Uprated Top Mounts with Coilovers!!!!???

Recommended Posts

Hi All

Well once again (this is getting all to often!!!) I've gone and spent another small fortune on my G60 by investing in some FK Silverline Plus Coilovers (Konigsports, but made of Stainless Steel!)

Here's my question, it's been suggested I get some uprated top mounts as apparentkly coilovers chew through standard mounts at an alarming rate. Admittedly this sounds like a fairly good idea as I've replaced all but the rear axle mounts (to maintain the passive steering!) with poly bushes so seems like the next step. So any advice on what to get, price and where from?????

What's different about the VR6 ones? Will they fit a mk2 golf? The ones in my golf are shot and I'm putting in new shocks next week so am wondering which top mounts to go for.

(sorry for the thread hijack by the way)

The VR6 ones are a slightly different, much improved design & have seperate bearings. You're also likely to need the VR "top spring mounting plates" as these have a recessed bearing seat.

Yes - they should also fit a MK2 Golf..

It turns out that you can't use the bonrath ones or similar with coilovers as they move about and knock alot. You have to use the standard ones. Just make sure you buy the proper VAG ones only available from VAG as they are stronger
