Front hub bearings

Recommended Posts

I am in the process of reconning some G60 hubs as parts of my current project but after splitting the hub from the lower suspension arm I am left with some of the bearing still attached to the hub.

Any ideas how to split these two bits apart?

Cheers,

Yan

which bearing are you referring to?

do you mean the wheel bearing?

or are you talking about the ball joint?

either way, its hammer time.

The wheel bearing, will stick some pics up tomorrow when I get chance.

Hammer time is good but I need to get something in first to lever before I hammer.

If it were me, I'd angle grind a notch in it, until I could get a chisel in to spilt it. Or get your self a blow lamp and get it nice and hot. Probably get something small behind it to lever it off then.

if it is the outer track of the bearing stuck in the hub, you should be able to hit it back through. there is a lip on it, get a "suitable drift" and smack the shiit out of it.

think of "handy andy's" hit record when you are doing so . . . .
