  1. ok,..i replaced the thermostat,..i have no leaks,..coolant is full...start car let it run for 5 minutes,..there goes my coolant flowing out the resevore vent at boiling dgree,....i flushed my system...and then removed the thermo all together,...still does the same thing???? ,..its full....and i flushed every hose and water out let to block,..im running w/o a thermostat,...and about 5 minutes later is steamin up and boilin to the top of reservore,..i put the cap on to stop it from flowing out,...wait a few minutes after i shut car off,...turn the cap back off...swoosh...the coolant comes gushin out the vent hloe before i can get the cap off,...and its very hott. ....need some help here guys....im at my wits end and ready to just shoot it by squeezing the uper hose and watching to see if the coolant in resevore would rise. ...but air?..im runnin w/o the thermo...and i dont leak fluid anywhere...ive been at this for 3 days now.....i'll go let it run with cap on,....but what happens if it just shoots out the vent again from boilin up?...what is going on? if any of you remeber im also the guy that does not have his gauges working,..only the tach..not even the speedo works...dont know why...but anyway im doing this blind i know,..but i have to do what i can with what i got,....my water pump spun free and made no noises,..but i do have another,..but for some reason i dont think that its the pump.....but what do i know..lol ...when i first started the car i did see the fluid rise and air (so to speak)..flow to top of resevore(cap off at this point)......then smoke or steam (but cold to the touch)..was coming out,...i squeezed the upper and lower hoses and felt and hurt the system burp(bubble up in the res.).....at this point i put cap back on,..checked for leaks underneath..(none).......wited a few then the resvore was riseing to the top...and when i unsrew the cap,..before it comes off the coolant shoots out of the vent....? ,...this is what i did,...started car,...let run for about 5 minutes,...top hose getting warm...bottom hose staying cold....waited 3 to 4 more minutes......top hose getting hot,..bottom hose staying cold....felt water pump from underneath car,...hott too touch....went to take cap off....to release air if any,...coolant shoots out before cap is unscrewed all the way off.......i put cap back on and did this process while also pumping top rad hose....then shut car off..removed upper rad hose,...hmmm.no fluid came out?...grabbed hose shot water in to top of rad....hott ass water came flowing out of top rad. hose on to my hands while holding hose in to rad. ........whats next? can the water pump be bad if it does not leak or make any noise?...it spins freely and is quiet,...also when i flushed the system...i shot high pressure water into everything to check for a clog,..water came out?...is ther another way to chech it or unclog a clog? uhm...the first 15 min was fine,...pulled over...let the air out...put cap on...drove a bit...pulled over let some air out,.....then...let it idle...to see if it boils over...10 min. went by...left station to come home,...bam...white smoke from under hood.......bad!!!!!...pulled over.....**** was everywhere but in the resevore......let it cool a bit put tap water back in drove it home smokein with steam...now on my knees praying...lol....actually...when i pulled in my driveway,...let it cool for a few then removed res. cap....water still bubbleing up to the top,..kinda girgleing ........but no leaks underneath...no noise...(well.a lil bit of a ping!need some water sound)....but no ther noises.....what is it?....didnt find a clog unless i did it wrong.....no h.core..no thermo.....HELP
  2. ty,..oh...btw,..i had a friend follow me today...hes said when i first start it its a white-ish smoke...then it goes away a bit,..then he followed me...said that its only smokes a lil while driving,..but when i get on it its starts out white-ish then turns into darker smoke ok,...also,..i have a cyberdine air/fuel gauge..it was reading in the middle,..today when i drove it,...its in the middle,...then when i go to give it gas drops to lean,...then while wot...its a lil above normal....then when shifting into 3rd...its saying lean and kinda stayed into 4th...then slowed down to idle or so...and its in the middle...wtf..lmao it starts in the middle as like in idle,..then in wot...goes up then drops to lean,...i dont know,...i do know that my ground wire to the gauge is ghetto rigged since it was just a test spot for install,....and i have only drivin the car about 3 miles (not all at once)...when i am trying to figure things out,..remember that i have a 45k short block and internals,...with a new headgasket set(all gaskets...and ARP main and head bolt....the motor ran excellent before i pulled it from the previous car,..and since my head and intake were ported and my water pump..and things were brand new i just swapped them to this block before install tdont know,..just hooked the gauge up...but really has not been drivin that much and has never reached over 60 mph yet,......and if i do recall,..it was not too rich,..the most it did get while testing it was 2 lines(bars from middle) into the rich area on gauge...and to my boost gauge it hit 16 psi it only hit the middle bar and 2 into rich for a second or two,..then dropped to lean.....remember that my o2 sensor is about 2 yrs old and due to a idiot prvious owner it is welded into a pipe where cat use to be,..could the o2 be the problem for the gauge hitting lean
  3. ok,..now i still havent found the gauge cluster problem,..or the battery drain...tried just about everything.... now when i first start the car it blows out some white-ish colored smoke,...then kinda fades out while at idle,....then my neighbor said when i drove off,..a dark colored smoke was coming out the exhaust,...larger puffs at shift points,...anyone know how to stop it,...?
  4. well i never figured out my gauge cluster problem,..but a few nights ago,..i went and got a new battery,...becuz mine kept dying,...i can drive around town and stop to get some grub...come out and no juice,...last night i got home then this morning..itd dead,...took it to discount to get a full charge...got home groabbed my girl,..went back out but ..no juice?...what is causing the drain?
  5. hey guys, thanks for your help,..i finally got the gauge cluster out,...seems to be ok,.nothing looks fried or cracked,..the electrical pulg has like 20 color wires,..which is ground?..also...as i mentioned before,..i have no fuel,oil,water,or speedo..but when i turn on the lights it lights up,.blinkers work as well as battery abs lights....so is this a ground problem?...when i was under dash...i also found a lil plug,.two wire..one blue one brown...cant figure out where it goes?..manual anyone ..also,..is there an adjustment for the gas pedal...i seen the air-like plunger..? looked again,..there are similar two wire plugs..one going to the brake pedal the other the clutch...dont know where it goes...i thought it might have went to the cluster(thinking reason for them not working),..but not it?....i dont have a manual,..so i cant look it up,....weird that it was fine before block swap and now only tach works,....and idiot lights.and they still light up when switched on? the wing works fine,..and my dash speaker is already hooked up to its proper wire,..why would everything not work but the tach,...oh,...when i turn the key the clock is on,but when i turn it over to start it,..its gone again i know that i poated this issue already and got a few replies,.but nothing has helped yet,..its quite puzzling,...e info or manual would be great,..plz..

    here we go again?

    hey,..thanks for the insight,....does anyone have a manual to tell me for sure,...lol ...and not to sound stupid,...tha lambda is the o2 sensor correct?...would this also cause the darkish smoke leaving my muffler and makin the neighborhood kids choke?....lol .........or what else may cause the smoke,...it is getting good gas,..and has new fresh oil,..and the block only has 45k on it
  8. mine was running all night all the time while car was on or off,..and kept running,...couldnt figure it out,..new switch,..new fuel filter,....and still runs,...so i just unplugged the fuel pump run-on switch.......dont know if this is a bad thing or not,..but it runs just the same with it unplugged...?

    also guys,....the hose from the ecu(meter long)..how crucial is that meter,and which one of the two nipples on the back of the throttle body does it go to,..bottom or top?.....oh,....at the top of my intake my after-run fuel switch,....i dont plaug it in,..cuz if i do when i shut down the pump stays running,...doesnt seem to change the driving condition tho,.....hmmm?
  11. ok,sorry.. ....when i got my car from the shop,..and out of storage my gauges did not work no fuel oil water or speedo and mfa, just the tach works. so my question is that while the motor was out and such,is there a main ground for all of the items to the cluster,or individual grounds or a large main fuse? it lights up when the headlights are turned on and the tach works,..but nothing else. .and to the other part of my question to why its so boggish,any ideas on that..its fine at full throttle when punched but just normal driving its non-responsive?
  12. i wrote you stating that i have a 90 corrado g60,..just got a cyberdine air/fuel gauge,...but no instructions,..and all i know is that it goes to the o2 sensor somehow,...do you know how to install this gauge?.....its digital,...and has three wires comin off of it,..black,..orange,..and red ...i think that b..ground..r,...power,..and o,..to the sensor ,...but which wire,..and where?
