vwcvr6 0 Posted January 17, 2005 hi guys has any1 changed the leds on the joystick switch on the drivers door!!! i have just opened mine up, was wondering if i need to stick 12v resistors to the leds when fitting the new blue ones!!!! thxs k
fla 9 Posted January 18, 2005 I think dubbprince has done them. Drop him a pm. He's done some good dash mods in terms of leds and is well placed to advise of possible pitfalls.

Kevin Bacon 5 Posted January 18, 2005 You can get LEDs with current limiting resistors built in, so no need to faff about with external LEDs.

fla 9 Posted January 18, 2005 I havent done the mirror ones yet - how difficult were they and any tips? Otherwise looks cool. Well done. Now you just need to do the clocks!
vwcvr6 0 Posted January 19, 2005 The mirror switch can be abit hard, the circuit board which holds the 4 leds is very fragile, (like i found out!!! ) make sure u get leds with built in resistors, i had make a circuit to get the resistor in. an when removing the 2 black holders on the circuit board dnt scratch the board !!! gud luck fla!!! i am gona start the clocks soon :)
fla 9 Posted January 19, 2005 where did you get the leds from (with the built-in resisitors?). BTW, clocks are quite easy, just drill out the bulbs and fix in your resisitor containing leds. I had to wrap teh leads around the connector as you cant solder on to it. AHving said that, if you want to change the coulur to red, just change the filter - much easier and you get a good colour. I changed mine to blue (bummer of a colour to work with) but as I have a combo of blue and red I wish I had used red instead.
vwcvr6 0 Posted January 19, 2005 i didnt buy them with resistors but it would be easier with built in ones!!! i tink maplins do sell blue 3mm 12v leds give them a go!!!! will start on the clocks this weekend!! thxs k
