
I also got no fuel untill I removed the FPR and then it (eventually) came through.
-
Heres a couple of pics of my Mk5 downpipes which I've cut before they join back together:, they flare out where the pieces join so they are easy to take apart and hopefully easy to put back together
-
I'm using a mk4 rail with the FPR built in, the clip is like the ones for the coolant temp sensor, just a wire U shaped piece of metal to hold it down.

I got mine running today!!! First thing I checked fuses, they were all ok. Then I put a clio diesel battery on and checked the ECU relay in the scuttle clicked which it did. Then I looked at the fuse box and it felt like No.18 relay clicked with the key. I then disconnected the fuel feed and it released a load of air pressure. Then when I turned the key it didn't prime but when I turned the engine over fuel flowed out of it. I blew down the feed hose into the fuel rail but it seemed blocked, probably couldn't blow hard enough to operate the 4.0bar FPR?? The FPR had no securing clip so I pulled it out and then I could blow the fuel through the rail. I put the FPR back in an my mate held it down. Then I poured the fuel which into the fuel rail, connected it again and second attempt it fired up, it had no exhaust on so was very loud so I turned it off, the fuel was pushing out of the FPR hosing even though he was trying to hold it down. I didnt try it again then, he's going to order me a clip to secure it then we will run it again. Then I offered up the butchered mk5 downpipes, they need a bit of work to fit but I think if they were heated and bent a bit they will be a nice fit. So it seems like the fuel system was air locked, does that sound right to you lot or do you think the FPR could be at fault? I have no vacuum hose attached to it by the way.

I only got as far as checking the wires under the cover in the boot. With the key turned I got 1.5v to each pump and when the engine was turning over I was getting 9.5v. I didn't hear the fuel pump prime but didn't get as far as pulling a fuel hose off. I'll have another go this saturday but I was happy there was a spark at least The battery has been sat for a year. Theres another one off a diesel clio which is small enough to fit but much stronger than my 063, i'll try with that as well because I think I read the fuel pump needs 12v to run (I may have imagined that though).
-
Did they do that when they fitted the R32 into the Corrado? ;) Looking at mine when I sat the engine in (mk3 golf subframe in mk2 so maybe different to the corrado) i'd guess the mk4 chassis mount was 10-15mm lower overall than the VR6 bolt on rear mount. If I put a long level accross the front of my inlet manifold its straight with the wings. Even though its straight it wont start, spark but no fuel DOH!!
-
I had to chop my mount to make the engine sit straight, its pretty basic inside it, a metal tube with a lump of rubber over the top.
-
I'm going to paint mine black.
-
Ha Ha!!! Don't worry, i'm not offended by it. The mk4 stuff will run the mk5 engine but I will get the cam fault. I'm happy to suck it and see for the time being but will more than likely get the cam sprockets changed. I'm sure my starting problem is battery/relay/pump related rather than mk4/mk5 compatibility.

I'm using mk5 engine with mk4 looms and ECU. The loom was modded to be plug and play by Andy Outhwaite at ACR and he also removed the immobiliser. I didn't hear the pumps in action but they do get the voltage to them. If they get the voltage would that mean the relay is OK?

I tired and failed to start it on saturday. It turned over but didn't fire up. I pulled a plug and they were dry. There was a spark. Fuel lines are on the right way. I tested the wiring for the fuel pumps and they seemed to have 1.5v with the key turned and 9.5v with the engine turning over. I didn't get as far as pulling a fuel line off because the garge was closing but there was a small drip in the banjo connection to the pump under the car. I'm going to go back after work one night with some new fuel and see if its flowing through. Any ideas? Also the mk3 VR6 clocks did nothing at all, no clock, milege or lights. The battery has been sat on the floor behind the car for a year but showed 12.4v and does turn the engine over easily enough, its only an 063 though, theres a bigger battery there off a diesel clio that I could try. Which is the fuel pump relay? How exactly is the fuel controlled? I thought that the key triggered the fuel pump relay which allowed the pump to prime and then once the engine is started the pumps gave the fuel rail pressure regulated by the FPR. I then thought the ECU would open the injectors and allow whatever fuel it needed through. Is that right? PhatVR6 asked if I was using the mk4 relay plate, as far as i'm aware i'm not using that and I haven't swapped any relays on my fusebox during the coversion. Do I need to?

I'm not clued up at all with the wiring but as far as I can see the large multi plug on the side of the head is replace by one of the big R32 ECU plugs. You dont need to alter that the section of loom that connects to the engine at all. The bit you need to splice is the bigger section with the lambdas, charcoal filter, MAF etc...

I've upgraded my car to 312mm brakes 5-stud but am missing the gurds. Have people reused the originals or used Mk4/TT/S3/Cupra ones? Also what flexi hoses? Any pics available? Cheers.
