kebabman 0 Posted December 14, 2004 Just fitted an uprated headlight loom to my VR, and while I was under the car I noticed a 3(maybe 4)pin yellow plastic plug that was just hanging down by wires in the driver side bumper recess. It's on the far side infront of the wheel. Anyone know what this is and if it's supposed to be connected? Haven't noticed any problems and all the lights work. :? Cheers :)
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted December 14, 2004 Could be the a ambient temp sender plug. Des the MFA report outside temp OK? If everthing works OK, it might just be an accessory not used on UK cars that dropped down for some reason?

Jim 2 Posted December 15, 2004 I'm sure i've read before that a yellow plug is used for aircon...
kebabman 0 Posted December 15, 2004 I haven't noticed any problems with the MFA's reading of the outside temp.....might be headlight washers as I didn't know we had them until just now  so maybe they're not working  Will try and get a picture of the offending plug, easier than describing it. Cheers for the advice so far lads :)

kebabman 0 Posted February 1, 2005 Finally took a pic, and think I've sussed what it is at the same time  This is the plug....what's the plastic canister thing to the right? Goes here..... is this the external temp sensor?
Shilakadaddy 0 Posted February 1, 2005 if its the same as the G60, then yes thats your external temp sensor, and the plastic canister is your Carbon Canister, which I believe is used to reduce emissions (think theres a fuel breather pipe goes into it, and some other stuff...) I've removed mine so I can have a cold air feed pipe to the airbox through the space left by it - theres quite a few threads about this :)
