heater problem solved!!

since i brought my g60 the heater hasnt worked spent the best part of a day replacing a perfectly good thermostat!! but i found tonight it was the bowden cables they werent broken just been crimped too tight buy whoever had replaced them their held on by little metal clamps and mine were too tight so i wouldnt move over to the hot setting just need to replace them now!!

Yep, they're fickle bar stewards those bowden cables. Well done for sorting it :lol:

 

I did some healthy upgrades on my cables last year and they've been fine ever since.

 

First mod is to get a new screen vent cable. The standard one is too short and kinks and gets stiff too easily. The new cable is a good 6" longer than the factory one, so VW are obviously aware of the problem.

 

Second mod is to space out the hot/cold flap actuator arm with some rubber washers and lots of grease 8)
