Neil VR6 0 Posted December 7, 2004 Looks like Bernie's strangehold of F1 has been removed! Maybe we might even see some racing and overtaking! Bring back turbos and no fuel stops! Also, without his influence we might be able to keep hold of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone (without "Grand Prix" being copywrited).
dr_mat 0 Posted December 7, 2004 But surely "Grand Prix" is a generic term, can't be copyrighted .... oh wait, Microsoft managed it. It's about time they sued Redhat for having the gall to ship a "window manager". As for Bernie, well he's had a good run. Even if they fry him he's still going to come out with billions in the bank. Neil VR6 0 Posted December 7, 2004 Exactly, he must be a billionnaire? It was on the Channel 4 news last night, he actually tried to copywrite the words "Grand Prix" (unsuccessfully thankfully)! There was a big meeting of the F1 gurus at Heathrow yesterday, imagine the car park!!
dr_mat 0 Posted December 7, 2004 Yeah, last estimate of his piggy bank was in the $3-4 billion (or about £85.17)..

Blue_Joe 0 Posted December 7, 2004 I've not heard any news - Whats happened to Bernie E then?????????????? :?:
Neil VR6 0 Posted December 8, 2004 A court ruling has handed power of F1 to (I think) 3 banks. However, Bernie has offered loads of money to the "poorer" F1 team to get them on his side. The better F1 teams run to run their own race series in 2006 which should give rat face cause for concern!
