Rossco 0 Posted January 6, 2005 There are four 19mm or 17mm bolts two on one side two on the other but they are slightly recessed so you will need a long reach socket, no massive issue to do tho
daves16v 1 Posted January 6, 2005 They are 17mm.

wawab 0 Posted January 7, 2005 well so much for "only" 4 bolts guys, got these out but they were so corroded i had to use a 16mm socket, then spent ages trying to pull the bumper off but seems to be sticking in the middle. any ideas why it would be doing this? cheers
W3RKD 0 Posted January 7, 2005 is this somthing to do with the fact it has a tow bar fitted in that area..?
chrishill 0 Posted January 7, 2005 tow bar?! on a corrado?! is that some sort of new 'euro' trend then?
wawab 0 Posted January 7, 2005 yes i know f**kin "tow bar" thats why im tryin to get the bumper off to dispose of the towbar as far as i can see the bumper is not attached to the towbar & i rekon the bumper would have been put on after some idiot fitted a towbar. slot 0 Posted January 7, 2005 Hook it upto a caravan and then floor it ??? Mite remove it
daves16v 1 Posted January 8, 2005 There are plastic lugs attached to the inside of the wrap-a-round part of the bumper. These slide in to plastic clips on the side of the car. These maybe covered in crap and stuck in. With the 4 bolts removed try pushing the leading edges of the bumper back to free them up. Hope I've made sense. wawab 0 Posted January 8, 2005 have tried putting a rope round a bollard & the towbar & it didnt budge. the sides seem to be free enough in those plastic locating clips. im stumped, dont know what else to try. vw mechanic said there might be another bolt either side holding the towbar on but theres none visible. wawab 0 Posted January 18, 2005 WOO HOO! shes off! for any of those who are interested (not that any of u would put a bloody towbar on ur corrado) there were 2 other bolts hiding above the exhaust back box holding the towbar on. so glad my mechanic found those, thot i was going to have to live with the towbar. :)
