2cc 0 Posted January 20, 2005 My clutch and chains replacement job has sort of grown into a bit of an eng bay refurb and last night I decided I had to remove the coolant transfer pipe as well as the oil filter & cooler, the block looks nice in new black paint now. Yeah, you guessed, I broke it :x cos it was stuck in the block, but the good news is my dealer had one in stock :) which I collected this morning. Later I am about to refit the temp sensor housing and discovered it has started to split - :( . But have just called me dealer and that is also in stock - and with all the sealing rings and clips. Wahay :D And cheap too, the transfer pipe (new part no is 021121050C) is £14.51, and the temp sensor block (021121117A) is only £22.37. Also just found the Pressure Regulator on the inlet was split (does it ever end?) so have just ordered one from the local Ford shed - £18 odd + vat and it will be here tomorrow am. Thanks to all who posted details about this item. Pix and a write up will follow eventually...............
Supercharged 2 Posted January 20, 2005 Good man, glad to hear its coming along!
2cc 0 Posted January 21, 2005 Bum, minor confusion when ordering over the phone. The temp sensor block quoted above is only 1/3 of the assy, the transfer pipe adaptor (021121133D) is £9.42, and the thermostat adaptor (021121121A) is also £9.42. Then there's seals and new screws to hold it all together etc..... so actually cost me nearer £50. Oh well, at least it shouldn't leak when I finally get her started. Front body members back early next week hopefully, so fingers crossed. Thanks for the words of encouragement Stephen, I seem to be lurching from one minor hiccup to the next at the moment. Kevin Bacon 5 Posted January 21, 2005 Glad to hear it's all progressing nicely Chris. It'll drive like a dream when all back together again! Most dealers keep the coolant plastics in stock because they're a known weakness!
Andy Brookes 0 Posted January 21, 2005 words of encouragement from me to 2cc. I know I didn't get quiet as deep as you in the engine bay....but my VR is lovely now with all the new cooling parts. Also fully recommend the MT90 gear oil if you are in that area. The stuff has made gear changing a pleasure. Second gear use to crunch now and again when driving hard, but no longer, even with a short shift. Keep going it will be worth it.
