h100vw 0 Posted November 22, 2004 Years ago max power got an extra 20 hp out of a 1900 205 GTI with some splitfire plugs :roll: What they didn't show was the ones they took out that had a gap you could house a family of immigrants in. You could have fitted any new plug and got the same result. Put some std plugs in and spend the rest down the pub or something. Or buy another tank of petrol. Ady_G 0 Posted November 22, 2004 Years ago I went for the Splitfires in an old Cav 130 Sri, and it ran worse with them, when I had a service and tune up at the local injection specialist and he recomeded normal bosch or NGKs and the car ran smoother again. samm_cvr6 0 Posted November 22, 2004 I think it depends what sort of car you have, performance cars will be far more receptive to a good spark plug than small engine cars so it's pointless having a corrado with crap spark plugs, but in my experience bosch &NGK have been good, not sure about split fire but would be interested in t esting them.
