Recommended Posts

It doesnt work!! They just kinda say, bollocks 2 u, and go on for about another 5-10 womps!

I have to switch the car off an on again, so in that case somethings wrong, what!!

Its SO annoying!

sounds to me like you have a faulty switch... is the rear wiper going intermittently, or constantly with the spray going too?

the front one is

bottom position=intermittent wipe

one up from that=off

one up from that=normal wipe

one up from that=fast wipe

push away to squirt and wipe 3 times

the rear one is

push away once to start

push away again to stop

push and hold to squirt

no, you just touch the wiper arm to put the front ones on, and it just goes off on a tangent sometimes, and then will just go intermitint others, and no matter what i do, it just doesnt seem to want to stop womping!!

So it starts ok, just doesnt want to stop, and makes the most annoying noise after 6-7 wipes

sounds like either a dodgy control unit or worn contact plate inside the wiper housing that tells the control module what position the wiper is in

does it sort of jitter and stop in odd positions as well?

My rear screen wiper is one push on the right hand stalk.

But I am unable to wipe without a squirt! Oooer missus!

Are all the 'raddo's like this?

Also, does anyone know what front wiper mechanism fits the 'raddo as the linkage is gubbed in mine & I'll need a new one soon.

Home fix won't last much longer!

the mech is corrado only isnt it ?

yep the rear is push to wipe and will squirt as well if held a little longer usually takes a moment for the fluid to reach the squirter jet on mine tho

I reckon the wiper relay is goosed.

Had to replace one on my old Bimmer E36 once and it cost an eye watering £196!

Thankfully on the Corrado it's a tenth of that!

That was my first thought, cos it seems to behave sometimes, and not others, and is gunna be the cheapest first replacement part!

So my next question. . . where is it and will GSF do them?!?

On a slightly related topic, does anybody know how one would go about re-programming the front wipers so they wiped an extra time after squirting? After washinng, my screen is still a wee bit smeary, but an extra wipe seems to do the trick.

I guess Lupo wipers would probably help on this front too...

Of absolutely no use whatsoever to you, but interestingly, the new Polo that I've got at the moment does the usual wipes after squirt... then another single wipe a few seconds later to catch any cling-ons ;)

Hmmm... maybe worth nicking the relay out of one of those....

i found with the lupo wipers that the screen is dry after the second wipe and tends to squeek a bit by the third wipe
