146 Jockey 0 Posted January 19, 2005 Is there a lot of time and effort involved converting the manual windows over to electric. I have all the bits(Loom, switches etc). Cheers, Baz.
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted January 19, 2005 Providing the door is shaped for the motor (an alcove stamped into the interior skin just above the speaker area) then nope, it's not too tricky. You need to drill out the rivets holding the manual regulator to the door skin and then put the electric regulator in it's place and rivet the motor to the aforementioned door area. Have you got the control module etc? (lives behind the offside rear card). I reckon the electrics will be the most difficult part.
daves16v 1 Posted January 19, 2005 I did this on an Astra. Got all the bits to do it from the scrappie apart from the wiring, then had an alarm/stereo fitter hook up the electrics, cost about £30.
146 Jockey 0 Posted January 19, 2005 Kevhaywire, Have all the bits, was told that the hardest part was probably the regulator and motor.
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted January 19, 2005 Shouldn't be too bad then. The regulator can be a pain as it's fiddly getting it in but it's not too bad overall.
