I'v never bought a new car but am seriously considering buying mk5 gti brand new and keeping it for a long long time, cos i think thats the only way to get value for money when buying a brand new car. I love the looks(still not sure about rear end), and it seems like a good drive from factory with plenty of scope for tuning!

Hmmm... dunno about these. Look quite 8) , but then I sat in one at MPH:04 and I was truly underwhelmed. The gearchange felt very sloppy- loads of throw, but then I wasn't driving so can't really judge properly :roll:

must admit i quite like the little "nods" to the originals..... the red trim round the grille and the tartan-esque cloth seats for instance :D
