late lights in early bumper how easy is it?

looking at g60renshaws gallery its quoted as the easiest job in the world! any ideas how to do it?

There's a piece of plastic behind the fogs/indicators that needs removing before they'll fit in... planning to do this to mine soon so let me know how you get on 8)

The late lights are a piece of...

 

 

its been donkeys since i did them but here goes...

 

 

remove old units.

 

break out plastic panel on bumper

 

replace cables

 

remove lil grommet at numberplate side of recess

 

fit new lights.

 

from memory it is that easy. takes about half an hour if your quick about it and makes your dub look way fresher, really you wont belive the difference it makes and compliments a new grille for 25 quid from GPC

which cables? when you say break out plastic panel do you cut the whole thing out?

Did mine so i didnt have to pay £££££ for late 1s.

replace cables, - its just merely the loom attatched to the fog lights, from memory, you have to whip out the old one and wire in the new one. dead easy tho i had to cut my old one to get it out.

 

and the panel, you dont have to cut it really no. you'll see what i mean when you come to do it but its basically like a lil plate kind of bonded in with sealant. 5 minutes of hiting it with something hard then trimming some with a stanley knife sees it out no problem.]

where does it plug in inside the bumper? just want to know as im going over to g60knights this week to get some of a car he is breaking

When i went from standard bumper to my rs4 i used the old lights still then when i fitted my later style ones, i had to make a centre bracket for the screws in centre of plastic to screw to and that was it.
