  1. Hi What's your budget? I might have a nice G60 for sale check out my album. It's the satin silver one. Steve
  2. HI Neil Thanks for the reply. Did you manage to see the pictures in my album?(had problems) I think it's too good a car to start stripping parts off it. Did cross my mind though. Steve
  3. Hi Welcome to the forum. You've come to the right place. What Raddo are you after? Steve
  4. Good spotting have rectified Yep paint code LB7Z Thanks Steve
  5. HI All It's looking more and more likely that I will have to reluctantly pass on my J plate Corrado G60. Due to work commitments(more travel) I think that it would be unwise for both my licence and for the car to rack up the miles on it. I had plans to keep it standard'ish and enjoy many years of Fun motoring, as now my kids have grown up so no more school runs! And had purchased many spares for it(negotiable separately). Any way posting this up for some feedback as to how much you guys think it's worth.(I know only what someone is willing to pay) It's a Satin silver Corrado G60 on a J plate late spec 15 gallon fuel tank. All working electrics. Fully Working Electric Recaro 'Ultraviolet' interior(tilt and height electric adjustable) VGC no rips/tears bolsters firm etc.(very comfy) Usual corrado spec, with a fully working tilt/slide sunroof, PAS, working ABS, electric windows, central locking from key and off alarm/immobiliser, Fully working spoiler(auto/manual), Autowatch alarm/immobiliser 2 plip keys. 11 months MOT just passed, Had to have a front ball joint and a Bosch lambda sensor(emissions) and New windscreen(what a headache). Standard BBS 15" wheels x4 with centres(wheels and centres been painted light grey/silver). Spare 15" spacesaver Stage two supercharger(Jabba) 68mm pulley, Jabba sport air cooled oilcooler, Milltek stainless exhaust (all this work carried out by Jabbasport). Koni sport yellow shock absorbers front are top adjustable, rear(are 3 months old) adjustable off car, with apex -20mm springs. Excellent front headlamps no chips/cracks lenses very good etc. Front fog lights have had the Hella glass removed and replaced with Bosch. Stainless fuel tank strap mod done(old ones had seen better days). Alpine IDA X311 no cd(radio ipod/usb stick) with alpine speakers x6 all round. Sensible interior mods chrome(plastic) interior door pulls and a Trimsport aluminium corrado gear knob(have standard leather gear knob and door pulls to go back on if needed) For pictures please see my pictures. Some of them were taken last year and I've had the rubber side strips put back on the car. A very well looked after car that in my ownership has wanted for nothing. I have been looking on Ebay and the like so have a rough idea of what to ask as the interior is worth ££££'s. If I were to keep the car then I would do the following mods:- Fit Rear mk4 brake calipers(have them and carriers) and stainless brake hoses all round. Fit Maybe new discs/pads all round Have the BBS's refurbed back to original colour(me being picky). Paint brake calipers(me being picky) Please sensible posts only. Thanks Steve
  6. Good to see a G60 being pampered. Top work there.
  7. Hi Thanks for replies. Yep mightily relieved that corrado passed MOT(knew it is a good car). Missus has been nagging me non stop since I bought it, and this was another excuse for me and the car to go our separate ways. Anyway the little I found about emissions on MOT states that any car registered after 1st August 1992 does need a CAT or confirm to the CAT test emissions to pass an MOT. That is pass a co2 test of less then 0.3 percent. For vehicles registered between 1st August 1986 and 31st July 1992, the CO level must not exceed 3.5% by volume. Petrol Vehicles registered after 1st August 1992 must conform to the manufacturers specification (the MOT testing garage usually checks these values on a database(sometimes wrong always double check vehicle registered date)). The carbon monoxide level is tested at two speeds; “idle” and “fast idle”. Although the specification varies between car models, the guidelines are generally 0.5% at idle and 0.3% at fast idle. And Hydrocarbon Emissions(petrol engines) For vehicles registered between 1st August 1975 and 31st July 1992, the HC emissions must not exceed 1200 ppm (parts per million). Vehicles registered after 1st August 1992 must conform to the manufacturer’s specification. The hydrocarbon level is again tested at “fast idle” speed. Although the specification varies between car models, the guidelines are generally no more than 200 ppm at fast. Car might be up for sale soon due to a proposed long commute to work. Will find out in next month or so. Steve
  8. HI All Been trying to get my G60 to pass the MOT for the past 3 weeks. Due to work and family commitments and weather! Had to have work done at the garage. Only failed on bottom ball joint n/s and emissions. Took car for a tune and they diagnosed the lambda sensor at fault. Had this done and it still failed on emissions! After many visits to the mot garage and tuners to get the emissions down/checked turns out my Cat has seen better days only just failing 0.5 should be >0.3 according to the test details. When the mot test station put my reg number into the emissions test computer, it came up with all the correct chasis number and vehicle details and a registered date of 08/12/92 putting my car into needing a cat to pass the mot(cars registered after 01/08/92 need this). When I checked my V5 the car was registered 28/04/92. A lucky escape and a mot pass at last. Steve
  9. Ordered in a Bosch lambda probe and Cv boot kit for my Corrado(as failed mot on emissions+bottom ball joint near side) took car to have emissions checked and they advised lambda sensor change. MOT advisory note cv boot limited life. Quite reasonable £68 delivered from carparts for less. Car booked in for retest and work wednesday.
  10. Only the early G60's with 12 gallon fuel tank are/were narrow track. The later G60's with 15 gallon fuel tank were the experimental model for the VR6 so I think they are wide track. I think this is correct, but if someone has better knowledge of this then please say so as good advice is what he's after. Steve
  11. Hi Guys you're missing the point Qoute aaron1987 Seat Ibiza Cupra with around 240bhp (1.8 20vT) or A Corado G60.. I've found both locally & well priced. I've always wanted a G60 but then I'm buying this as a second car/track/weekend car.. Unqoute He wants it as a 2nd car/track toy weekend thing so i'm assuming that he prefers handling over power. Yes i agree that a VR6 will give you more power and the howl they deliver on full throttle sounds very addictive. But do they handle as well as a G60? Is there anyone on this forum that has owned both models and can offer sound advice on the handling differences between the two? I own a mildly tuned Corrado G60 and although it needs sprucing up a little it still handles well. I have never owned or driven a Corrado VR6 in anger so i don't know if it handles as good. I have been told that the G60 Corrado handles better, due to having less weight up front, and are a more balanced drivers' car compared to the VR6 Corrado? But on the downside do require a heck of a lot more pampering than a VR. And pushing 240 bhp would require a lot of work and TLC on a G60. Hope this helps Steve
  12. Same here. I have the heko wind deflectors fitted to my corrado g60 and can back up doodles in saying that the fit and the quality is perfect.
  13. Hi The body shop prepped the windscreen fitment area(lip) that contained light surface rust, there was no other rust showing before windscreen fitter arrived(you can see masking line and slightly different silver). The area around the windscreen wasn't treated as the paint was good and had no exposed metalwork(I inspected it and took the pictures). The black you can see is the remnants of the windscreen sealant as the previously fitted windscreen wasn't the original and had a shed load of sealant holding in the outer seal. The body shop fitter stayed with the autoglass fitter all the time, and not once did the autoglass fitter ask for any paint to be applied to the car. He came at 15:00 screen was in by 15:45 and stayed in bodyshop messing around with the outer seal till approx 18:20? The bodyshop fitter explained to me that the areas were there is rust are where the autoglass fitter was trying to ram the seal in. He couldn't see what tool he was using but said that at one stage he took a rubber mallet to the seal to try to get it to sit right. Car is still in bodyshop awaiting screen fitment(monday).
  14. This just tops it all. Had a call from Autoglasses' so called technical department(what a joke). They said they have reviewed the pictures I sent them and came to the conclusion that the bodyshop caused the damage!! WTF you can clearly see were the masking lines are and what the bodyshop prepped/painted. The damage is clearly above the masking lines. They also said that the bodyshop had clearly painted over rust? Another contentious issue. I have been using this bodyshop(same tech also) for a long time(15 years) and trust them totally. Took the car back to bodyshop and told them what Autoglass tech had said, they just laughed and said this isn't the first time they have had problems with them and to drop the car off asap, and that they will sort it again. I have asked them to take detailed pictures of the prepped area when they have finished, and also to take pictures before the outer seal is fitted. And if possible to get the autoglass warranty tech to sign a prepared document, stating that there is no exposed metal work showing and that he is happy with the prepped area, before fitting the said seal. You would never think something as straight forward as having a front windscreen fitted by a professional company, could cause so much hassle. Wish me luck. Steve P.S. I have the original receipt that they billed the insurance company for and it's £620
  15. Hi All My Corrado G60 might be for sale soon:(. Due to work commitments my trip to/from work has now increased drastically. Really don't want to sell it as I looked hard for this one. I need a car that is both practical and easy to get parts for, I am having a nightmare at moment with front windscreen and really need the car for work.(this will be sorted out before sale and full pictures will be included) Anyway here's some details. J plate Corrado G60 in satin silver (LB7Z). HPI clear (certificate to prove) Set of four BBS RZ's with centres(in a light grey colour not perfect but straight and no buckles etc)15" spare is a space saver. Usual spec electric windows, central locking, working sunroof tilt/slide working rear spoiler and fully working ABS, PAS. Milltek sport stainless steel exhaust with milltek hi flow cat. Jabba sport serviced supercharger(think stage 2) Vw panel air filter under bonnet. Koni sport shock absorbers all round, fronts are top adjustable rears(brand new)off car adjustable. With apex lowered springs -20mm. Full service history currently on 166 tho. 12 month mot(just about to go in for one) And the best bit Recaro Ultraviolet interior in Very good condition and in full working order(tilt and height electric adjustable). Alpine IDA X311 usb/ipod head unit with Alpine speakers all round. Autowatch alarm/immobilser. Drives very good no hesitation. On a recent weekend away trip to Tenby(west wales) car returned 37 mpg on average! Not bad for a 22 year old car. Don't have a price in mind at moment, as stated it might be up for sale soon. Just giving anyone a heads up if they are looking for a nice clean straight G60 soon. When confirmed I will post in for sale section. Please see my pictures for more info. Black protective side strips are back on pictures do not show them. Steve
  16. HI All Change of plans keeping original wheels on car. Thanks All Steve
  17. Latest update Had an email back from my insurance stating that they have passed on all info and pictures to their customer care department. And for me to expect a call from Autoglass to arrange a viewing by one of their inspectors! I Really don't want Autoglass anywhere near my car and have stated this in my reply back to them.
  18. Yep i know. It must have been fitted too low then, as car sat in body shop unmoved overnight.
  19. Interesting post looks like my newly fitted screen has dropped! Don't they talk to one another. I even gave the fitter a Vagcat diagram showing him what parts he needed!
  20. HI All Thanks for replies. Autoglass are a complete waste of time. The local manager(cardiff) keeps on saying that the damage could not have been caused by his fitter, and he is refusing to pay for something that they didn't do. He even advised me that when the windscreen is taken out to have a roof respray to have a proper job done? I feel like we are just going around in circles and told him that I am not going to argue with him I will let my Insurance sort it out. I Have contacted my Insurance sent off all the pictures that I took and am awaiting a reply. I hope it doesn't take them too long. Steve
  21. Hi All Just posted these up on ebay. Had them on my 17" BBS RC'S that I had on my Audi A4. Removed them because I prefferred the Audi badges. In very good condition Check out ebay item number 261425913337. Thanks Steve
  22. Hi Thanks guys Refitted them and IMO it looks good. It's one of those Marmite things.
  23. I have the same feeling at the moment. Refitted the side bump strips. It's a marmite thing.
  24. Must admit I did come close, but the windscreen fitter was there. Anyway with all the problems I've been having with the car, sometimes it makes me wonder why I bothered buying a 21 year old car. All those feelings though are forgotten as soon as I turn the key. Corrado still starts and drives like a mini supercar. And always puts a smile on my face. Just wish I had more time and a garage to sort out all the niggly little things.
